Joins G Ablett, L Franklin and T Doedee on the injury list at Creme de la Creme and it now means 2 of the 4 highest paid players in 2020 on @Connoisseur's list are watching from the sidelines.
Thanks to the excellent @Bermi once again for his magnificent work, highlighted by the below which is the start of his upcoming series that I have commissioned.

T Doedee:

A key pillar down in defence for @Connoisseur in the inaugural season averaging 85.22 from his 9 matches until his unfortunate and untimely injury and is raring to return to the field in 2021 to help the premiership aspirations of Creme de la Creme.

Goodie's Giants FC - Match Committee Talk

The Giants match committee are reportedly stoked with their decision to back in up and coming superstar Noah Anderson.

Sources close to The Giants claim that discussions were held just moments prior to the final game of the round in relation to the M8 position, with returning midfielder Jack Graham almost given the nod. Anderson (88 at HT) has well and truly repaid the faith shown in him, whilst the match committee will be pleased with Grahams return (31 at HT), adding much needed depth to the clubs midfield group.

Gee the Giants are gonna be hard to beat with scores like that. Some of those midseason recruits paying dividends!
Wouldn't be so sure mate, still such a long way to go in this season, I'm not even a lock for finals action yet.

After that SYD GWS game I thought my season was done, I had 5 or 6 players play and they barely cracked 300 between them.

Thankfully some of the others stepped up and produced the goods in a crucial round.

Sicily going down is not what I needed though. I keep losing defenders to either injury or exiting hubs for the birth of children.

Hey @Philzsay I thought the last Intergalactic Derby was close when it was decided by 33 points. 5 points this time ... well played! The scene is set for a future rivalry!
The Intergalactic Derby! Love it!!

Of course our Intergalactic rivalry also spans the Ages of time......

Here is an article of our respective fans getting a little agitated with each other several years ago, of course the reporter not knowing about the future SCS Ultimate league Clubs Dagobah Immortals and the Arcadia Timelords mistakenly called them Star Wars and Doctor Who fans.....

Darth brawl: Rival Star Wars and Doctor Who fans separated by 'the force' after police called to 'fight' at sci-fi convention

  • Squabbling broke out between rival groups at University of East Anglia
  • More than a dozen fans - some in fancy dress - involved in confrontation
  • Feud between two fan groups had been simmering for months
  • Police tell Doctor Who and Star Wars fans to stay apart

Rival Star Wars and Doctor Who fans had to be separated by 'the force' after police were called to a fight at a sci-fi convention between the two squabbling groups.

The family event, hosted at the University of East Anglia, threatened to head towards the dark side after the dispute erupted between members of Norwich Sci-Fi Club and Norwich Star Wars Club.

More than a dozen fans from both groups - including several in fancy dress - were involved in a bitter exchange outside the venue, sparked by the arrival of Jim Poole, treasurer of the Norwich Sci-Fi Club.

After approaching Doctor Who actor Graham Cole for an autograph, he was asked to leave prompting a stand-off which was only resolved by the intervention of police and university security guards.

Officers were called to allegations of an assault but after reviewing CCTV decided no further action was necessary and warned the groups to stay apart.

FEELING THE FORCE: DR WHO AND STAR WARS GO HEAD TO HEAD

A police spokesman added: 'After lengthy investigation, talking to witnesses and reviewing good CCTV footage, it was confirmed that there was no assault.

'The two rival groups were spoken to and advised to keep out of the way of each other.'

The row, which happened on Sunday at around 2.30pm, dates back to a long-running dispute between Norwich Star Wars Club and Norwich Sci-Fi Club and the annual events they organise.

The animosity had escalated in recent weeks with allegations of offensive posts on social networking sites.

Star Wars organiser Richard Walker, 63, said: 'It has been a long running saga. We aren’t a club to make waves and we have been going for 14 years without any problems until the Norwich Sci-Fi Club started making these demands.

'Mr Poole turned up with his three friends and were admitted because the person on the door did not recognise them.'

Star Wars Club secretary Dominic Warner added: 'We are a Star Wars club and they are mostly Doctor Who. We have our events and they have theirs. All this is very childish.

'They are knocking our reputation and saying we are trading off them, but we have been going for 14 years and we don’t need to trade off anyone. It should be live and let live.'

Feud: Richard Walker of the Norwich Star Wars Club said there had been a long-running dispute with the Dr Who group led by Jim Poole
Mr Poole said he had attended the event 'in good faith' to collect autographs from two actors for a Doctor Who signature diary to be auctioned for charity.

Norwich Sci-Fi Club is staging its own convention on September 8 this year.

Mr Poole, 44, of Lowestoft, Suffolk, said: 'There has been a long-standing feud between the two clubs because Mr Walker simply will not work with us. We got miffed when they decided to rename their event and call it a convention.

'It caused total confusion because people who had booked with us for our convention in September were thinking that the Norwich Star Wars Club was our one which had been moved to May.

'We have always wanted to see things smoothed over. We have held out the hand of friendship for a long time, but it has always been knocked back.'

The two groups have said they are having discussions about having a meeting to settle their differences amicably.

Rivals: More than a 1,000 people had turned up to the family sci-fi event before trouble broke out

SCS Ultimate Festival of Fantasy Logo 2020 small.jpg
The Festival of Fantasy has certainly lived up to it's billing. Wild swings, winners and losers.

Heading into the last week all but one team can live in hope of making the finals with a strong finish. The competition committee certainly got that aspect right, and must be mighty pleased with the outcome behind closed doors.

Sorry Jabukanji Stingers you can't make them, but you knew that already!

One of The Darkness and Dagobah Immortals can make it, with a clean sweep of the final week, but not both as they play each other in round 16.

Jordan's Jets FC, Roppongian Rangers and The Darkness play the lowly Stingers, and unless a minor miracle occurs, bag themselves easy points. As a result the Jets should maintain a top 2 position.

Every other match up is a toss up given recent form. We believe at SCSUL Media that it would be folly to try and predict the outcomes.

Selection, depth and player roles within games will determine competitiveness. Captain choices will be vital, and it might all come down luck with injury, the bounce of the ball and, dare I say, resting roles deployed by coaches .

Here is the run down of each teams position.

Playing his 200th AFL game this weekend and coach @Connoisseur is keen for Rocky to maintain his recent form (since returning from a few games on the sidelines) and ideally winds back the clock to 2014 to ensure Creme de la Creme are finals bound.

In a surprising decision much to the delight of @Goodie's Guns, @Connoisseur elected to select A Brayshaw instead of J Worpel as the 3rd selection from the 2017 draft class. Signed to a 5yr deal at $659,126 (back-ended), Brayshaw has performed wonderfully for Creme de la Creme and is currently boasting an average in excess of 100. His dual position status has come in handy to avoid donuts on multiple lines and hopefully he can manage to retain it in 2021.

Still negotiating with potential sponsors but for the time being I have made it mandatory for all players to bring their own football to training and other events to help reduce the amount of department spend.

The envy of all SCSUL coaches by selecting the most vaunted breakout of 2020 and has performed beyond our wildest expectations averaging 120+ in 2020. Very unlucky not to have received captaincy duties this season and is vying with L Neale for the title of best and fairest at Creme de la Creme. Christian is signed until the end of 2025 and has been vocal in his desire to be a one club player.
