Thoughts on Tom Lynch from GC especially if he takes over captain from Gaz, seems to step up in the games he had to take over whilst Gaz was injured
He's won me, like him a lot, thought about him this year

these players fit nicely into the breakout category for next year
all averaging around that 80-90 region this year and over the last part of the season have picked up their average by +10-20 points into that nice 110 average??

anyone else going to be watching these guys? i certainly will be.

4 of those 5 I had already pegged for big watches.
I posted when S Gray came back into the team that he was the T Mitchell of Port.
I can't remember if it was 2013 or 2014, but he was in the top possession getters in the SANFL that year, if not the top average possession getter.

Staying away from any risky propositions in the MID line, so that rules out Guthrie and Viney. Plus with the "discounted" options like Sloane, Rockliff, Ablett, etc., there won't be much room for these prospective picks in the MID anyway.

Bont will be awkwardly priced for a FWD at around $560k, so he's a maybe. Haven't really followed enough of Hunter to make a call on him.

Definitely the pick of the list would have to be Gray, but again, as Rowsus mentioned, it all depends on his role in the team, and whether we can rely on him for 22 games.

Good input.

If take Hunter as a defender next season.

Would take Bont FWD but i think he'll be pure mid.

Just remember that Wines was out and Gray may have been included for that inside midfielder spot (not sure). If The Bont is a FWD/MID, get on him. He will be playing purely midfield and resting in forward line.

Good call JW. Stats are great but they can also blur your judgement.

Wondering if any Collingwood supporters could give an insight on how they see Brodie Grundy next year. Could he be a viable starting R2 in SC? Jumped his average to 90 in 2015 and will be in his fourth year next and you would assume Collingwood's definite top ruckman.

Stick with 2 of the 4 dominant Solo rucks i reckon.
If Witts does get traded then it's worth investigating further

We've all been thinking of this the past 18 hours or so but it is time to put it down on paper (or computer).

What does Dangerfield leaving Adelaide and joining Geelong mean to both Crows and Cats midfielders?

Selwood averaged 120.9 in 2014. Now in 2015 only got to 104.8... that is priced around $560k I believe. Does Dangerfield help release Selwood from tags? Does Dangerfield take points away from Selwood? Will Selwood average a better first half of the season than he usually does?

The same and similar questions are asked about Sloane and Crow mids. Who comes in to replace Dangerfield? Does Brodie Smith become a viable option? Can Brad Crouch make it onto the park? Is Sloane worth skipping the start of the season to see if he gets tagged out of games?

Certainly there are a few players worth looking at but finding the right one is worth their weight in gold.

Great questions, and I have no answers at the moment other than to say that is reminds me of the Beams to Brisbane move this year.
- Beams did well with his new club
- If we ignore his injuries, Rocky did quite well also
- Pendles declined over the previous year, but finish up with a reasonable average of about 118

The Beams/Rocky performance is a little hard to assess as they were both injured for different parts of the year and they didn't always play in the same games.
Similarly with Pendles, I think he was carrying an injury for much of the season so his scores could have been impacted as much by that as the departure of Beams.

Can't see me starting with Selwood or Danger given their likely starting price.

I reckon 565k for Selwood who has a 6 year history averaging above 110 and playing most games is pretty tempting. One down season in the first year the Cats don't make the finals since he was drafted. I think with Danger and Hendo they may just return to finals in 2016.
