Been a bit gun-shy with getting rid of Ashcroft and Sheezel, so this is where I find myself. 5 trades left and no cash. Curious as to what everyone would do... Screenshot_20230706_154925_Chrome.jpg

Was scrolling through the 300-400k players looking for a fyfe replacement as f6/7.
Does anyone know anything at all about Sam Flanders? Good couple of games. Ideally I can decide before sheldrick plays tonight.
Edit: same goes for liam henry

Serious question - I see a lot of people bringing in Mills at $400k.

For the majority of people bringing him in, is he your M8 or just elite cover?

I am contemplating bringing him in as cover but will leave me on 3 trades and Johnson is my M9 cover. Doesn't seem worth.
For me atm he'll be M8 after trying first Steele and then Fyfe! Both have been spat out due to leaving a bad taste in my mouth! lol
Also I have Dunks and Oliver, again sitting on the pine this week, I'm playing leagues so if everyone else offloads them I'm hopefully of a stronger finish than those who dumped and run!!
I'm down to a few trades left so need a fallen prem like Mills to hopefully continue/start on a roll and for Horse to leave him in the guts for the rest of the year, so they can salvage a finals berth! Ever the eternal optimist :p
I also have Wilmot/Johnson/Chesser to fill the D7/M9 spot if required.

He really is an each way bet though! You know if given the role in the mids he can score well, though without his injury game he is scoring at 96 instead of 88, so with a fair wind in the last 1/3 of the season he could score well and average say ~105/110.
$$ is important but I'd rather pay up for him than Sheldrick at this point of the season, second year player could run out of steam in the last 4 or 5 five games.

My understanding about Flanders is he had a prime midfield role in the preseason, and looked good, so many ppl jumped on. Only for him to spud and find himself on a wing. Heatmaps for the last 2 games look good. CBA's in the last few look high as well.
Just be wary of Touk due back real soon and he could find himself on a wing again? Or he may be 1 bad game away from the 2's!
Hump looked good until he was sent to a FP.

I have a cavalcade of spuds that could easily end up M9 (Day or Steele). Might even just play Mills ahead of them regardless of where Mills plays or just starting looping them.
Just wondering if that's the correct collective noun.

I'm sure there are a murder of people on here that would know.;)

Personally think maybe a sack of spuds.

Thinking Dunkley to mid bench,

Mitchell & Wardlaw to Rozee and Mullin.

Not much room to move on that leaves 3k in the bank.

My team. I still have 5 trades left and the single upgrade of Fyfe to make.

A few of ideas:
- Fyfe to Mills, leaving 4 trades left and cover on every line
- Fyfe and Johnson to Serong and Cuningham, leaving 3 trades and some cuningham swing action to cover dunkley. Don't love his durability though
- Fyfe and Johnson to Mills and Sheldrick, pretty conservative option leaving 3 trades and Sheldrick to cover forward and mids.
- Fyfe and Johnson to Libba and Dewar, I get the big premo mid I want but no midfield cover. 3 trades left.

What do people think?

Oliver is the worst hold I've ever done in my time playing SuperCoach. Can't believe I held on for so long. Was hoping he would be back already but his latest setback means it's time to trade now.

My trades below:

Keeping S.Mitchell for defensive cover on the bench. Looping Sheldrick to cover for Dunkley this week. Got no idea what Cunningham's JS is like but here's hoping he stays in the Carlton side. Hopefully Maric keeps his place in the West Coast side too.

Leaves the team looking like this:

Yeo to Himmelberg
Piggy to Sheldrick

Next week turn Alwyn Davey into the best 600k mid available & join the No Trades Left club.

So the situation is this:
I have 3 trades left.
f6 and d6 need to be filled. currently held down by Cincotta (Constable Mullin), and Ford (Maric, Fyfe).
Wardlaw is on the mid bench and can't be fielded due to 8 pure mid premos (oops).

So between Fyfe and Wardlaw I have 762.3k to spend on 2 players. Do I take 2 mid pricers (Henry/Sheldrick/thomas types forward, Cox/Salem/baker types back), or 1 premo 1 rookie and let the new rookie duke it out with the incumbent for field position the rest of the season.

1 trade left after this. Can also grab one this week and hold off a week on the other, most likely the forward since Dunkley is currently being covered by Maric. This most likely commits me to the 2x mid pricer strat.

Oliver gone unfortunately.

Have 4 trades left and am full premo (albeit with Ziebs and Sheez).
I've got Himmelberg as cover for D7/F7.

Options at the moment:
Oliver to Neale or Stewart.

Probably struggle to get the other one in until finals. Feel like Neale is probably the priority at this stage?

Other than he was a failed starting pick for me at the start of the season….
Scored two tonnes in his two games back which is even more annoying

I know I said I'd hold my 2 remaining trades for $550k injury swings moving forward, but I'm now holding Jezza and a looming Fyfe donut.

Could do Fyfe to Sheldrick because I'm 35k shy from Mills. But I'm thinking if I'm going to use my second last trade, get an actual premo.

Trading Sheezel and moving Maric to F6 gets me $535.6k and could land me:
DEF - Lloyd, Dale, Doch or Ziebell. Unfortunately 8k off Ryan.
MID - Walsh, Mills, or even Keays. Sadly 5k short for Tom Green.
FWD - nobody noteworthy.

Even after typing this all out, I'm more reluctant. Just feel like I'd get more bang for my buck if I wait it out a couple more weeks. No one in my reach screams must have.
If you're in my situation below... do you trade Fyfe to Sheldrick? I'm 11k short of Mills...

Option 1 sounds good to me.

Trades are going at a premium at this point.
