Question for you all:
If you were starting up a new keeper league next year, who would be your top picks in each line?
I think players 26-27 years old is a rough 'cap' for top picks, as you want at least 4-5 good years from them to be worth a top pick imo.

I think some good ones (off the top of my head) would be Nick Daicos, Errol Gulden, Connor Rozee, Zac Butters, Tom Green, Chad Warner...
Who else do you like?
Def: Sicily will continue to largely monster our Def points.
Mids: Will Day and Jai Newcombe (smokey LT play, connor Mcdonald)
Ruck: Ned Reeves looks to have it over Meek for the time being, he's tall, can he score like Sandi? IDK.
Forward: Dylan Moore is probably your best bet on a Heeney type (hopefully without the injury risk) who could keep his forward eligible ranking. Mitch Lewis if you're looking for KPF with upside.

If you get others to shortlist their clubs emerging players you could then do some ranking...

I wouldn't sleep on the young Freo mids Brayshaw and Serong. I picked up Serong in a keeper league 2 years ago...

I think the interesting line next year will be up forward. All the best scoring forwards from this season in Dunkley, Rozee, Butters, Taranto, Gulden and Coniglio I'd say will all be mids only next season. Load up on other lines and try to go cheap up forward could be the way to go???

From how I see it he started the year with some niggles that held him back, has averaged 116 since getting past them around round 8, will priced around 108 average
3 consecutive years over 105 average and entering the beginning of prime years with around 120 games under the belt and apart from the broken jaw no long term injury history
Reeks of an Uber premo breakout, but there will be a few underpriced mid premos (touk, steele, mills, Walsh) so can’t say he’s a lock myself
What's his CP:UP ratio up to now? Isn't that the main thing as to why his ceiling now is basically a lower tier mid premo, too much uncontested and short handball stuff?

Zak Butters will likely be overlooked by many for next year after losing DPP but he is definitely on my radar.

Started slow but has averaged 117.4 since round 5 and seems to be getting better as the year goes on.

Dunkley another one who if this late season struggles continue over the next two weeks could make him enticing next year as well.

Butters is certainly on my radar to start at M4/M5 next season. I like him and Rozee from Port but I think Butters has a higher ceiling but I may start both depending on my structure.

#11 and #18 for average score for mids. (#15 and #24 overall).
Not sure you can take both as mid-only?

First season above 100 average for both, both coming from 90-odd last year. You'd expect some improvement from them as younger players, but Port have also got a few who will be wanting a bigger share of the SC pie sooner or later.

If I had to pick one, I'm taking Butters. Seemingly higher ceiling and anecdotally seems less likely to get shafted forward.

Rinse and repeat for another season with a cheap forward line with only one player above $450,000 joined by midpricers sub $350,000 and rookies. Another chance for Flanders but at F1 this time. :unsure:
I agree that it will be go cheap up forward again next season with no standout as a forward in 2024? I'd say all of the top forwards this season will all be mids only next season in Butters/Rozee/Dunkley/Taranto/Gulden/Coniglio. I agree that Flanders will be on my radar when you look at his late season form. Priced as average of around 85 (approx. $450k) but not sure he will be a forward as he has played a fair bit of mid time since coming back into the side later in the season? Hope he is because he will be considered for my F1 or F2 next season.

Don't let a predetermined strategy lock you out of a good player though...

Gulden's 22 games at 110 from a $472k start is hard to argue against :unsure:

That only becomes relevant if he leaves Melbourne and goes to a club to play as number 1 ruck.
Reckon the only ruckman Grundy leaving makes relevant is Gawn.

Will be pretty hard to deviate from English & Gawn if their current ruck setups continue.

Just looking at the bottom end, some names that jumped out at me:
* Jhye Clark - if Geelong are ever going to regenerate their side, it's now. Will be base price. (1@14)
* Elijah Hewett (13@46 would make him what, $250k or so?)
* Paddy Dow - probably only if he ends up getting traded (9@53)

Guys who might be underpriced?
* Matt Kennedy, especially if he holds DEF status. (14@75)
* George Hewett (18@78)
* Bailey Smith (19@80)
* Jack Steele? Can I let myself get burned by him again? (19@95)
* Touk Miller (12@98)

42 players have an average of 100+ this season. That feels low, but I don't have any historical data to cross check.

Will someone have the player % of position played after this weekend round. Likely for next season?
