Hi Rowsus, what are your thoughts on Brodie Smith as a defensive option to replace Hanley? Looks like he could have a breakout year.
Hi millsy,
I'm not 100% sure why, it could be their relative SC histories, but I like him better than Jaensch to continue his scoring this season.

With Hanley out i want to strengthen my back line. Any chance Jaensch will continue his average? Would it be worth trading a cash cow like tyson or ellis to him?
Hi Rowsus

Real quick question ... do you think Matthew Jaensch is this years Grant Birchall?

Cheers

Hi _Slip_
I'm still not convinced he's the "real deal" and won't drop off as the season goes on.
Certainly his price puts him in the higher risk catagory now, and I won't be getting him. He's on the growing list of players that might prove me wrong this season.
time saver response, as i just answered the same question 2 hours ago. :)

Rowsus thoughts on Hibberd vs McVeigh mate. Need someone that plays both Rnd 8 and Rnd 9.

My team is already pretty unique, so looking to consolidate.

quickie I prefer Hibberd, a player on the up, and Essendon generally are playing better than Sydney. I think McVeigh was just a spike last season.

Hi rowsus, first timer questioner but appreciate reading your thread. Question is do you think Hanley--riewoldt via McDonald dpp and taylor dpp, then caddy to fasolo, leaving me 26 trades and 100k in bank is decent move. next week potentially rohan to Lloyd?

Team would then be:

Mitchell, Simpson, swallow, suckling, Langdon, McDonald - clurey, georgiou
Ablett, pendles, selwood, beams, polec, Tyson, Ellis, dunstan - Taylor, bennell
Sandi, mummy - currie, derickx (will ride mummy absence)
Danger, roughie, dusty, riewoldt, Higgins, fasolo - rohan, jkh

Byes are ok ATM although rd 8 will be lean scoring.

Any advice appreciated.

gday mate… whats warnocks outlook for the season ..thanks
gday rockn,
I think he is largely SC irrelevant. If you have him, you keep him until you can upgrade him to a proper Prem, if you don't have him, don't get him. His 2 good scores this season were against inferior opposition (Hampson, Spencer) and he struggles against moderate or better Rucks.

Hi Rowsus...appreciate your work.
Unlike many questions, hopefully a question your yet to answer --> I'm looking to bring in a D6 option on the cheap with a view to hold off on a higher defender til Hanley comes back (and price is lower given high B/E) and then post bye.
What are your thoughts on: Matthew Broadbent and James Frawley.

My thoughts:
Broadbent --> nice age. wins the ball. Playing in a team I suspect is possible 4-5 position who will win games and score a lot of points.
Frawley --> Roos taken a liking. No.1 key position player. Going to go forward in win-able games; back when team under pressure.

Both POD's which i like.

Gracias muchacio

Hi ****,
I don't mind that scenario at all. It re-establishes your Taylor DPP link, too.
I think NRoo might be a bit over-priced, but you are getting good improvement in your team, and getting a good DPP link set up.

LOL, I have to laugh happydays.
I had Broady in my team all the way up to the death knock for the season to start, and I've been trying to convince myself to NOT get Frawley as a good POD.
Either is worth the risk, but I would probably not go there if you are flying high in the top 1,000. Then the risk might be too high.

Thanks for quick feedback. Would Pav be better idea to provide more cash and thinking he could become top 6?

LOL, thanks.
Ranked 8k 1st year playing. Suppose all the top 2k on Jeansch...blah.
Reasoning a need to be a little creative and think outside the box; take a risk.
I want one of the two with a view to upgrading D3 to Hanley in 3 weeks; D4 to S.Thompson in Rd9, and cash-pending, Bartel in their somewhere at some point.

If broady is a lock at HB-flank, i think he is a great POD who can average upto 90 in a team that I think will score big. A competitor is KSimpson. A) he is 50k more. B) To the opposite, I think carlton suck and there will be a lot of games where he is scaled-down; c) I want a POD.

Frawley...kinda as you imply, high-risk, high-reward...will avg 70 for the year or go monster?

Do you think Broady is a lock at HBF for Port for the year? Rd1 vest a Rd1 one-off? -- or just needs to continue pumping out form as he has the past 2 weeks to solidify that spot ?

:)

Hey Rowsus, not sure if its been asked (and I know I was pretty much set in Minson yesterday) but is there an argument to be made for for Trent West? Will give me tons of cash to make an upgrade next week in defence

There is an argument for it, that being he will be the number 1 ruck for Brisbane and he has the round 10 bye.

But the counter argument is pretty well summed up by Nk29:

He is rubbish. Do not do it.
The main issue is that really he would be a 'Holding Pattern' ruckman as he clearly won't be in the top 2 or 3 ruckman for the year so you will have to upgrade him later. Thus if you are having a holding pattern option then you also have to consider the likes of HMac, Hickey, Hampson etc.

Yeah for me that's the biggest problem. He will need an upgrade, and combined with Sandi who will get his annual injury that's 3 trades to do from now in the ruck alone. I just think I need to take a risk or 2 to try and get back inside the top 10000. Reason I looked at West is his bye, HMac is the preferred choice but can't handle round 8 bye
