Terrible idea.

...means it will definitely happen. :rolleyes:
Probably does. AFL will also pour much more money into the GCS probably given that it is part of the new CEO plan to grow the game in the northern states. They got the coach they wanted slotted into GC so why not throw the kitchen sink at them as well.

Soldo,'s price? Might be an option now at Port, so many ruck choices.
He only played 8 games this year, so not sure what the minimum requirement is to be priced at (if there is one at all), but with an average of 87, he won't be mid-priced. He did play less games this year than last year so he should get a discount.

Grundy is such an interesting conundrum going into next year.

On pure numbers think he is just a pure lock if he gets back to the clear number 1 ruck role.

This statement works on the assumption that his usage last year was just situational which I believe to be true.

Here is some averages from Grundy from 2018 onwards broken down by his ruck contest %;

Now here is Grundy's number of games that fall into each category per year;

If he gets back to the workhorse number 1 ruck in Sydney then sign me up based on this.

Soldo, and possibly Sweet both going to Port, not sure who would be their #1 ruck with both there - probably Sweet. I'd pass. 87 average is mid-high 400K range I believe, but may be wrong.

Edit: Sweet to Port trade now confirmed.

Soldo likely retains F/R status, only 52% CBAs, might be bias as I am a Soldo fan but I think he'd be ahead of Sweet.

4 games without Nank / he had >40% CBA, he went 85, 126, 79 and 128.

Price a bit yuck but if he's clear #1 after PS games I like it.

This, Soldo should be a forward, without a discount he's more interesting, with a discount he's probably just about a lock if he clearly wins the #1 spot. Given how much more they paid for him than Sweet it's probably a decent indicator who they rank higher. Not sure I personally agree with that though, I liked what I saw from Sweet more than Soldo has shown.

Worth noting that Port still have Lycett, Hayes, Visentini and Finlayson on top of Dixon who could also go back to ruck if Lord, Marshall and Georgiades can do what they want from them forward as Dixon played by far his best football as a ruck, I don't expect that though.

Footywire says Lycett and Hayes are out of contract so both still could be delisted?

I’m confused.. with Jonis retiring and 3-4 delisting.. haven’t they done that? I’m pretty sure they don’t need to draft 3 players, just release a minimum of 3 players? (Eg Port lost 5 total and brought in 3?)
The way I see it;

Jonas retired, Bonner delisted, Duursma traded; Teakle and Dumont both rookies delisted. Barkla category b (doesn't count in the 42) delisted.

Soldo, Sweet, Rat, Bzt traded in. Narkle midseason draft to the rookie list.

We have created minus 1 spots on the main list, 1 rookie spot. (And a cat b spot)

Currently 38 + 4 on the list with lycett, Hayes and fantasia out of contract. 38 is the maximum number on the main list . Can be 36 + 6. So regardless of upgrades (Williams?) we must delist minimum another three players.

From asking a few Richmond supporters in discord, they seem to think Soldo will be ruck only. His tog is quite low - 69%. He should be better then Sweet but Sweet might be a threat at some point to his spot. Xerri as a forward is probably guesswork, I'll [pick him if he gets forward status. Not that interested as a ruck only. Didn't realise Gawn was only priced at 103, I've just swapped him in for English on my spreadsheet,

Was looking at another persons proposed team today and they had planned for Nick Daicos as D1. My question is - will Daicos still be a defender or mid-defender at the start of 2024 season? I thought he would've spent enough ime in the midfield to be a pure mid. If he is listed as a defender he would almost have to be a lock?

Also, is there any chance Petracca is a mid/forward? He spent a fair bit of time up forward, especially during the finals. Fingers crossed he is as he would be a lock for F1 which would be good because I don't know who else will be worthy picking at the moment. Could be looking at a cheap forward line again for 2024 to spend more on mids and defence.

Also, I'm pretty locked on Gawn/Grundy combination in ruck with a R/F as my F2/F3 e.g. Xerri/Soldo if R/F unless one of Gawn/Grundy has an injury interrupted pre-season.

Yeah not sure on Petracca will be close for dual position status
