If you've had a look, who stands out as our best distributor from the back line?

To be honest, there doesn't seem much besides Sheezel. Or at least many I'd trust by hand and foot under pressure.

I don't think the talk was specifically about Sheezel playing forward, just that he wasn't fully sure where he'd be deployed yet.
Yes, agreed.

Spends the rest of his day at NRT in that position with short bursts through the midfield. Not many I can recall that seem to have the time with the ball at such a young age.
Sheezel.and Fischer at HB, where do you see your #1 draft pick lining up.? Can he slot into the Tarryn Thomas role.?

Will be VERY interesting to see who plays in the underrated J Silvagni role in the forward line and if it will still be a relief ruckman type or a reworked forward structure with Tommy and Pitts looking after the rucking.

As a Carlton supporter I am looking forward with interest to the pre season telecasts.
Martin and Cotrell will take that role. Throw in E Holland's after ban for the link between mid and fwd line.

I think he will start in Shez distribution role last year for preservation and to protect their star and to use his skill in backine. Shez will take Thomas role who was on last chance so is cooked.

Break out vs Fallen Premium.......easier when there is history of scoring.

Remember when Wines the quadzilla was talked up, hit 100 in his 2nd season then took to his 8th to go again. for $30k, Wines looks a lot better than JHF based on probability and whilst JHF has the pedigree to go big many have been talked about and not reached it.
Issue with Wines is he cannot kick and with the midfielders he will be sharing time with, it will be to the detriment of the team if he decides to do so. Historically boasts a low time on ground, so overly reliant on recording 30+ disposals on a regular basis whereas JHF’s game style is much more suited to Supercoach. Wouldn’t consider either as starters as mids only in SC but feel Horne-Francis has the higher ceiling this season.

Wines ave 112 in 2021 Brownlow year, last 2 seasons injured with no pre season, played out of position due to fitness, ave 105 in 2022, only 29, back to inside mid role, will ave significantly higher than his 463k price point, but can he get to 105 ave to make it a good selection?

Saw a report that Bevo is once again playing pin the tail on the bulldog with magnets.
Role changes: Ed Richards featuring “in the guts” after a terrific 2023 season at halfback, and Bailey Dale playing up forward. Caleb Daniel was also spotted in the middle.

Bailey Dale the weirdest out of the lot here. With Richards, I'm guessing they are trying to find some foot speed in the middle, but they'll lose all rebound off half back if that's the case.

Daniel was already playing mid minutes and he's on my watchlist currently with the lack of forward options - probably liking him over Macrae at the moment but neither are in my side.

I think a lot of sides would be locking him in except for their round 3 bye. This is why I'm not starting him.
Yeh he's in and out of my side at the moment.
The issue is that I've also got Flanders locked in at the moment and have played around with Touk as an option too. Really trying to just have one premo out per bye round in those first few mini-bye weeks.

The midfield feels really stacked this year as well.
Other than Bont, it feels like spots 2-8 in the midfield premos could go to 15-20 players.

Based on starting value, the players currently outside that top 8 midfielder group that are looking to move up are Butters, LDU, Gulden, Serong, Green, Brayshaw, Parish, Walsh and then fallen premos like Touk and Steele.

It's why people are opting to the Butters, LDU, Serong, Parish and Steele options to avoid that early bye. Then it becomes a choice between Walsh, Touk, and Green if you're comfortable taking a hit on an early bye round - and Walsh (and to a lesser degree Touk) at their price point makes more sense.

I know some people have tossed up the idea of starting Green and trading to Walsh at Round 3 after the Blues bye but I'm not sure I'm on board with that. I think Green and Walsh are two that I want in my team by mid year so starting one, trading him to the other, just to find another way to trade the other in a few weeks time feels like a lot of work and likely lead to

The extra trades definitely help, but we also know what happens in Rounds 1-3 every year where we realize we've missed must have rookies/ mid pricers and we don't want to be locking in to missing them for the sake of a pre-planned premo switch to accomodate a bye.

Anyway... will likely change my side 29 times in the next 29 days, so it's all a guess at the moment.

Think people need to look deeper into the Eagles points spread and decide what a realistic average from Yeo actually is, they get pumped for points in losses and have Port,Dogs,Giants,Swans the first month and then back it up with Gold Coast, Freo and Richmond who all beat them comfortably at least once last year.

Reckon you're far more likely to get 90-100 than 105+ personally and hes priced at 80, Kelly for instance was clearly their best player and only went at 102 for the season.

Is anyone out there seriously considering Yeo?

That is a question, not directed at your post @Shaunpro1

I'm seriously trying hard not to. He made it into my team last year....well the bench mostly.🫣 Theae posts are good at highlighting the additional risk, for little reward such a pick is. Fyfe is also not here in 2024.
