I have this sinking feeling that the game has gone past me - my rankings fall away as the years progress. Partly that may be because of Ben's Beasts rule (new kid = bad SC year) but I also think I haven't adapted property to the changing rules. I have always traded aggressively and chased ceiling and value over security, and I think most people do that now because of the extra trades and so I've lost any edge from that, without gaining anything in return.
Edit: I think your team looks refreshing by the way. Less cookie cutter with some risk and a few PODs.
Pretty gutsy call on Clarry. Never write off a champion and all but beware the dodgy pre-season. His hasn't been so flash, I'm told. Bont & English will either make or break your year but I've used enough words on that elsewhere.
Many are foregoing Macrae and I don't know if that's the best course. Only reason I don't have him atm is that I can't afford him with some of the other things I'm trying out. I don't think he will get out of price range real quick so he's not a must-have at the start. Reckon we might want him by the end though. Think he's a good pick.
The Fyfe call is killing me. I'm running with Rachele at the moment because I see Adelaide taking the next step this year and him being a big part of it, at least during early bye season.. But Fyfe at $283k and full time mid...
Ridley... Yeah I gave up on him either last year or the one before. Broke my heart too often. I know the hope seems to be that he will be freed up to take more of those intercept marks but if they were all they were cracked up to be we'd all have Lever and Moore in our teams. Brad Scott has had an entire year to show us he likes Ridley kicking out and has failed to do so. Had a 101 year and now 3 years in the 90s. Is 25 now so I suppose that's a good age for a tall back to step up a level but am yet to see any reason why he should.
