I know we haven't played all preseason games but less than 20 days out i'm struggling to make a decision on the following

D4: Assume the majority of coaches will pick premo's D1-D3, its what to do for D4. Do we go for a 'value pick' and hoping they can be top 6 (likes of NWM, Yeo, etc) or a 'breakout' / role change player (Budarick, Weddle, etc) or just go Williams and 2 rooks (maybe D'Ambrosio is an option).

M6: Discounted premo (Steele, Mrouch, etc) or start the McKercher, Sanders and another rook and spend elseware (fwd line - yuck)

F1: Really dont like any premo's from the fwd line, all have their negatives imo, maybe this is the line to go for the 'breakout' player and hope/prey it comes off

Names mentioned above are just examples, just trying to illustrate the point

You're not on your own with this @Misky.
For me it's D4, M6, and F2 that constantly change, trying to find the right balance.
It just keeps on going around in circles.

Still so much to play out as you say, but my current feelings:

D4: Assume the majority of coaches will pick premo's D1-D3, its what to do for D4. Do we go for a 'value pick' and hoping they can be top 6 (likes of NWM, Yeo, etc) or a 'breakout' / role change player (Budarick, Weddle, etc) or just go Williams and 2 rooks (maybe D'Ambrosio is an option).
D4: Looking more and more likely D4 is a premium for me, with Williams D5, Coffield/Gibcus D6. I can see a world where I move back to Williams D4, as I do like D'Ambrosio and Gibcus. I guess a lot to playout with all of Williams/D'Ambrosio/Gibcus/Coffield.

M6: Discounted premo (Steele, Mrouch, etc) or start the McKercher, Sanders and another rook and spend elseware (fwd line - yuck)
M6: I like all of McKercher/Sanders/Hustwaite/Roberts, so definitely have a rookie at M6 for mine. I've actually got a rookie at M5 currently but it's probably slightly too thin.

F1: Really dont like any premo's from the fwd line, all have their negatives imo, maybe this is the line to go for the 'breakout' player and hope/prey it comes off
F1: See what Dusty shows me on Tuesday night, but if he's not my F1, Flanders will be. Likely have both. I don't see too many negatives with either, I'd be shocked if they weren't top 6 forwards. The only negatives I see for both of them is the early bye (yes, Dusty's age/role could be an issue but I expect/hope neither will be)

At this stage I can see a lot of cash gen coming from the midfield, unfortunately that's also where discounted premos are. However, rookies dictate structure - I don't really see the rookies in defence that will crush your season if you don't have them and in fact if you go only a few premos there you could end up with a dead weight D8. I'm leaning therefore to at least 3 premos, more likely 4, in defence and probably an MP at D5 like Buda or ZW.

I'm running 1 premo forward, several MPs there latest team; 3 premo mids + Martin + an MP, but this could also end up being just 5 pure premo mids, though I LOVED the look of Martin yesterday. He's almost a lock for me right now in the midfield.

Still many games left before we have to lock everything in.

Totally agree with M6 mate.
D4 is Young for me and F1 is Flanders

Think you are close to the mark with this. I decided early in terms of keepers that it would be 4 in def, 5 in mids, 2 rucks and 1 forward and Harmes at F2. Have flirted with a few changes but never got to anything I was comfortable with. Would love to have Martin M6 (originally wanted Amon in that spot) but the cash is just not there without major changes.

I feel 11 to 12 Keepers will keep a good scoring structure with best 18s happening. Any more and I think we could have some non playing rooks after a few rounds in.
Time will tell. There's a lot of unknown on what the best starting structure will be .
Lots of different sides which is great.
