Always been impressed with Jordon when watching him for the Demons. Very happy that we’ve grabbed him as a recruit this season. Hopefully gets the opportunity required to show what he’s got at this level!

Roberts looking great. Probably confirms he will be in a lot of sides assuming he’s selected rd0.

Sexton confirming himself as the forward cash cow to get.

Flanders I’m probably thinking of flicking. Was never super keen on him and is more of a defensive pick. Will mull over it and see how he goes rd0.

At least we'll see Grundy R0, I'll have a plan if things look like going pear shaped.

Hopefully we get more news on Nankervis, he'll be a big piece on how I pivot, will defeinately consider him as R2 with R/F cover.

Can't believe how many people are chopping and changing based on one game, let alone a practice game. Supercoach isn't won based on the form of one practice game.

I agree, it's great to see trends in play, look for the advantages of seeing Sexton. Jordon, or Roberts score a ton, etc, but people dropping Grundy, Flanders, adding Greene blows my mind.

Despite some of these R0 players really testing my resolve this weekend, I have now removed most of them from my team. I can justify a couple of rookie priced players due to the benefit their DNP loophole may provide on their bye.

However, the R0 player mission next week, should they choose to accept, will be to demonstrate why the risk of not starting them will be too detrimental to my season long chances!

Grundy really never considered, only when Flynn did his hammy, but quickly moved on. Flanders or Ainsworth were flagged by Dimma as a Dusty prototype, Ainsworth only 4 touches tonight. I flipped Flanders to Greene, similar price, extra bye for both, Greene more consistent, had his 1st child delivered and captaincy has made him grow. Commentators stating he was passing or handballing to younger team mates trying to get them involved more, Cadman was one of those to benefit. He seems more driven now, no issues fielding him.

Now this is a personal observation from me about swans games and rucks over the years, and I could be completely off the mark.

Swans style of play is not conducive to large ruck scores. We rarely get the ball out of stoppages quickly, so the amount of hit outs might be high, but hitouts to advantage are a lot rarer than they are for other teams. This immediately puts Grundy at a disadvantage.

Couple this with the fact we play half our games on a very narrow and small field in the SCG, where counter attacking causes a lot of players to be bypassed in plays. This means Grundy is less likely to get back in defence and potentially get forward in attack to be involved in link up plays.

So I think, it’s not the fact that Grundy won’t be good enough nor the opportunity as sole ruck, but the factors of his teammates and ground make it very difficult for him to score those monster totals.

Couple this with the fact we use a couple of chop out rucks in McLean and Amartey at times and I’m really starting to doubt Grundy outperforms the very top rucks. 105-110 average is where I think he will sit.
