by r6 naismith could be a downgrade to livingstone trade with nank back up and running. I imagine a bunch of people will be considering that in 6 weeks time, to free up cash and have the bonus of moving jackson in as gawn cover for the bye.
Sorry, are we now saying nank is out for that long?

Ah but I'm not looking for or needing a breakout from him. His first 4 years have gone 58, 71, 84, 97.

He'll I don't even need him to keep up with his natural progression 😀

Yeah he's pretty well a lock for me now. The late season injury coverage in the ruck when trades will be at a premium is worth saving one now.

Agree….people selecting Jackson only because Darcy is injured need to be prepared to hold him as a keep and take the 70-80 scores that may come their way when Darcy returns…
At $547k it’s a waste if you are going to trade him out just for a quick cash grab if he has a flying start to the year…
Lets also not forget he is coming off concussion in his last game…how will this impact him?
I don't think it's a waste - we do have a heap of trades and plenty of people have been speculating (prior the injury) going Tom Green to start the year and flick to Walsh after the bye.

This gives me an option of rolling with Jackson, banking bulk points for 5 -8 weeks and always having the option to go for the right mid premo from there as a sideways. You're always going to have at least one sideways trade a year - might as well make some points while doing it

It's a moot point anyway. One could easily start all of Jackson, Miller, Steele and Martin.
Looks like I might be.

Wasn't too keen on Steele as I think he'll probably need to be traded out and I couldn't afford Martin. But Howes's effort first up means I can downgrade Green to Steele, Ambrosio to Howes and upgrade Billings. I get a round 3 premium back and will now only be short the one in Touk. I'm worried I'll be missing Green's opening games but the analysis of his lack of downhill skiing ability has me spooked. If He blows up I can look to him early on.

Heeney looked incredible. F1 type good.

Only concern is, does the role stay the same when Parker, Adams and then eventually Mills returns?
I really want to see us transition Parker out of the midfield. He's a very good forward and I think it's time to put the much more dynamic Heeney there and let Parker be 90% of the forward Heeney is anyway. Mills is 10+ weeks away and has his own issues. He didn't play much midfield at all last year. Adams shouldn't be a problem but we're talking Horse so he could be.

Ultimately, I think Heeney is just a low risk pick. He was injured last year and so his scoring dropped off ~10 points from his normal scoring when playing as a forward. If he just gets back to that, he's a good pick and a top 5 forward barring significant changes. This role is just icing on the cake of an already sound pick, if he keeps it and plays even close to tonight, he's a legit F1 candidate as you said.

Yep, agreed with Parker. A brilliant forward, strong overhead and creative enough around the goals. Just makes sense that move.

Do fear Horse could through Adams into the mix, especially early on once he's back. The whole play a bloke in his best (only) position to make him feel valued etc. Which is all well and good, just not if it sees Heeney parked forward.

Really starting to like the pick, the next issues becomes the byes. Or do we think by then we could be flicking a Roberts and/or Jordon to kick start the upgrades process, and ultimately find an additional premium to help cover those missing?
