I can’t believe I’m asking but after trading English in this week, I’m going to swing Jackson to the rucks to avoid the English E, move my loop Livingstone forward, take Darcy’s E score, so I can have a crack with both Cadman and Wilson on field in the hope they outscore 58 - right? 😂

Btw as a dogs supporter I went to the game and English looked disinterested and slow around the ground.

Glad I stuck with Gawn VC

Quick question - If you rolled the dice and went with C on Bont but he ends up in your bottom four players and therefore his score does not count in your best 18, do you then get Gawn's VC score?

EDIT: Or does the "double score" represent his score for the round and therefore is included in best 18?

noticed that too, didn't seem to run hard from my observation. first time this year he appeared this way? haven't seen much of him this year, obviously regret trading him in this round...

No, I think score would drop out of best 18 and not count so you’d get the VC score

He wasn’t following up ruck contests quite the same against Geelong last week. His contested ball and tackle count were down.

Bevo's press conference ...
You made reference to Bevo's press conference then left a blank space after that.

I assumed you were making an observation about Bevo's ability as a coach. A blank space seemed so appropriate. Sometimes saying nothing says more than any amount of words can explain.

You were succinct and scalpel sharp. I like it.

I was incensed when I saw that Beveridge had subbed Sanders off for 43 (scaled up to 46 after the match).

Then I realised he had also subbed Sanders off in Rd 1 for 43.

So I decided to do a deep dive on our "Mr Beveridge".

Turns out that:
  • He was offered the Bulldogs head coaching job by Simon Garlick towards the end of the 2014 AFL season while still assistant at Hawthorn at the age of ... 43
  • His record number of disposals as a junior playing for St Peters Football Club in Bentleigh East was ... 43
  • His great-grandfather, Paul Beveridge, died on 28 February 19 hundred and ... 43
  • His father, legendary Saints recruiter John Beveridge, was born in 1939. However, that was an accident and his grandfather, legendary Pies centreman Jack Beveridge, and grandmother Mercia had not intended to conceive until 19 hundred and ... 43
  • He played 42 senior games for his first AFL club, Melbourne. Aha! you say, that's not enough. Yes but he also played one night match for them for a grand total of ... 43
  • He is an unabashed admirer of gritty Dogs defender Ryan Gardner who wears number ... 43
  • He is a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan and his favourite player of all time is Pro Football Hall of Famer, safety Troy Polamalu who wore number ... 43. Next week Beveridge plans to send him a DM to congratulate him on turning ... 43
  • He was head coach of the Dogs at the time of the 2021 National Draft when they took Arthur Jones at pick number ... 43
  • His favourite meal at the Boundary Hotel is the chicken parmigiana and chips (no salad thanks) which is on the menu as item number ... 43
I think the evidence is compelling. I am now convinced that Beveridge is a member of a numerology cult that worships the number 43.

Unless he is removed, and quickly, he will keep subbing off Ryley Sanders when he reaches the score of 43 to satisfy some sick paganistic desire or as an unholy tribute to his numeric deity.

For the sake of the integrity of both the Supercoach competition and the broader competition as a whole, he needs to go.

Your move AFL. The football world is watching.

Brilliant.
I think I can explain his obsession with 43!
Bevo was a big My Chemical Romance fan, and was devastated when they broke up! He owned all 43 songs that they ever released!
It's also a little known fact, that Bevo studied Advanced Chemistry in his younger days, and was obsessed with chemical elements with unstable isotopes. Well, wouldn't you know it? The lowest element on the periodic table, with unstable isotopes is Technetium! Yes, you guessed it, it is the 43rd element on the periodic table! He became so obsessed with 43, he would try and use it, and find it, at every opportunity!
Rumour has it Bevo stood at the counter at McDonalds one day, mumbling to himself "If I buy a 20 pack, then a 9 pack ....... no that won't work! What if I buy three 9 packs .....", trying to order 43 McNuggets, until he had a complete break down! You see, 43 is also the Chicken McNugget number! It is the LARGEST number of McNuggets you can't buy from McDonalds, using their standard 6, 9, and 20 packs of McNuggets.
It is also the smallest Prime number, that can be expressed by adding 2, 3, 4, or 5 Prime numbers together.
41 + 2 = 43
31 + 7 + 5 = 43
29 + 7 + 5 + 2 = 43
17 + 11 + 7 + 5 + 3 = 43

6/639 Proj 1874 VC Gawn, flirted ever so briefly with Bont as Cpt after watching Rozee put on a clinic last week but common sense prevailed and stuck with Gawn. New boy Martin did well in a quiet game, my other serious trade in option this week was Libba, so the saved 90k odd and 1pt diff very satisfying, with English putting in a stinker I’m glad I held Grundy who in a fortnight’s time may only need 100k to upgrade him to, but with Darcy chewing into his pts I’m not in a hurry, speaking of Darcy that was a hundred pt game that got away from him but glad I own him, if him and Dempsey can keep pushing out those 80’s for another month SC life will be a lot easier.
