Clohesy is 100% coming in, just a matter for who.
Original plan was one of Mass or Zac to unlock the funds but they both did well and has some cash left to make.

Alternative is moving on the deadwood Pink but that generates nothing much, meaning I can't do my planned mid upgrade.

Decisions decisions...
I was of similar vein moving on Massimo… after watching Bevo with Sanders it may be Sanders moving on to bring in my next premium…
I don’t like it but can’t trust in the stalling of cash gen..also can’t get caught up in wanting to keep the rookies if it gets me to another premium.

Massimo is a good player. Still only 20 years old, doesn't avoid the contest, penetrating left foot kick. I'd like to hold for a bit longer if I can.
When I originally brought him in rd2 I was hoping he’d be the longer term rookie that I could move on last as his scores keep me afloat. The scores the couple weeks before made it hard, but that 94 definitely makes things easier to stay the course.

Probably start moving on guys like Carroll and Sanders. Need a 2nd rookie target to downgrade to as I already have Clohesy. May just go to Comben if he backs up last week’s performance today.

Probably get Hayden Young back. Think I'd put him at D4 for the season behind Ryan, Sheezel, Daicos. Last two slots I'd guess are between Stewart, Martin and Houston. Sicily doesn't look interested this year. Annoyingly own Whitfield who needs 30 to scrape a tonne.

Carroll>Young
Sexton>Graham

If Comben looks good then will boost him in for Jhye Clark. Crouch I'm guessing is out for 1-2 weeks with susp so going to hold and still flip him on the last bye. Going to give Sanders another go, unfortunately coach by a lunatic.

Would love to have Ryan and Merrett but they are so expensive

Totally agree.

Even if the likes of , Clohesy , D'Ambrosio , Williams (all that I own that need to be eventually upgraded) get to the $ 350-375k mark still going to be looking at trying to find $ 200k ish each to get them to a Sicily , Sinclair , Stewart , fingers crossed Clohesy is a D keeper.

Not sure where I am finding that sort of cash.

Been tracking the 3 S's each round though through the projections on Footywire.

Already realise Ryan won't be in my team this season.

Starting and trading out Martin is looking worse and worse (in hindsight)

I doubt I will have enough cash after :-

Campbell - > Graham
Cadman - > Player X
Reid , H - Player Y

to even be able to get both Walsh & Petracca.

So then it's a waiting game until Brown , Clark 😲 , Graham , Wilson + the unknown Player X & Y generate enough cash for further upgrades.

Hence why I have been looking at May , to see whether he offers some value as a trade in.

Also been tracking D Cameron & Witts as ruck options along with the usual suspects in the mids like Dawson , LDU , Oliver & Parish may get to cheap to totally ignored

Again ideally I would love to be able to bring in guys like Dunkley & Gulden along with Walsh & Petracca and end up with that "perfect" team.

Without the funds though it ain't going to happen.

Just go through everything at the end of the round like usual and go through averages , BE , price projections etc etc and see what options are available for my team and circumstances.

Need some more info on injuries to King and Meek as well.
TBH I think that the rookie crop this year (so far) will suffice, F4, F5 & F6 could well be filled by Zorko, Baker & Powell, plus the cheap starting players like Heeney, Jackson and Flanders. That's a fair bit different to what we had to stump up last year. Maybe the same could be said for D5 & D6 with the likes of Young and Martin.

Watched him during his days with the Tigers VFL, wasn't happy to see him poached by the Dons. Hopefully he can stay the course along with Williams, although Clohesy and Graham look like fieldable options and I don't want to leave those scores behind either.

That would be a great idea if I was smart and actually traded in Darcy & Dempsey when they were on the bubble 😀

Currently running :-

Heeney , Jackson , Flanders , J Cameron , Powell & M King

Darcy & Dempsey keep going 80+ , see how Comben follows up today very easily fill F4-6 until the multi Bye rounds.

Darcy could touch $ 400k.

Interesting to see who the Top forwards end up being at the end of the season , good to see KPF up amongst it and not just picking 6 mids for our forward line.

Martin is averaging just short of Daicos , so once DPP kicks in he looks likely Top 10.

Traded Young out the same time I traded Martin out so haven't been tracking his scores since.

Again some different names in defence (so far) that no one was talking about pre season , how long they can maintain it though.

The conundrum for me is whether I continue on the path of eliminating rookies from the field (will have 3 on field after round 7) or hold fire until the main byes given that Roberts, Clohesy, Graham, Reid, Dempsey and Darcy all look like fieldable options. If I do go down the 2nd path then it also makes sense (for my team) to bring in a FD and take advantage of the Dempsey/Darcy loop and the Roberts/Graham/Reid loop. Clohesy would come onto the field if I cash out Massimo or Williams

Definitely some interesting choices coming up for coaches with the likes of Walsh appearing , Petracca and Green dropping , I also don't mind Dunkley and Gulden as mid options.

Can we all resist Dawson , LDU , Oliver & Petracca ?

Can't get them all and without cash it limits things.

The hard part can be staying on your own path and not getting "distracted" by what others are doing and then wondering why you can't do the same.

Some will have a trade plan in place , others will just spend all their money ASAP and then wonder why they are limited in a few rounds time.

I guess I was hoping the likes of D'Ambrosio , McKercher , Roberts , Sanders , Sharp , Williams would score well enough to get around that $ 350-375k mark.

Still need a lot of cash though to get them to ultra premiums.

One poor score slows the whole process though , although a good score (then backed up again) kick starts it again.

A fine balancing act as to when to hold or let go.

I think the Best 18 rounds have been good this year , the very good coaches will start forging ahead in the Round 7-11 block.

Went early on Clohsey.
This may change but may forgo Comben in to get an upgrade.
Sanders, Carroll and Clark for Mcauliffe(if named as starting this game and gets a 60+) Graham and Touk. Wouldn't be able to get in an upgrade doing Comben instead of Mcauliffe and not ready to cull many of my other rookies yet.

Can also keep Sanders and just get Graham and Comben in but don't trust Bevo.

Edit: Forgot about Richmond bye and also have Mckercher to deal with now.
