RE:...."If the premium you are targeting is also going up in value then you don't need to worry so much about missing that last $50K on the rookie....."
If I am understanding this correctly,
the $50k that a Rookie will make can be used later for an upgrade, but the Premium you are trading in, even though going up in value, will likely be a Keeper, so there will be no benefit to help in future upgrades.
It's about the price differential. If there is an underpriced premium you can get now who is going to go up by the same amount as your rookie might, and there is no other current option to get that underpriced premium, then I think you jump now.
What's the difference in going $330K rookie to $550K premium now versus $380K rookie to same premium but $600K later? It's still $220K spent.
Points on the board is the difference.

Thanks for the responses - think I am going to play the long game & go McKercher > Graham, 1 of Campbell/Carroll/Sanders (if sub) > Combden. Keep the cash flowing in for future upgrades with Walsh still at the same price next week, Petracca will be at a nice price in a few weeks also.

Important week to keep an eye on the future for the Trac upgrade & English bottom out alongside Meeks peak. Doesn't feel like an upgrade week to me but might not quite have a finger on the pulse. I'm apprehensive to spend the bank the week before DPP changes.

Easy for me to say as someone who doesn't own, but if I did own Jackson I'd hold. Fairly confident he will be in our final sides so might as well just hang on for the ride and see what happens. Walsh and Petracca are great targets for the next couple of weeks. Are you fully sold on Comben?

Dawson and LDU are depressing me and I don't even have them in my team
That makes it doubly worse for idiots like me who do have one of them
In a team that is woeful, if it worth a boost to bring Comben in at the expense of Clark (via Reid)

Other moves are looking like Draper and McKercher for Flanders and Graham
Are you asking for a friend?

His role is excellent/ durability a real worry - the other factor is he will become a fwd/def so can be swung into defence later on also. There should be a lot of ball in North's backline you would suspect so in theory he should get plenty of scoring opportunities every game. If he scores 90 this week then he jumps up 77k, an average of 90 per game till round 9 gets him to around 400k/ 170K profit. He made a couple of bad clangers last week v the cats otherwise he would of scored about 90 (scored 75) so it makes me think he could score close to that 90 mark over the next month which makes him viable.

It's a fair point. I am not really too short on warm bodies, but I am short on players who will earn points and make money.

McKercher is likely to drop cash, hence in the firing line. Longer term he still has cash to make, so it depends on my mind term view of my team.

Carroll, in spite of last week, has a BE of sub 50, so theoretically could still kick on. Draper I don't see making much cash, or being useful from a points perspective, so moving him on I can justify, even if taking him only made me 45k.

I want to bring in 1 "premo" this week as a minimum, just can't work out whether there is one or more must have rookies (or even mid pricers). Graham I have as a must take (and needs to replace a defender so I can swap with Daicos (who ended up in the mids when I brought Clohesy in last week). So either Reid, Windsor or Howe goes.

Then in the mids Carroll and Clark need to go. And in the forwards Campbell and Windsor. Operation Rectify Team is looking to be a multi week job!!
Personally I can't see the point of moving Clark on now (leave him at M11 and who knows maybe his scores improve) , same with Draper leave him at D7 and maybe when a downgrade comes along , try and get $ 100k from him then.

Maybe you just do McKercher - > Graham and sit.

Can you get Sanders to N Martin in one go ?

A few < $ 525k players in D averaging 100+

Campbell & Windsor both on the Bye so don't lose value could then go to 2 of Drury/Nyoun/Garcia if viable next round.

Depending on your cash situation Adams and May could be options.

Plenty of fallen premiums available by the looks of things end of Round 7 & 8 if you start building a war chest.

Stewart , Young

Daicos goes back via either D'Ambrosio or Clohesy

Williams solid

So let the 3 rookies moo

Howes D6 has a little more money to make them possibly look at Sicily's price projections

Merrett , Bont , LDU , Dawson , JHF + Daicos/D'Ambrosio , Roberts scoring well enough

M8-10 is either Carroll , Graham , Sanders

So find a target for Sanders - will cash allow Gulden , Green , Petracca etc if not N Martin possibly this round

English + Meek

Heeney , Jackson , Powell , Reid , Darcy is solid enough for the moment

Work on F6

Just need to work through the next 2-3 rounds and your team could (should) be looking a lot more solid , opportunities are going to present in the next 2-3 rounds

How much cash are you currently sitting on ?

Change of plans

McKercher - > Graham
King - > Young (started , traded out) via Reid & Daicos

Just need to be patient with D'Ambrosio , Reid , Roberts , Sharp , Williams onfield and Brown , Cadman , Campbell & Sanders on the bench and squeeze every $ out of them.

Dawson , LDU , Macrae , May , Oliver , Parish are always available as "break glass in case of Emergency" 😉

See how Tay Tay goes in his second game , don't mind D Rioli as a POD option in defence (but most likely wait for Sicily)

Hopefully Drury , Garcia & Nyuon perform well enough to give us something to downgrade to next round.
Need this round to end

Back to :-

McKercher - > Graham
King - > Comden

Build the war chest , be patient for 2-3 rounds , then try and take advantage of the fallen premiums (if the cash and timing is right)

Can't decide whether to do:

McKercher -> Walsh/Yeo/N.Martin/Powell
or
Sexton -> Powell

Thinking if I do McKercher -> Powell then next week I can do:
McKercher -> Nyuon
Sanders/Sharp/Carroll -> Walsh or Cadman -> Bolton

Any suggestions?

Out: McKercher Cadman
In: Martin, Graham

96k ITB and 1 boost left.

I was close to bringing in Heeney and getting it over and done with but probably no point now that the damage has been done.

Possibly a touch early on Cadman but someone has to go. Bramble survives another week with a favourable matchup and Holmes wasn't far from being rage traded out after a disappointing 87 from a 25 disposal, 2 goal game in a big win against north.

Think Martin will be a fun pick with our upcoming draw.

EDIT: Sanders out instead of Cadman

I agree. Last week was the time to jump off; now you ride the highs and lows.

For the later Williams/Fyfe trade which mid-priced premo’s would be in your target list?
I think Merrett would be the other trade in ( would hope he had dropped by then)..Noah Anderson is my other Smokey $588k but when he goes big he is capable of large scores….also has two this year in the 80-98 range as well…

Really unsure what to do this week.

Do I hitch myself to the Marshall train and go without Max? Can get these done with $2K spare…

Annoyingly can’t have Windsor as the out over Cadman who still possibly has some money to make with these trades.

Or do I look closer at Walsh straight in off the back of last week? And be able to hold Cadman over Windsor.

Alternatively, could just do McKercher to Graham, build the bank to $278K. Assess Garcia tonight as to whether he will be an option for next week, and maybe then pul, the trigger on a second trade this week going early on Biggy or Drury, to free up an extra trade next week for an upgrade and rookies?

Team as it stands after one trade, McKercher to Graham, $278K.

Money in the Bank ✓

Onfield rookies still look like they have money to make ✓

Premiums falling in a few rounds ✓

Build the war chest , don't spend it all on 1 or 2 upgrades

Just about planning a few weeks ahead and hoping everything falls into place.

Should be getting more competitive in a few rounds

Sanders now goneski

Sanders and McKercher for Daicos and Graham.

Will ponder over the next couple of days if I want to boost Cadman to Comben but if Biggie plays well for 100k cheaper he may be the go. Less JS but either won’t be on field anyway
