Really torn whether to upgrade in defence or midfield this week. With Stewart and Ryan best to wait a week or two on, same with Trac in the mids, thinking to get Rowell before hopefully a big game against WCE at home.

OUT: Williams, Sharp, H Thomas
IN: Bigoa, McAuliffe, Rowell

Swings Roberts into defence and leaves a midfield of:
Bont, Rowell, Steele, Serong, Rozee, Green, Walsh

Mass to become Stewart or Ryan in 2 weeks

Too many options this week with lots of fat cows!

I assume Libba is back this week. i think Macrae is an outrageously risky pick. Paying $480k for a guy who is a real chance of being starting sub or getting subbed out as shown by Bevo, or he could even get dropped. In a perfect world if he plays as a midfielder and avoids the vest every week then he would be great value, but i can't take the risk.
He was the starting Sub in Rd4 because he looked short of a gallop in his first game after the hammy injury. Made sense to either start him as the sub or sub him out in that game for said reason. I don't believe he's a Sub candidate now that he's fully fit again. No reason he won't average 95+ for here on as his team's #4 Mid.

Tossing up 2 options

The standard Mass & ZWilliams for Garcia & Walsh or ZWilliams & Meek for Gawn & ZReid or Phillips with the hope they get games later.

Swapping Gawn for Grundy after rnd 0 is a big regret and while now i'm paying close to top dollar i think i just have to get him in. He's too good a VC option not to have. If i go ZReid it only leaves 1900 in the bank but hopefully he's playing by the time the byes come around and can use to loop in the mean time. Just need 2 rookies to appear for next week to do a double downgrade to get some $$$ for the fallen prems the week after.

leaves me with
D: Sheezel, Houston, NDaicos, NMartin, McGovern, Clohesy (Howes E, ZReid)
M: Bont, Rowell, Steele, Flanders, Yeo, JHF, Roberts, D'Ambrosio (Graham E, Wilson, Clark)
R: Gawn, Xerri (Livingston)
F: Zorko, Jackson, McKay, Powell, HReid, Darcy (Windsor E, Sexton)

Wait and see how Drury & Nyuon score.

Williams either up or down , have Graham in my mids so opens up a M (or even a F or R) , plenty of options to explore.

Might even look at cashing in Heeney and seeing what opportunities that brings.

See how Petracca (and Oliver) score Wednesday night and see what their new BE and price will be as well to factor in Round 7 , 8 and 9 trade targets.

Lots to go through and play around with different combinations
I could understand that as a tactical move if Heeney was a Mid Only since he's never averaged so much or been worth so much $ but it makes very little sense entertaining the thought of trading out the clear #1 FWD that is playing Midfield and is scoring better than anyone else.

What I found interesting is what Bevo said in his post match presser "I think we might have found a role for him" He doesn't rely on CBA's for his scoring, more as a follower and link up player in transitions. Ed Richards took all of Libbas CBA's in the last match with Macrae's being fairly consistent.

I wrote about Andrew last week being an option. No one wanted to talk about it much. I've seen 3 games of his 1 live 2 ground. Passed the eye test as being solid, but not uber premium. Good creativity and importantly skill execution. He doesn't have that Sheezel / Dacois all my team mates want to give it to me feel.

Walsh has at least done a mini preseason by the looks. I think there is a risk that Pitto goes out of the side and Carltons clearances go down, forward 50 pressure goes up, capping some of Walsh's scoring. Along with the injury risk, it's now or never on both.

Considered waiting on Petracca?
I like Mac Andrew but reckon it's one season early to jump on him as a keeper. Watch this space.

That was days ago when I wrote that.

I guess if D'Ambrosio/Sharp/Williams had risen enough , you would then try and get 2 x 110+ fallen mids for the price of them + Heeney.

Seen people trade out Gawn , even Roberts early so maybe not as crazy as it sounded.

Probably needed to trade him out on their first Bye and with the Round 12 Bye and see if you could gain a cash/points advantage that way.

I think Footywire had him closer to $ 700k but that 98 has slowed things down.

Exact same here. Have been contemplating how/when/if I can get Gawn. I started Grundy and Xerri in ruck. I also already have Rowell and Zorko. Our teams are similar, coulpe different here and there and you probably have an extra mid/prem. Walsh the decision this week I suppose. Annoyed at not having Gawn, but may have to upgrade elsewhere and see what happens, he is expensive.

No need to move on him this week, but worth a watch now I reckon. If he tonnes up again everyone brings him in next week and you have no advantage. If he fails when Libba comes back and you've gone early not so great.

It's probably insane but I've got a gut instinct that sanders has a lot more to give. Also I can afford to not use him in my upgrade cadence the next month (massimo, lazz, Wilson, Darcy, howes all likely to reach harvest in that time, not counting reid or roberts) to let the low score get out of his system.

Or should I just bite the bullet, accept that bevo has killed him and keep one of my current 3 outs of sharp/dempsey/williams instead.
I'm holding. I reckon Sanders can get close to 400k by the byes.

He is expensive but i'm not actually sure he will come down without an injury and i'm the only 1 in the top 20 without him. If he wasn't such a good VC/C option i'd probably go the Walsh option but not convinced of Walsh's ability to average 130+ from here whereas i could easily see Gawn average 140 with lots of spike games for captain. i already have a few PODs within the top 20, not owning Gawn isn't one i can sleep easy with.

Happy with Round 7 trade preparations

Sharp - > Walsh gives me $ 280,200.00 to play with moving forward

Next 3 trades pencilled in (need a $ 218,400.00 swing on current prices in my favour) will be :-

D'Ambrosio/Meek - > Sicily
Meek/D'Ambrosio - > Stewart
Roberts - > Green (tbc)

Obviously will take a rookie downgrade if it presents to be able to target better performing premiums.

Will leave Clohesy , Comben , Graham & H Reid (possible F6 keeper) to be upgraded

A lot can change though
