Yeah it’s a fair point about forcing things. I’m pretty confident Powell isn’t a keeper and so I’m treating him as a stepping stone type that’s maxed out, so now is the right time to trade.
Roberts I’d be keen to hold as he’s been a reliable in field scorer and so isn’t the first priority to move on. But there is a huge value difference between him and Darcy so he does unlock some possibilities..
My other option had Moore vs Dale as my second upgrade which means I can still get a genuine downgrade rather than DPP donut. But sitting around 550th I’m keen to stay aggressive to stay up near the top!
Do you have Graham or Clohesy on your bench? Or capacity to loop them? Roberts is a cash cow you don't want holding him to start to compromise your upgrades. If you want to hold him and work on your other rookies who are $100K less does it delay upgrades? If yes so be it get who you want when you want in a few rounds.
My view on Powell is that in a forward line skinny with obvious choices we should back him in for now in case he can turn it around in the short term making him our last trade out rather than using him as a $400K rookie because we need that extra cash right now. I know right now that seems a challenge for him to achieve!
I think if an aggressive play is on your mind then be aggressive.

This extremely unexpected news re: Rozee has thrown a spanner in the works.

I was all set on bringing in Green for Rozee but obviously now Rozee is a hold. I still want Green at such a good price though and it's easy enough to do. I just pass on Dale and bring in one of Rogers/R Garcia for Khamis to get the funds to go from Massimo to Green.

OUT: Marshall, Massimo, Khamis
IN: Gawn, Green, Rogers/R Garcia

Now to decide which to pick out of Rogers or Garcia. I'm not crazy about either tbh.

I would personally go for rogers. If garcia was in any other team i would pick him.

For real?
I rather he take a break then to play and have another hammy issue
Most important game of the season given the Crows have won three of the past four showdowns, a Crows home game, Rory Sloane’s farewell and thus they will be keen to work harder for longer, so all hands on deck. Need the unquantifiable and moronic “momentum” ride from a close hard fought win against the arch nemesis as fuel for the battle next round against Geelong.:ROFLMAO:

I think I will go down the 'get Gawn at any cost' route too.

$243,900 ITB, (before any trades)

Current Team:

Sheezel, Houston, Martin, Young, Roberts, Howes (Coffield, Reid)
Bontempelli, Serong, Steele, MCrouch, Miller, NDaicos, Sharp, Clohesy (Wilson, HGarcia, Graham)
Marshall, Sweet (Livingstone)
Jackson, Heeney, Flanders, Powell, Macrae, HReid (Darcy, Dempsey)

Marshall, Dempsey, Sharp to Gawn, CSimpson, Green

Will leave $5,000 ITB, 21 trades, (no boosts) and:

Sheezel, Houston, Martin, Young, Roberts, Howes (Coffield, Reid)
Bontempelli, Serong, Steele, MCrouch, Miller, NDaicos, Green, Clohesy (CSimpson, HGarcia, Graham)
Gawn, Sweet (Livingstone)
Jackson, Heeney, Flanders, Powell, Macrae, HReid (Darcy, Wilson)

Can't take RGarcia or Roberts as it will not leave enough cash to get Gawn and Green. I guess if McAuliffe is named he is an option too, but Simpsons M/F may be hand, and I think he looked pretty good on the weekend.

Gawn's Rd 14 bye is better than English's Rd 15 bye, like Ben said, I hate barracking against Gawn too, so if you can't beat them join them.

Ideally I would not trade Marshall, but he is clearly playing injured, if he can turn it around, might get him back in, but based on his B/E this will be the last time he as any value to trade out.

We’ve Gawn Green.

It just feels right this round.

Surely you have bigger issues than Comben and Roberts?

Comben has every chance to go large against the Saints this week and Roberts could easily be your last upgrade. Must be tracking well if so.
If he has other starters who are a good chance to go at 80 why does he have to upgrade Roberts last? If he thinks Green is underpriced then may as well spend the $200K now than in 3 weeks when it's $440K --> $640K (if it is)?

Yep, can't keep them forever, they all have the potential for a bit of cash gen or a spike score, Roberts will be gone in 2 weeks for me.

Libba is back and Rozee is apparently playing.
Need to get Sweet in and Comben has done his job
I like Roberts, but he is my only path to a strong upgrade this week.
I've been aggressive with trading out rookies a bit early this season and this has helped me go from around 75k in Rnd 2 to 3.6k now, so I'm just going to roll with it and see where it takes me ... might even become the first member of the No Trades Left club so that is also something to look forward to :p

Having difficulty with my trades this week which is due wholly and solely on having used my boosts, not that I'm bothered because they've been used constructively (in the main).

It basically comes down to 2 things, do I downgrade Williams to Rogers or upgrade Cadman to Fyfe/McKay? I'm ok downgrading Williams as it brings Graham on to the field however not upgrading Cadman means I'll have Wilson on field and that could be a loss of 40pts/week or no loss (probably somewhere in between)

If I downgrade Williams then I'll be carrying $450k ITB which I feel is too much, compounded by the fact I have a double downgrade planned for next week, increasing the bank balance to around $800k which is way too much considering everyone else is upgrading.

That cash will be handy though allowing 4 top end upgrades in rounds 10/11/12 and enough left over to help upgrade Sweet for round 13.

I guess it all sounds good in theory but it's reliant on no LTI's or other issues for 4 or 5 weeks.
I wouldn't be too concerned about having too much money in the bank because it will get used, I had a bunch of dough left over last week and I got Dawson, Walsh and Garcia in for Ambrosia, Williams and Dempsey.
Regarding Rogers, is anyone concerned with his score in his first game? 28 from 76% game time. Maybe last week was an anomaly/ Adrenaline game? What if he scores 28 this week. Could be wrong as frequently am but I'm gonna pass.

Change of plans for me, was looking at downgrading Williams to Rogers but +$400k ITB is too much to hold, especially as I'm looking at a double downgrade next week. Going to pass on Rogers even though I think he'll be a good rookie and make a bit of cash. I've worked hard at getting up the rankings a bit and don't want to fall behind by not upgrading so it's now Williams to Laird.

Powell > Moore
Williams > Laird

The other choice is Dawson who probably has a higher ceiling but after Nicks comments I'm inclined to go with Laird. Playing North last week has skewed their scores but I'm banking on Laird matching Walsh's output who everyone got last week.

Didn't see your post before I did mine but I have to agree, the deciding factor is a double downgrade next week.

Would love everyone's opinion if Fyfe is a Top 6 fwd keeper ?
I don't have him atm and feel it's now or never.
The way he played last weekend would be a definite. Better investment than Macrae I'm thinking?
Cheers for your advice
I think he could well be and was very seriously looking at him to get a forward rookie off the ground. I'm running with Yeo and Whitfield, adding Fyfe to that mix is fraught with disaster. FWIW I've gone with Moore instead.
