CHRISTIAN Salem has been forced to the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

Salem was unable to finish Sunday’s match against Fremantle following some tightness, with the club’s High Performance Manager Selwyn Griffith providing an update on the defender.

“Christian came to the bench after feeling his hamstring cramp in the third period after accelerating,” Griffith said.

“He wasn't able to return to the field due to a loss of strength.

“Scans have shown that he does have a low-grade hamstring strain, so he'll miss this week and we’ll continue to progress him through hamstring reconditioning protocols.”

Expected Return : 3 - 4 weeks

Crouch a test

Could have an impact on Taylor, Dowling, Dawson and Laird
Surely he's not a chance this week!
Adelaide could have a host of players available for this weekend’s game against Hawthorn.

Midfielder Matt Crouch is aiming to return to football in the near future after responding favourably to rehabilitation from mid-season shoulder surgery.

Crouch will have a surgical review this week and if cleared, can resume contact training and push for selection.

“In some good news, Matt is preparing to return to play sooner than expected which is a credit to him and the rehabilitation team to have him in this position,” High Performance Manager Darren Burgess said.

“The shoulder surgery was a success and he has progressed faster than initially anticipated.

“Matt has continued running while in rehab and if he is given surgical clearance, can resume contact training and work towards being available in coming weeks which is a welcome boost for the team.”

Does anyone have any insight into Dawson concussion being 1-2 weeks?
Is Adelaide just over cautious on the time line?
Or has he had prior issues that have taken longer than the mandatory 12 days?
Noting that it would be 13 days from concussion to next available game Cats v Crows Sat 3rd Aug.
Thanks

Does sound like he could impact them after being ruled out earlier in the year.
