Hi Rowsus, if you had to pick five post bye premiums, who would you target? Thanks
Tricky question to answer, as I need/want Ablett, Pendlebury, Selwood and Dangerfield, so that only leaves one that might be of use to you.
I'd like Bartel in Defense, and NRoo when he's nice and cheap in 2 or 3 weeks up Forward, and my darkhorse for a well performing Mid after the byes is Cunnington.

Hi Rowsus, I'm contemplating captain options for this week and using RAMP I notice that Cox has a projected score up in the 130 range. I know you picked Jacobs as C last week on the basis of RAMP and was wondering whether you think Cox's projection for this week is remotely realistic, especially as he hasn't really been setting the world on fire recently? Thanks
It's both a risk, and an option. He can beat up on poor Rucks, so it wouldn't surprise anyone if he went big. There's no doubt he would be better used as a VC this week, but that doesn't leave you many outs for your C.

I'm actually not sure where to ask this, but Rowsus and others what are your thoughts of L.Shuey as a keeper? I have him and had him from that start, trying to work out my trades for the rest of the season and i'm undecided on his status.
He's a no from me. His good scores have been against week teams, and WC get a bit of a horror run between rounds 15 and 21, before finishing Melbourne, GC in rounds 22-23. It would surprise me if he goes much over 100 in that stretch of games.

Tossing up between Adcock and Malceski for D5. Adcock is pretty consistant from what i can tell and 40k cheaper, but The Swans seem to be hitting their straps and Malceski can go quite large sometimes. What are youre thoughts between the 2 oh wise one?
I must admit, I really hate getting players like Malceski on the back of a hot streak: 98, 111, 102, 104, 112 - ave 105 for the 5 games. It's his highest 5 consecutive weeks (not broken by byes etc) score since 2010, and right up there with his highest ever. It just seems crazy to tail it in. You are a punter, so let me put in these terms. If you are at races, and you keep backing horses that have firmed from $6 to $3, and you are getting on at the $3, you know you will win now and then, but if they are the only bets you place, you'll have a losing year, every single year. Well, it's nearly the same here. You know what Malceski is capable of, both good and bad. It seems like you are taking the $3, which means you might get a win, but if you keep backing horses/players in that situation long term, you'll end up on the wrong side of the balance sheet. Unfortunately, the same nearly applies to Adcock now, coming off a 4 game streak averaging 102. If I had to pick one, it would be Adcock, but only because of price, and not with any confidence.

Gday Rowsus, I'm deciding to get in either Hallahan OR JLloyd, obviously both played 3 games.
If one is the sub I'd get the other. OR should I let both pass?
I don't want to get Hartung or Acres early but what do you reckon mate?

G'day Braider. I've taken Lloyd J. He has a higher score in his cycle, and both have suspect JS, so why not go the low B/E with a decent score at the front end?

I promise this is the last time i will ask this..do you think i should keep or trade Cunnington?

You know i am big fan of his and i know his draw opens up after the bye, but the fact is the numbers he is putting up now as far as CPs, tackles and clearances go are still impressive. Its just his TOG doesnt go above 80%. Averaging only 74% this year and with Wells and Swallow to come back i cant see that improving.
With the cash i have i can swap him to a Selwood, Watson, Beams etc for not much more than what he costs with a lot less risk.
If my trades go according to plan by the start of round 11 i will have gone through a heap of trades but will have 20 of 22 keepers so all other areas will have been upgraded.

As usual your thoughts are appreciated!

Rowsus I am interested in your view on Jack Ziebell?

Priced low after a poor start and some injury issues but has been back for two weeks with an 82 and 107.

I think he can average 100 at an absolute minimum for the rest of the season. What is he priced at?

I don't like paying $550k for McVeigh. He needs to return 110/game to justify his price from there.
I'm hopeful Libba can start to turn things around, and this week could be big if it's anything like last season versus Melbourne.
I like the NRoo target, as he should be very cheap in 2 weeks. The rest seem good, with one rider. Be careful of Hanley if you want League glory. According to RAMP he bombs badly in the last 2 weeks, and could cost you a Prelim or GF.
Cheers for your thoughts mate, much appreciated.
With McVeigh though, is it worth waiting and trying to pick him up a little bit cheaper and get in another option that may not score as good as him, or am I better off just paying the $550K and pretty much get what I paid for? A top 2 or 3 DEF.
My thinking was the second option, in getting him in now.

Who do you suggest for a round 10 bye Defender if not those 2. To be honest I'm not happy with either but they seem the best of the crop ATM. Hibberd seems overpriced at 531k and I am money conscious as I'm doing 2 upgrades a week over the next 4 weeks.

Cunnington's best period always looked like it would be after the byes. Having said that, the combination of players coming back, and his price being within easy swap of players with more established history makes it tempting to swap him. I can't see you losing too much by carrying him, and the satisfaction derived if he produces how we think he can would be pretty good. I'd keep him.
Good luck :)

Mudflap
He's priced well for someone who could/should score at around 105 from here, if he stays on the park. The question is, are you happy for your M8 score at that level? I'd settle for a cheap M8 that scores that, but I'd be disappointed with anything less. The risk of more missed games, and his average not quite reaching 105 sways me to say no, but if your faith is stronger, then I say go for it!
Good luck :)

I'd be more comfortable paying that if he was completing your Def line, but as you still have 2 other Def spots to fill, it feels like you are paying too much for the points you'll get.

Hi Rowsus

What do you think of these changes?

McDonald -> Hodge in my defence

leaving me with $40k

and then next week:
Mitchell for Bartel?
Crouch for Acres?

Also want to get Selwood once he's ripe.

Def:
Simpson, Hodge, Enright, Hanley, Langdon, Langford (Mitchell, Georgiou)

Mid:
Ablett, Pendles, Watson, Cotchin, Beams, Polec, Aish, Robertson (M.Crouch, J.Hunt)

The question I'd ask is, which Defs are you targetting? You only have 3 Keepers, and unless you have good plans for all that cash you are raising, maybe find an upgrade this week.

Yeah, I admit, round 10 Defs are a problem, as all the decent one seem to be priced at, or over, their potential to score. If Malceski sits the most comfortable with you, then he might be the way to go.
Good luck :)

ps - 8 upgrades in 4 weeks! Must be some cash, or fat Cows , you are sitting on! I'm jealous!

Why downgrade Crouch next week? If you want Acres I would downgrade Aish as Crouch would already have had his bye. Aish should be around 380k next week, gives you extra 100 k profit and better bye structure. (sorry not Rowsus)

Thanks Rowsus..... much appreciated.

By next week my M8 will be Polec. I guess my decision will be is Polec to Ziebell worth a trade? Pretty sure I will run that through my mind 1000 times in the next week
