It's hard to picture, that they've played each other 1,000 times in the past 58 years. An average of 17 times each year! o_O
With 30 current teams and inter league play the norm, division rivals play each other 13 times. Going back to 1966 there were 20 teams, 10 in each division, and they would have played each team in the league 18 times.

There's going to be a few different AFL logos next year. Crows have already released theirs, Hawks and Dogs have released 100 year anniversary logos too. Suns are going to release their new logo later this week, and a leak of it yesterday did not go down well (seriously, a 2 year old could put together a much better logo for them than either their current or the upcoming logo - the darker red is good I guess). Think the Saints are meant to be changing theirs too.

I find it a bit strange that a lot of clubs are always going on about tradition being important, yet they are more than happy to change their logo every few years. Apparently the Saints are the club who have had the same logo for the longest of any club, yet I can still remember them having a stick man logo, and I'm not all that old. Pity certain clubs aren't as willing to change their guernsey to avoid clashes due to "tradition".

...Possibly belongs in the rant thread, but if I started typing in that thread, any post would end up novel length. I guess November is the month of NaNoWriMo though (National Novel Writing Month - a challenge to write a 50K word novel within a month), so it'd be appropriate.

Gullible saps (supporter base) will believe anything they say, even if there is a clear incongruence between words and actions and who wants to support change rather than a “rich” tradition. The more changes, the better as a money spinner as you gotta catch them all, along with the rebranding expenses.

Thanks @Connoisseur @Ironhawk and to the guys that have joined so far.
I hadn’t entered the darts thread before the World Champs, but have been a watcher of that event over the years. Just hoping to provide an entry into what is a great sport, the players look like they live a life of beer and pies (other than Price), and they probably do, but they are that talented and it’s a great sport to watch.
Love to see a few more entries because I genuinely think this will be an underrated comp over the course of the year.
About a week away now from the most wonderful time of the year and the end of another season. Thanks once again to @The Banker for his superb effort in administering the competition and hopefully introducing more SCS members to the sport over the past few years whilst gaining an appreciation for the skill involved as well as more bang for our buck for our Kayo subscriptions.

The perfect lead in to the event is 70 year old Paul Lim into the WDF World Championship Final tomorrow morning, forty two years after debuting at the event and thirty four years after his only Quarter Final appearance with the potential for 17 year old Luke Littler to cap off a great season and go one better this time in the PDC World Championship, highlighting that age is just a construct.

There was a story on the news tonight (Ch. 7) with his parents who pointed out that his name is actually Guot Guot, the Gout spelling came from a mistranslation.

It will be interesting to see if he changes back or uses the incorrect version throughout his career.
