Coach Peter Moores says Glenn Maxwell will almost definitely miss the Stars opening game against the Scorchers in Perth on Sunday as he recovers from a left hamstring strain suffered while fielding in the third T20 against Pakistan last month.

Scott Boland and Beau Webster are also unlikely to be released from the Australian Test squad for that match, while No.1 draft pick Ben Duckett will also miss the first two games due to England's third Test against New Zealand in Hamilton. Two-time Stars player of the season, Joe Clarke, has been secured as a replacement for those two matches against the Scorchers and Brisbane Heat.

Pakistan spinner Usama Mir is unavailable until after Christmas with Kiwi speedster Adam Milne signed as a replacement for the first three games of the season.

But English allrounder Tom Curran will be available for the entire season after being poached from Sydney Sixers on a two-year deal.

M Short & Turner (cost $ 374,600.00)

say Hardie (if bowling) & Behrendorff (cost $ 338,600.00)

Savings could be used on starting team on a Steketee price type

Would need to factor in a different VC/C if not the Short option.

Short would be traded out Round 3 (back in for Round 4)

Scorchers would be traded out Round 3 , possibly allows Inglis to be kept which would mean don't need a Duckett/Peirson/Philippe for Round 3

100%. Curran, Stoinis, Zampa pick themslves. Most will have a Richardson/ Fergus/ Rogers and maybe Sutherland if he looks like bowling. Outside of that it gets pretty speculative imo. A stars cheapie like Steketee/Paris good option for the double and then the bench thereafter

Geez if Abbott , Clarke , Curran , Richardson etc got priced correctly it would make a starting team easier , especially with the Salary Cap remaining the same and having to pick a extra player

I checked under League/league tools but didn’t see anything.
From memory that league tool drop-down is how u add them, right?
Couldn’t find anything on the Help page
