Hmmm, I've been so burnt with Stars players in the past that it's clouding my thoughts big time.............apart from 'Maxi'............and he's now hit and miss mostly.................the rest just don't get me.

As for the 'Ren's' too...............their starting prices speak for themselves too................when you just look at projections for Rd 1 for them, they're mostly dismal imh.

Maybe 'Seifert/Khan' are worth including........L Evans too but bat only....

...Brown and JFM are more miss than hit and bat only too of late............too risky for mine.............Tommy Rogers also cheap for a reason............been average...............Will Sutherland, (hope he watched his sis last night).........has issues............too risky................I'm finding it very hard to get enthusiastic about the DGR teams in Rd 1.

And then you look at the Strikers and Scorchers.................hmmm..............some nice projections there...............that 'Diabolical' average looks achievable with them as a comp starter ..............if you can fathom the RD 1 double misses.

Anyway, enough raving from me.................cheers mate

Sometimes it can be easier to select your preferred Round 2 side then work backwards.

I am of the opinion (could be wrong) that we need to start at least 3 Renegade players so we can then use them as our 3 trade outs for Round 2.

I'm just getting back into the BBL SuperCoach after finishing 71st last year - following a 5k the year before. I will be honest and say that I haven't looked into the different availability at all, and who has been playing well off-season so fully rawdogging this season, as I did last year swell.

How does my team look?

J Clarke (Doran)

Overton Curran Edwards Sutherland Stoinis (Renshaw, Konstas)

Short Morris Khan Zampa McKenzie (Thornton Salzmann)

Jhy Richardson

Little Note; if Sutherland doesn't bowl I will chuck JFM for him. Then looking to round 2, looking to put in Hardie if fit. Which brings me to 3 Strikers, 3 Scorchers so won't bring in anymore DPP, maybe a tye/inglis. Then will replace Khan for Hayden Kerr depending on his role or Spence Johnson. And will keep Zampa as a money maker

"Sometimes it can be easier to select your preferred Round 2 side then work backwards."

I always do this Herbie....................makes it a lot easier I agree. I've been looking at every which way, as most of us have............... been burnt by overseas newbies too many times too last few seasons............... I'm now only keen on players I know with 'here' history.........recent decent 'here' history too.................I've tried (as you know) to max. DGR players every round for years now.............it's gotten me close-ish a few times.........but it's not enough..............so I'm trying the 'proven quality player' angle this year...............going to be a different comp for me this time around...................who knows lol

cheers AG

Have you seen anything from Kade Harvey suggesting Inglis might open (if available) ?

Although with Hardie now out they might need to leave him @ 4.

Is :-

Allen
Fanning or Hurst
Jennings
Inglis
Hobson (Turner)
Connolly
Spoors (Agar)

+ the 4 Quicks

Read awhile ago they were looking at Bryce Jackson as the LRP for Marsh , maybe with the injuries they go someone like Whiteman instead
Haven't seen anything on whether Inglis would open, to me Allen and Jennings were drafted for that reason. I'm really not sure how we line up now with no Hardie, obviously Fanning comes in now (barring Turner and Agar) but where he bats is anyone's guess. His best position is probably opening or at 3 but we'll see on Sunday.

Big Bash League: David Warner set to remove Cameron Bancroft as Sydney Thunder opener

David Warner is leaning towards preferring Sam Konstas over Cameron Bancroft as his opening partner as the Test legend prepares for his first full BBL season with the Sydney Thunder.

Only weeks after both pushed ultimately unsuccessful cases for the Test opening vacancy, Bancroft and Konstas are set for more internal competition at the Thunder.

Nic Maddinson’s finger surgery has left the pair as the two clearest options to partner new captain Warner at the top to start the BBL, which the pair enters with varying recent records.

Konstas, yet to make his BBL debut, memorably announced himself with twin centuries in NSW’s first Shield game of the summer before making another for the Prime Ministers’ XI in a 50-over match last month.

Bancroft has failed to pass 20 in 15 of 19 digs across red and white-ball cricket this summer, but did make an unbeaten 105 in Western Australia’s penultimate Sheffield Shield game before the break.

Warner said a firm decision had not yet been made on the opening partnership.

“We’ll speak about it this week, we’ll see in the warm-up game. I’m probably erring between myself and probably Sammy Konstas at the top,” he said.

Konstas is priced at 39K - very tempting if opening the batting

Sitting on this currently :-

Not wanting to overload too much on Stars & Gades players despite them on the double round 1, just picked the ones I like at their prices. Focusing more on high quality overall with an eye on round 2. Short/Overton/Dorff/Richo/Inglis all on the double round 2 & want all of them with their high quality.

Can loop Harper being the first game, Philippe can swing into the keeper spot if required. Salzmann handy being DP & allows McKenzie & Richo to be looped round 1.

I'd be concerned about Harper as he might be dropped if Maxy is back for the second game. Would suggest including Inglis on the bat bench to be looped if need be. Would be concerned about Sutherland not bowling or not much. I was considering JFM however his recent form isn't great, Brown could be a better option. Kane Richardson got 0/47 in four overs in a Premier Cricket club game recently and hasn't played anything much since February, I'd prefer O'Neill or Rogers.

Otherwise some good selections there. In my opinion of course.
