This is good. Can I ask how you work out a breakeven?
Working out B/E's is easy, working out MN's is hard, well this season it's hard anyway.

B/E = (Price x 3 / MN) - most recent score - score before that.

The MN last week was 4991, and I am guessing will be around 4980 this week.

You probably know what my next question is. I won't ask you how to work out the MN but I'm only after a rough estimate for future planning so is there a number that would get me in the ball park each week?

Hey dyii,
the move to trade Ablett out is acceptable, but you need to be aggressive with the Money, or it is a wasted move. Don't worry about having all 3 of Pendles, Swan and Beams. All 3 will likely feature high up in the end of season point scoring tables. Yes, it makes the Captain choice a Little trickier, but that's ok. Acres is far from a must have. His 91 subbed score was very hollow (not supported by his stats), and he looks more like a 60-65 point player than a 90-95 point player. I like your Harry choice!
Good luck :)
Any you bringing in Acres or any rookies this week Rowsus? I passed on Ambrose...considering Acres for easy $$ generation, but agree, I see him as a 65 avg player. Also very bad/dangerous for RD10bye structure.

(Talking myself into passing over...; For Rd10 structure, keeping Billings instead - 75-80 avg?...)

Hi Rowsus,

Congratulations on your great score last week, no doubt that was the main reason you did not start GAJ and Pendles.

I have been gradually working my way towards the top 500 which is the goal.

Have 700k in cap and am wanting to bring in 4 premium mids in over the next 2 weeks which will leave Tyson in M8 for a while.

Will be more than likely trading Aish to Swan and Polec to ............

Was thinking Sloane due to his consistency (ave 113 ish, low score 102). Or Dal Santo.

Was also thinking Langford to Acres.

This will leave me 530k which should be enough to do Crouch and Dunstan to Selwood and Libber next week.

What are your thoughts on my plan and Sloane as an option?

Hey camo,
It depends on what your season goal is. High finish, and 15 maybe too many, unless you have traded exceptionally well. If you are concentrating on a League Victory, it's a good number to have. Having Acres/Hallahan at M8 is perfectly acceptable in the short term. We usually have to make sacrifices/compromises to build our team, and that looks like being yours.
Good luck :)
Thanks mate, one more thing if possible.

How would you rate a forward line of:

Danger, Dahlhaus, Roughie, Martin, Higgins, Fasolo

in terms of scoring potential per week for the rest of the season? I'll be left with 13 trades and a full prem team bar a M8, however I'm a bit worried about the potential for some of those forwards I listed as being mid price players, essentially. Higgins and Fasolo are two in particular that I feel I might need to go to better options after my planned upgrades in the next few weeks. Sitting at a reasonable 7000th overall now but Id like to work my way higher.

Thanks again mate.

EDIT: Also, whats youre opinion on Sloane as somewhat of a POD? Been very consistent thus far and looks like the best option to bring in as a mid this week from players who had the bye last week.

Hi Rowsus,

Need a little help. I've got myself into 189.

I am tempted to trade in selwood and stevia J and that gives me 8 premo mids. The alternative is to let them drop this week against Freo and maybe pick up some Fwds.

Do you think getting them a week early (most people bringing one in next week) is of any real benefit?

Cheers

Would you back Robertson to meet his BE of 48? ill be out on saturday so wont be able to see if he is named sub or not.
worth taking a risk and keeping Robertson for one more week to generate a possible 10k or so?

In the previous 2 or 3 seasons it has fallen around 12-14/round at this time of the year, then every 4th or 5th round it took a little bump upwards. A good approximate is to just take around 10-11 off each week from here......... or just ask me each Monday! :p

My round 10 structure is very fragile right now. It would mean taking Tippett, who I am not keen on, or Hartung a week early, and hope he gets picked next week. I am not keen on doing that either! I will probably skip getting a Rookie this week, and take the best bubble +1 game boy next week.

It looks like a Forward line that has done it's job, and carried you this far, but when you have completed your other lines you will definitely need to upgrade 2 or 3 of them, or lose some ground. But you have trades left, so there is no panic involved.
Sloane is solid enough, but while Swan, Watson, Selwood even Libba and Dal Santo are priced below him, I just couldn't pay $575k for him. I think he and Dal Santo are on about a par, but Dal is $20k cheaper. You never know what that $20k could turn into down the track.

Hi Deeman1,
thanks for that. I wish that was the lame reason I didn't start them both! :p
Well done on how you are going so far, and even more so for having a good bank right now!
Aish to Swan without doubt. I'm not sold on Sloane though, I think his Price is too high for what he'll return. I don't think there's much between him and Dal, and Dal is just that little bit cheaper. I'd pay the near $12k extra for Beams before I took Sloane.
Aside from that, I love how your team is coming together, and Selwood/Libba looks like a plan!
Good job and good luck! :)

Hi dq82,
great going on your season so far!
Histories against Freo (Paterson Stadium scores in red, wins in bold):
Selwood B/E 159 - 54, 116, 110, 63, 75, 116, 108, 81, 55
SJ B/E 136 - 58, 109, 68, 129, 72, 89, 123, 120
On those figures, it would appear they will both drop in price this week. While that is important (saving cash), it also important to get points as quickly as possible. So the way I see it is, if you can make upgrades elsewhere, and still have the cash to grab these 2 next week, that is a live option. If you can't manage that, grabbing one, and maybe an upgrade elsewhere, and still grabbing the other next week is another option. Or just grab them both this week. Of those 3 options, I like the 2nd one best. Grab one of them this week, which would be SJ (lower B/E, better record against Freo/PS), grab another upgrade somewhere else this week, then get Selwood next week.
Good luck, I hope you continue your climb up the ladder! :)

Hi d-buzzz,
Robertson has beaten this weeks B/E in all but one of his games. Even though there is a sub risk, i'd back him in to do it beat it again this week.

edit - he's dropped :(

Hi mate, what do I do with rioli? Current forwards are danger, martin, wingard, rioli, Higgins Lloyd,z marrett and Ambrose.

Do I go Parker this week knowing he will miss next or do I go boomer and pick up Parker down the track. Thoughts on boomer?

Thanks for the response Rowsus.

I did not start Beams as I was concerned about the number of games that he would play given his recent record, so seems somewhat hippercritical to bring him in now, but I will consider it. I guess the other reason to bring him in now is to negate the negative POD that not having him until now has been. You watch, I will bring him in now and he will get injured, lol.

Seems every man and his dog is bring in Swan now, but I'm hesitant about having 3 Collingwood Mids in my midfield. Then again, thats probably now different to the 40% of other teams that have all 3.

Might do the Polec - Beams trade and think about the other one for now.

The only reason that I was considering Sloane was his consistency, no he does not have the ceiling of the other 3, but in terms of consistency he is hard to ignore.

Thanks again for the response.
