That really depends on the individual teams need, but I'd prefer Bartel.
Thanks Rowsus. Sorry about the brief question as I was in a rush when I posted it and I realize you probably needed a bit more context to give a detailed response. In any case, you have confirmed my thinking that Bartell is probably a superior choice and works well for my team at the moment. I'll keep my eye on Harvey over the next few weeks and see if I can get him in when finalizing my forward line. Many thanks :)

Hey Rowsus, what are your thoughts on Goddard?

Priced at 93pts/465K, averaging 98.50pts, though taking out his 11 in round 4 he his averaging 118pts.

Tossing up between him and getting a forward such as Harvey.
Hey Klo30,
He's definitely well priced, and a live chance to fill M8, but if you take him expect something more like 105-108.

Rowsus,

Out of curiosity, what's with all the sudden interest in Harry Taylor? Only averaging 75 so far, and from what I can tell, not necessarily any reason why he's going to significantly improve.

Hey Row, wondering what to do for my last trade this week. I've already gone Robertson to Acres and Polec to Petrie.

I'm either going to go Laidler to Tippet or Laidler to H Taylor.

If I don't get Taylor this week I'll likely get him next week but will need to trade Langdon/Langford too early to do it. Wondering what your thoughts are?
Hey bloke,
the 3rd option is, don't use the 3rd trade!
I'm not a Tippett fan. Unreliable scorer, and unreliable injury-wise, and I think Taylor is very well priced, so Taylor, if you decide to trade.

I think I need to trade this week, because I plan to do 3 upgrades by next week (I suppose Petrie was sort of an upgrade too). Pendles and Selwood are 2, and then I need a back upgrade. If I don't grab Taylor this week, I will have to downgrade Laidler to Tippet/Aylett because I won't have the cash to do 3 upgrade next week (unless you think 600k is enough to get the 3)

Hi Rowsus, my first post in this thread.

Knowing that you will be creating Rnd 8 trade tables, would you perhaps comment on whether Swan at his price this week is better value for the rest of the season than Pendles at his price next week given his higher BE.

Love your work!
Hi lmcjb, thanks for the kind words.
Interesting question.
I expect Swan will score at around 115-116 from here, and is priced at 113
I expect Pendlebury will score at about 124-125 from here, and should be priced at about 126 next week.
There's not much in it value-wise, and both are worth having/getting.
If your team is near complete, and you have the mney, get Pendles. If you still need a few more to complete your team, get Swan.

TBO,
The interest is based on the fact that he is priced at 78, and in his recent history reads: 21/94, 21/87, 21/76, 20/87.
His history is also littered with high and low scoring streaks within a season, like 4/116 and 5/74.
We are hoping he is coming out of a low scoring period, and can return us something like 93-94 at D6. This will only drag his season up to 87-88, which his history shows is not an unreasonable expectation.
I've watched most of his games. The other thing I like is, he is totally out of form!
He is dropping marks he'd normally take easily, and generally not playing well. I like it, because he's too good a player for that to continue.

Hello again, thanks for yr response re Priddis. So far your wisdom has been great, my decision making not so great! I am currently 2069th. I have 20 trades left and no cash! The ultimate question - am I out of the running for overall based on history? Going well in cash league and may alter strategy if overall is a pipe dream! Thanks in advance, appreciate your opinion as I've never been this highly placed.

Getting Harry Taylor also gives me another Rnd 9 and Rnd 10 player and gives me a bit more cash to get Pendlebury next week.My budget will be really tight next week and I'll need all the help I can get.

Whats your thoughts on Boomer Rowsus? Id always planned to bring in Petrie this round but he really hasnt shown enough and i already have 2 unreliable KPFs in Buddy & Pav. Do you think he can top 100 with The Kangas relatively easy draw?

I know I'm not Rowscus but I hope this helps.
Last years winner was 7th at this stage and stayed within the top 3 for the remainder. I'm not sure on the other years buts I'd expect a lot would change during the three bye rounds. At 2000ish I'd expect you would need to catch 500+ points on the leader which I doubt is possible without some amazing scores from here out.

At this stage, yes. I am backing his scores to improve after the byes, as North's Draw gets easier.
If Roughie gets 2 weeks, which I think he will, I will be going Roughie to Petrie and pocketing $79k next week.
Would this still be worthwhile, even though Roughie only copped one week?

In normal circumstances, you wouldn't trade for a 1 week suspension, but the bye rounds complicates things.

If I keep Roughie, I'll have just the bare 18 playing rd 10 (one of them Impey), even after 3 trades.

If I trade, I not only avoid Impey on the ground in rd 10, but I get an extra player on-field this week.

Petrie and $70k is tempting. Dixon is another I've contemplated.

I've probably just talked myself out of it, but interested in your thoughts nonetheless.

Also interested on your NDS thoughts.

Currently own Pendles/Beams/GAJ, and need to do 2 mid premium upgrades that play both Rnd 8 and Rnd 9.

atm, Leaning towards Swan & Selwood double upgrade. Ideally would love Fyfe in my team, but doesn't fit my bye structure :(

Maybe there is someone else I have not considered, Cotchin/Deledio???

It's a bit hard to know. Price movements, who your third upgrade is, how much money you have in the bank. You have to map out the expected price changes of the players involved, and see if you have enough in the bank right now to cover it.

Thanks McClunge, I figured as much. Top 20 seems pretty set.
I agree with McC that you are probably a bit far back. If you had a bank of cash, and were doing 2 or 3 upgrades this week, that might not be the case. But because you have to generate cash to do your upgrades it puts you just that little further behind some of the teams in front of you.
I wouldn't say you've made too many bad decisions, seeing as you are sitting just outside the top 2,000. Well done!

I don't think the top 20 is anywhere near set! Someone will almost definitely appear on the scene from as far back as 500th-1000th from here.

Yeah I might have to sleep on it.

Just a quick question that might help my decision, if Selwood scores 100 this week what will his new BE be for next week?

Thoughts on dal santo?

Hi Guys,
North definitely look like they have the potential to offer some value in the coming weeks.
Cunnington can benefit from their easier draw, but his TOG hasn't lifted as I hoped it might. I can't see that changing much in the near future.
Dal has got a really SC friendly role going on a North right now, and I don't think Swallow will affect it. It doesn't lend itself to monster scores, but he should be able to go 110-115 if he keeps going with it. Could make a nice POD.
Swan is probably now priced at about what he'll score, as is Beams. There are probably better value selections available, but not too many that will outscore them. If I had to choose one of Beams or Swan, it would be Swan, just.
Brent Harvey what do you think of him? Had the bye so helps next two weeks and should ave about 95 for the year.
He's priced to 97, and I can see him potentially scoring that. I think Swallow coming back will only help him, as it draws a bit of attention from him, and North's draw is good. Could be a good POD.
The lazy "repost answers from earlier today" method. :)

If he scores 100, his Price will be around $530k with a B/E of 123
