Hi Rowsus!
Congratulations on your big Round 8 score - about time!

My question (a succinct version of what I posted on the trades thread) is this:

Should I trade in Bartel this week and Selwood next week (through Tyson, keeping Polec) and have 18 players for round 10?
OR trade in Goddard this week (through Polec) and Selwood + Hurn next week, and have 17 players for round 10?

I've calculated what I'll gain/lose overall, and it seems I'll lose out a 'rookie' score in Round 10 if I get Goddard now while he's $30k cheaper than next week.
Thanks!!

Cheers for answering my previous question Rowsus, really appreciate it. I'm still a bit undecided after trading out Ablett, as it's true that this means I have to maximize my points now, but if I hold on another week I could be in a better off position.

Option 1:
By getting in Swan and Harry Taylor this week, but going
McDonald>Acres leaves me 846k

which lets me go Tyson>Selwood (~95k)
L.Taylor>Pendles (~380k)
Cutler>Hurn (~412k), leaving me with ~180k left in the bank (JKH>Petrie maybe)

Option 2: Triple upgrade
Harry Taylor, Swan AND Pendles in this week, leaving me with 328k
Lets me go Cutler>Hurn, Tyson>Selwood with an appromixate 46k in the bank (and no Acres)

I'm sitting at 16k in the overall rankings and although it'd be nice to catch up I'm a long shot off all my mates, and don't really mind now. What would you do Rowsus? Love your work :)

Hi mate, what do I do with rioli? Current forwards are danger, martin, wingard, rioli, Higgins Lloyd,z marrett and Ambrose.

Do I go Parker this week knowing he will miss next or do I go boomer and pick up Parker down the track. Thoughts on boomer?
Hi lips,
there's probably not a lot between Harvey and Parker. Harvey is $30k cheaper, had his bye, and has an easy draw coming up, I'd go Harvey.

Hi PB,
if your figures stack up, and it comes down to losing a Rookie score, and saving $30k, then save the $30k, but only if it is a poor Rookie, and you are 100% sure there are no other surprises next week.

Acres is no must have. It comes down to your need to raise more cash. If you don't have the cattle do it, grab Acres, if you think you have the cattle, go option 2. If you're not sure, grab Acres.

Hi d-buzzz,
Robertson has beaten this weeks B/E in all but one of his games. Even though there is a sub risk, i'd back him in to do it beat it again this week.
edit - he's dropped, so he won't beat his B/E, but won't drop in price either.

Looking at getting Bartel in this week, have been planning to go from Suckling. KK out though makes me nervous that he might miss next week too. He's only about $40k off topping out as well. Is it obvious, get rid of Suckers? Or should I keep him as a serviceable D6 until I've upgraded elsewhere? Langdon and Suckling D6/7 looks decent for now. From the sounds of it Bluey wants to take a cautious approach this year but I'd imagine Kade will still play most games.

Hey Rowsus

Love your work here, thanks a lot.

Do you see Wingard improving? he hasn't had the same output as last year, do you think its because of Robbie Gray?

I don't know whether to trade - Scenario #1 - McDonald to Bartel and Cyril to Gray, or Scenario #2 Georgiou to Bartel and Cyril to Wingard/Bruest

I think the #1 I make more bang for the buck and would have Gray, but #2 gives me more relief in Rd 10, and more depth in the backline. What is your opinion?

I'd probably loophole Langdon and Suckers, especially if KK being out next week will cause problems.

Will GAJ regress to under 130 scoring?
For Ablett's season average to fall below 130 he has to score at 122.1 from here. I rate that about a 10-12% chance of happening. The chance of Ablett scoring below 130 from this point on, is of course much higher. I rate that about a 40-45% chance.

Hey white, thanks for the kind words.
I can see Wingard improving, but probably not quite to last season level. I think Gray will out score him, if he stays on the park. If option won't cause donut problems next week, and you have faith Gray stays on the park, I'd go #1.

So I have been annoyed all day about Crouch's subbed score of 10 or whatever it was, now I have 19 playing this week but Crouch's score will be counted as I have 7 FWD's so can't play them all unfortunately.

I'm thinking I might make a trade, Georgiou to Kurt Aylett (only if not the sub) this week as well as my Robertson to Acres.
I am hoping firstly he isn't the sub, if he is then I probably won't, and the fact he's JS is questionable but probably better than Georgiou who has lost his spot. This means I won't have Crouch's score counted this week, get on a DEF cash cow a week or two (taking into account his bye) early. This will lead to extra coin in the bank, and free up trades down the track (round 10,11,12...) to get in my designated premiums and now probably Cameron from the Crows as well.

Thoughts mate :)

I think you have to remove the byes and Crouch's 10 from the equation.
Ask yourself this: Would I still do this if Crouch scored 70? If yes, go ahead, if no, then leave it alone.
Good luck :)

Hey Row just thinking about next week's trades, would you consider bringing in Selwood BEFORE Pendlebury?

Next week I can only afford one, and I was going to bring in Pendles, but the 100k I save by bringing in Selwood would be nice. Do you know what Pendlebury's BE us next week? Is it high enough to think he'll fall in price?

Hey Rowsus,

I thought I would ask you about the timing of upgrading given your statistical nous.

My trades for next week were going to be as follows:

Dunstan to Hartung
Tyson to Selwood
JKH to Boomer

But there are 2 key problems with them:

1. Tyson is scoring better than Selwood! Is it worth keeping him until he drops off and trading my other rookies instead? (Problem is, my only other rookies peaked are Polec and Langdon, same scenario!)

2. Am I right in thinking it's not a good idea trading in Boomer after a 180? He's surely not the best value at 515k? Who is better value though? Petrie, Cloke, Wingard and Westhoff are rubbish! Maybe wait a week or 2 for Tex/NRoo/Roughy?
