Bethell had 108 (Ave 15.43) runs & 2 wickets coming into last night's match

Remarkably nearly doubled them both in a single game

My decision making/judgement is way off about players.

SC ave of 39.5

Well done to those that fielded him or had him as E

Hopefully Fraser-McGurk has a good chat to him about how he remains still and holds his shape when batting.

Interesting to see how he goes in the English summer and the Ashes (if they stick with him @ 3)

Off to the IPL with RCB.

See if he ever returns to the BBL or goes to ILT 20/SA 20 (withdrew this season) in the future

Surprised they didn't play him. I thought I saw him in the last squad.

He probably plays in the Harvey spot. Opened for Kent and first drop at Invincibles.
Been trying to work out the Renegades connection.

Rogers played for Kent , Zampa for the Invincibles.

Give him the opportunity to see if he can get a contract for next season.

Given the Hurricanes are clearly on top of the table, I think they can rest Jordan again, to make sure he is cherry ripe for the finals ;).

I may or may not have a vested interest in him not playing the 2nd game of their double
In your situation I would be asking @Damion23 or @Brendan12 to see if they can go to the airport and see if Jordan gets on the 🛫 😀

They might release their Squad early enough today to give you some indication

8/12 494 Meredith VC.

Nice for my DGR players to step up and perform with good scores from Chaudhary, Wade and an excellent performance from Owen. Unfortunately Jordan is injured and Wakim looked all at sea. Just my luck I traded Bethell out before he doubled his season points but alas. Smith, Overton and Phillip tonight on the road yet I’m still comfortable banking Meredith’s vc score.

Cheers, it was a bit tongue in check, it really doesn't matter, either Jordan plays and is a SGR or he does not play and is covered by Neser who is a SGR player 🙂

Maybe my reply was as well 😀 or maybe it wasn't 😀

Neser (E) sounds like a solid plan either way

I am sure Honeyball will have a answer soon

3/750 Owen

Owen VC 114x2
Meredith 88
Chaudhary 67
Wade 66
Ellis 57
Rogers 42
Sutherland 41
Doran 7

Bench: Bethell 170

Owen excellent, even got a bowl! Meredith thrived with Jordan out and got better overs. Chaudhary great. Wade great too, but getting out when he did allowed David to get his quick 20 and Bethell to get another wicket. Ellis good. Rogers and Sutherland okay. Doran poor.

Wasn’t able to properly check teams. Green ticks and red circles but not the actual batting order. Long story short, if I had time on my hands I likely would’ve VC’d Chaudhary instead. I ran with Wade + Doran (73) but I likely would’ve gone either David + Doran (57) or Wade + Bethell (236). I assumed they’d be running with Wade opening, Doran somewhere in the top order, and 6-5. Very frustrating but hard to know for sure which way I would’ve gone.

Still another game to go for the other options to try catch up to Bethell. Hoping Doran gets another crack. Hurricanes sitting pretty up the top, give Jordan his rest ;)
5/828. Bethell, Green & Owen were huge. Trades ended up being Harper, Macdonald and Jordan -> Owen, Meredith & Ellis. Chaudary VC. Have dropped Doran's score out assuming he doesnt play the 2nd game and Overton and S.Johnson are able to beat it. Only disappointing part of the night was Jordan missing. Having got him in last week over Ellis it forced me to play Zampa who i was never keen on fielding and also meant people could pivot to some other high scoring Hurricane players. Not having David or Wade stings after their last few overs. Doran on field over Seifert should cost only 3 points if Zampa is my 11th player, probably worth the risk.
4/569 Owen

Following Jordan's omission, I decided to take a punt on McDermott as my starting WKP and set Doran as the (E). Here's hoping he will return against the Heat! Worst-case scenario I will receive Doran's score...

Trades:
Stoinis > Owen
Allen > Chaudhary
Jordan > Meredith

It's an unusual situation, I'm pleased with my trades and VC decision, but I can't help but feel I'm behind the 8-ball. Missing the Bethell and Green duo has really hurt. While it's far from ideal, I can find some relief knowing:
  • 1st has Green but doesn't have Bethell
  • 3rd has neither
However, this has definitely opened the door for the chase pack!

The remainder of the round is out of my control, so here's hoping lady luck is on my side over the next 48 hours.
Thanks for sharing where the three of you are at as you try to consolidate your rankings inside the top 10. You all look well placed to make a final round assault at the title. Please know that the rest of us at SCS are cheering the three of you all the way home, hopefully to take a clean sweep of the podium!

I am sure that the final decisions will have you second guessing yourselves, but keep backing your instincts. Your decision making is what has got you to where you are now. No matter what transpires from here, you should all be proud of what you have achieved this season.

Not discounting the 🐐

I am sure you still have a trick or 2 up your sleeve to have one final roll of the dice

I've currently got the VC on David and the C on Smith, nervous about tomorrow nights forecast for Brisbane, any locals with some insight?

They have more important things to worry about than me. I am off licking my wounds after last round, so they can worry about me next year when I come back fitter and stronger!
