Rowsus: 1,231 - Owen

Wife: 1,109 - Owen

Coming into tonight's game, the Wife had me on toast!!!!

The equation was:
Rowsus: Jewell + 90
Wife: Wade + David + Meredith

I wouldn't have backed myself to win with phony money!!!!
And yet, I beat her by over 100! Jewell 116 v her 3 totalling 69!!!

The Wife traded Green + Overton, and benched Johnson for D Short.
She could have cracked 1,300 with a few different calls.

5/912 (with Short dropping out) or 6/921 (with Doran dropping out. With the Sixers winning I expect him to be omitted for Jordan)

Overton 102
Edwards 60
Short 16

Overton good with both bat and ball. Ends on a 73.8 average, great campaign from him. Edwards just can’t string together a big score. Did well with the ball but got run out early. Could make an argument that he got barbecued but I think there was easily 2 there, especially with Smith making it to the danger end. Basics… run the first one hard! Short a failure. Hoping lots decided to bite the bullet to grab him and not Smith! Had him for the 164 as captain last round so you can’t complain.
1309 Owen

Owen C 105x2 (219x2)
Ellis 86 (143)
Chaudhary 55 (122)
Doran 18 (25)
Wade 15 (81)
Meredith 13 (101)

Owen excellent as captain. Never imagined him bowling so many overs, blessed. Ellis with a lot of junk. Chaudhary batted well, can’t say I was too upset when he got out though! Doran and Wade didn’t have an opportunity. Meredith dreadful but did excellently last game.

1387 Chaudhary

Game 1: 1/154 - Green (e taken), Billings (e)
Game 2: 2/654 - Bethell (e taken), Owen, Meredith, Chaudhary (v taken), Ellis, David, Sutherland, Zampa (excluded)
Game 3: 3/224 - Overton, Shaw, Edwards, Doggett (bench); Kerr (bench)
Game 4: 5/355 - Owen, Ellis, Chaudhary (c), David, Meredith

Great round where pretty much everything went right in what has been a very frustrating season to date. Unfortunately, I think I will still be a bit behind the Owen captainers. However I was a $200 and Jordan selection away from not having him at all. Still don't quite understand how Chaudhary goes from 5th/6th Cane bowler to 7th falling behind Owen and David when they pick one less front line bowler and Owen goes from not bowling a ball to the 5th/6th.

thanks for taking your time to write that i’ll keep that in mind for the future, meant a lot going from one dual champion to hopefully a future one! i can believe i was 8th at one point and was even 1st in NSW. i think the biggest issue was going for ridiculous POD’s who just never delivers like stanlake this round.

also second doubting my trades made a big part in my season, i’d bring in a player who i thought could deliver but switched last second only to watch in despair as Moses henriques gets 107 where’s i traded in Hardie who gets a duck

same issue with looping both on the bench and for captain, made some silly decisions which costed me big time

thanks for ur words of wisdom andrew. i’ll keep it in mind for future seasons and always follow ur advice 👍
Thankyou and my pleasure, but my next word of wisdom is don’t always follow my advice! :ROFLMAO:

However, learn from your mistakes. A lot of great batters say they never want to get out the same way twice. Same goes for SuperCoach. If you try something and it goes against you, tweak your approach for next time. Taking the same approach and hoping for more “luck” (or less “bad luck”) is not the way to go. It is a game of percentages, so play them with head, not heart!

BBL is much more volatile when it comes to scoring than other SC sports. Therefore it is more important to weigh up risk, and I have found that opportunity (player role and scoring opportunity) outweighs individual player skill … well at least until I get better at picking the eyes out of player form each game!

I hope that you take the time to review your team and learn from mistakes, and if you do, I really hope you win it three times! (y)

1085. Will take it but a little bit frustrating not captaining Owen. I started with him, had been keen on him all season, and had the VC ready to go on him this round. That was until I saw that first lineup where it looked like Chaudhary would bat 4 and bowl 4. Still think I made the right play, because I didn’t think Owen would bowl, but I just wish I’d kept backing him in!

966 - Meredith

Was happy with performances from; Overton - Johnson - Green, however the likes of; Philippe - M. Short (did drop out) - Sutho - Rogers (though kinda blame Sutho) probably let me down a bit.

On the double I had; Wade - Meredith - Chaudhary (did have Jordan, but traded him out)

All in all seems like a pretty solid week, hopefully can crack back into the top 1K this week.
