457k to play with, three players to buy, who would you guys go for?

Thinking Maxwell, Bartlett and O'Neill.
With Canes locked into first, would be going as heavy on Stars as you dare. Lots of good options even if you take Maxwell.

Interesting to see what the 3 of them do , obviously hope they keep their cards close to their chest

Before trades

@Beast_Mode has :-

Tonight : Christian (?) & Warner

Overton (could use as a 🍩)

McDermott & Scott DNP from last round

@Miller is a Steele has :-

Tonight : Billings , Edwards & Green

Bethell (fixture doesn't favour using him as a 🍩) & Overton

McKenzie DNP

@All is Wells has :-

Tonight : Green & Warner

Bethell & Overton

Scott DNP

11 points between the 3 of them

Could all come down to a dot ball and a catch 😱

Good 👍 luck
@Beast_Mode & @All is Wells

Did either of you field him (Scott) or have him as E to use his score ?

I’m not sure if anyone has seen a proper calc, but I reckon the Stars may need to win by 50-60 runs (or equivalent) to get ahead of the Scorchers and progress.

To me this suggests they will be going hard from the start (assuming they are playing optimal strategy, which probably isn’t a given at the Stars). I would be promoting anyone with a high strike rate, and so on.

It would also be interesting to be inside the tent at Hobart - would they rather have the Scorchers or the Stars progress? Do they select their side or approach the game on that basis? While the Stars’ form has been good, I think I’d be more concerned about playing the Scorchers in a big final than the Stars … in which case I may actually want the Stars to progress.

The potential for a big win by the Stars could increase if either or both teams adapt their selections and strategy along these lines.
???

Scorchers are 8 pts , Stars are 8 pts

They win , they advance

Apologies, you are correct Herbie. I think I was looking at a slightly out of date ladder and managed to confuse myself.

If the Hurricanes did want the Stars to progress, it would be pretty straightforward (and arguably quite legitimate anyway) to rest some of their key players, give some opportunity to some players who had had weaker roles, etc.

hehe , confused me for a moment as well

Certainly a few interesting selections for sure , do they risk both Jordan & McDermott ?

Does Meredith get managed ? Does Wade get managed ?

Do they give Gannon a game or is he just cover ?

Dooley hasn't played a game all season.

Go back to 6-5 or stay 7-4.

Tonight's Squad has 7 bats & 7 bowlers in it

Qualifier is Tuesday so not much turn around

I think all clubs have to have up to 10 players contracted by the time the Player Movement Window opens on the 28th.

Hopefully cricket.com.au gives us a list of all contracted players.

Think only Hope and Hosein of the pre-signings didn't sign 2 year deals , Billings was three.

BBL 15 not far away 🤗
