Does anyone have any interest in Rozee? Obviously Butters the uber premium option, but haven’t heard any interest in Rozee at his reduced priced. Had that stupid mid year self induced injury issues. Port have a great early run of games so feel like choosing one of him or Butters is likely going to be a must for me. But Bont + Butters is a huge outlay.

In my team currently. Defo upside at his price. Lots in his favour, draw, bye, possible a bit of Houston vacuum to be filled by the mids etc. Like I had him last year at $600k (ouch), $70k cheaper this season (yes, I know the Flex has changed the pricing etc).

Yep I was the same last year. I figure he’s probably third in line for a tag as well. Butters first, then maybe JHF. But does he get less mid minutes with JHF apparently getting more? Or is Wines just getting pushed out

I don't think he'll get less minutes, all things equal. Wines is in his age 31 season, big boy too, about 100 kg. Game is moving towards these hyper mobile mids like Daicos, Sheez, Butters etc. Rozee is their 2nd best mid behind Butters.

Could be a good cheap M8 with a 105-110 range.

Rozee is very hard to pick.

Bye is terrible, obviously.

Played forward a lot later in the year so JHF could get more midfield minutes so there's uncertainty in how much mid he plays as opposed to forward. He's a good forward but he's a 80-95 type there as opposed to the 115 you really want from him as a goal.

Definitely upside and underpriced on his best given the injury albeit that is another concern given soft tissue tends to come back and he's also had some ankle issues and misses a few games generally, albeit better of late until the hamstring.

Ultimately the bye is the big one for me though. Sheezel is just about a lock down back, imo. Throw in Bont, Butters, LDU, Parker, Daniel, Dale, Williams, O'Sullivan, McKercher, JHF, Xerri, Cripps, Docherty, Cerra, TDK and a few others and I kind of want either more upside or more certainty to burn one of the oh so valuable round 12 bye slots on it. Would be nothing worse than him playing enough forward to not be worth it as a mid but not enough to get FWD status as the bailout.

I do like Houston gone as he loves to get the cheapies down back and Houston tended to vulture a lot of those chances last year.

Preaseason hopefully will reveal a bit, defintiely on the radar but find him very hard to take over some of the other options.

Did not consider last season due to the high price tag and lack of a ceiling in comparison to Butters, so opted for Butters. Yet to play around with a 2 $600,000+ midfield setup as Rozee has been in the M2/M3 spot behind Bontempelli in most iterations. Horne Francis the only forward above Macrae’s price tag I have looked at yet, so Butters has yet to come under consideration as I do not want three Port premiums with D Williams and J Berry as potential rookie priced onfield options as well.

Ideally Wines gets pushed out but the trouble is finding another position for him besides the bench given he historically hovers around that low to mid 70% TOG range. Poor kick and two way running of midfielders will need to improve.

"A little bit unusual; a bit of a stress injury, or a precursor like a hotspot ... we did a leadership camp in New Zealand and he actually slipped going down a bit of a hill so we think that just sort of flared it up.

"We had a CAT scan, there's no stress or fracture, it's just settled and he's moving so he'll probably appreciate the rest of a week or two.

Well Ross the guy below is also moving but that doesn't mean he plays. Given the record of Ross, I wouldn't be sure Marshall plays until he runs out onto the ground (without assistance) for Round 1.

I'll run with Sheez, Bont, Daniel, JHF, Xerri (like most people) and then maybe O'Sullivan. Don't have a heap of interest in the rest.

Then I'm definitely running one of Butters or Rozee. It's just a matter of which one - I agree you can't overload the Rnd 12 bye. But that's not going to stop me choosing players that I think are must haves for the first 11 rounds. And my trading strategy during those opening rounds will be aimed around setting myself up for the back-end byes. There's a lot to happen between now and Round 12 and Port start the year with the Pies, Richmond, Essendon and then Saints and Hawks at home.
I can see Rozee and/or Butters averaging 120+ through those first 5 rounds. And with the likely tag going to Butters (or JHF), then does Rozee get off the leash?

I agree the fwd time was a little worrying, but I honestly think that was more injury-related than anything else with them trying to be a little cautious about the amount of work he did in games post the soft tissue issues.

Despite all of this, at the moment I've got Butters because I can't figure out what I'd do with the extra $100k haha

What are you talking about? He is starting in the middle for Geelong as their star recruit...

I intend to pick Rozee.. the price (529K) is right, no doubt he can outscore 98ppg
Someone raised the risk that he may play more as a forward, but he is the Captain and I’m expecting he stays in the mids

Attempt number 52 million.

I'm content with my backline and mids however my ruck and forward situation needs work. I'm thinking if i continue with this strategy, i can always trade to fix the two lines.

I don't like taking risks on so many players coming back from injury or swapping clubs but here we are.

Proj Score 1870
9K left in the bank.

Would love some thoughts.

Flynn at R2 is risky for mine - really not sure on his JS, him & B Williams might alternate as the lead ruck each week.

Think you are 1 too many premium heavy in defence - maybe drop 1 for Z Reid & place 1 of Allan/SEH on the field.

Very expensive mid bench you have currently. Preseason games will reveal more & hopefully offer cheaper options.
