Hey Rowsus,
I think I have had enough of Shaw and Dunn down back.
My forward line looks ok, will upgrade later if cash allows
What are your thoughts on these trades?

OUT Langdon ($411,200) IN K Mitchell ($240,200) or C Shenton ($155,300)
OUT Shaw ($472,100) or L Dunn ($416,900) IN Watson ($551,500) or M Johnson ($499,700)

Johnson in will help my defenders (still need another upgrade there after Johnson coming in)
Watson in will help mids leaving only one more upgrade (looking at Stevie J if money permits in coming weeks)
Also will lose my mid/def swing if Langdon goes, had both Bartell and Langdon in mids this week. (McVeigh out of reach I think)
Other option is to keep both Shaw and Dunn and live with them and try to go one up one down this week, but not sure who? KK doing ok down back, should keep him for a while. I have Tippett and Cutler down back also

Only $34,300 in kitty. 11 trades left prior to this week
I'm only concerned with climbing rankings not league, but as it turns out doing quite well in league ATM.

Probably confused you, but as usual I appreciate your comments, and congrats on such a mammoth thread and number of posts. Well done!;)

PS. Just wondering haven't heard from "Brogues" lately. What's up with him?
Another thought.
Leave me $522K for next week to go BANG BANG?

OUT Langdon ($411,200) IN Shenton ($155,300)
OUT Shaw ($472,100) IN Mitchell ($240,200)
Hey Juzzo, thanks for the kind words. :)
I'm not sure what has happened with Broges. Maybe he's gone on Holidays somewhere.

I'm not a fan of bringing in K Mitchell. He falls out of favour too quickly, and sometimes it appears to be for no apparent reason.
How about something a little leftfield.
Tippett and Dunn out for Hunt (Melb DPP) and Hurn?
It maintains a DPP link for you to link Bartel back to Defence when you want, it fixes your Dunn "desire" (I'd keep Shaw), and leaves you around $74k towards next weeks upgrades. Tippett has to go out at some stage, there's no point hanging on to him.
To me it's a little sideways, but I'm running with a suggestion along the lines of fixing your Dunn (and Tippett) problem, while maintaining a DPP link.
Good luck :)

Hey Rowsus, is it worthwhile trading langdon to Jayden hunt in order to maximise cash and possibly pick up maximum points by using a loophole that move across def/mid? If I get bews he may make some cash but could end up as a donut anyway but stuck in def.

Row so sutcliffe or langdon to bews , then what should i be aiming towards ??? , did you see my team , what forwards to do as well mate not that many trades left want to use them wisely
I think I'd be targetting Birchall in Defence, or Hurn if you want to maximise your Cash, or possibly R Gray up Forward.
Good luck :)

Hey doc,
it's definitely an option, particularly if you have faith in your current Mid/Def bench sitters. I actually just suggested it to Juzzo.
Good luck :)

Thanks Row, Have Langdon and Langford on def bench and aish hartung as mid bench warmers, may do aish to hunt and lloyd to shenton but if lloyd plays then maybe ambrose would give me about 290 to use next week, but mean shenton on field this week. Or should I use the aish cash to upgrade lloyd to roughy wingard or other. If i do that I"ll still have langdon langford tyson and higgins I can cull at a later date.

Happy to help doc.
Looking at your team, I'd go Aish to Hunt, then make a Fwd upgrade, even to as high in Price as R Gray. Otherwise a Roughie or Wingard if you want to save some Cash.
Good luck :)

Happy to help FT,
For the moment I'd leave Acres and Georgiou alone, and concentrate on the improvememnts.

To be honest, I usually avoid specific recommendations like trade out A and B, trade in C and D.
The Coaches who write in here have opinions of their own that should be factored in, and also plans that might be disrupted by me suggesting overly specific trades.
In your case, I will make an exception.
If I was in charge of your team, I would:
Lloyd to Shenton, or Sutcliffe to Bews, then Langdon to Hurn to save money for next week.
Good luck :)

Hey Rowsus or anyone else who wants to help.

What are opinions on Buddy Franklin, picking any player off two centuries at 400k is usually a pretty good deal right?
But the main question is can he sustain a 95 average for the rest of the year? Is it just a coincidence that when Tippet comes back he scores consecutive centuries or is it also to do with his increased understanding of the game plan and his teammates increased understanding of him?

Has struggled against Geelong in the past having not score over 65 in there 3 encounters this year but I think lonergans out who normally matches up on him.
Also GWS to come which could be a huge score, but have a tough run as ranked by champion data but I don't see it as too much of a problem.
I think buddy can do well, which is why I held him during the bad times. I can understand you waiting until next week though.

You're right, any trades done now cannot be reversed.
your Shenton Desire is what I was talking about, with not wanting to suggest specific trades. It's also against your intial trades this week, that had Jaensch and Hanley coming in.
If you have Shenton in your Fwds, you can shift him up to your Mids in 2 or 3 weeks when Hallahan get's traded out.

So with Hallahan i look to get in a fwd say Parker or Boomer or Gray then switch Shenton there then ok i get it
so it will be Shenton for Lloyd and Langdon for Hurn , should i do sutcliffe r Langdon for Hurn/Birchall

Simple question this time around Row :)
While everyone is jumping on board, looks like I will be missing out on Shenton.
His DPP and good job security makes him a really tasty prospect but I can't see myself trading in Shenton over Barlow this round.
Can I afford to miss him?

Looking at my team, I have 11 trades left and more than $380,000 left in the kitty.
If Barlow comes in this week, I only need 1 more FWD upgrade (Parker), one more MID upgrade (Stevie J) and 2 more DEF upgrades (Swallow & XXX).
Players like Suckling and Tyson should hold their spot, will be last to go and shouldn't cost me too much to upgrade.
You reckon I can give Shenton a miss?

It's either Polec > Barlow or Lloyd > Shenton and playing Polec on ground then do a double upgrade next week.

Rowsus,

I have 3 upgrades to make (D6, M8 and F6) but I keep on thinking about Lobbe.

With Renouf and Redden both gone for the year Lobbe has no risk of being rested unless he picks up an inj.

Given this why is it that I keep on looking at Goldy and thinking about an almost direct swap in a week or two?

Do you think Lobbe or Goldy will pick up their points this year and should I forget about a sideways trade? (13 trades left.)
