Hey Rowscus, congratulations and a big thankyou to the huge contribution you have made to this site.

Just wondering what you think about this left of centre out of the box idea.

Trade out Cotchin this week over Polec. (Will eventually aim to remove both these players and Tyson).

Polec:
Price: 457, 500
Breakeven: 124 (66 will be cycled out next round)
Next 2: Melbourne, Saints (then trade out), Sydney, Adelaide, dogs after
Comments: Scored 141 against GWS., and with easy draw he could increase in price dramatically.

Cotchin:
Price: 510,800
Breakeven: 99 (93 will be kept for next 2 rounds)
Next 2: Essendon (hocking), North (then out),
Comments: Lower risk, has Crowley after north as well so would want to move him on before then.

Can Polec average more in the next 2 rounds?
Will Polec rise in price more in the next two rounds?

Not expecting you to predict their exact prices but what would you expect to see Polec priced is he score 2 *110's Vs Cotchin at 105.

Thanks again in advance for your great advice and work
Hey McC, thanks for that.
I've been meaning to ask, what is this "Rowscus" you keep using?

Under your scenario, where Polec goes 110, 110, and Cotchin 105,105 my best guestimate is:
Polec - $451,800 B/E 78, followed by $465,900 B/E 60 - net gain $8,400
Cotchin - $513,400 B/E 110, followed by $511,200 B/E 97 - net gain $900
I'm not sure I share your confidence in Polec going 110, 110 - he has only passed that mark once. I would only seriously contemplate it if you believe Cotchin will still be hampered by his ankle (?), which is a possibility.
Good luck :)

Hey Rowsus, love your work.
Whats your take on Hanley? a worthy D5-D6 ? my other 5 are Bartel, Hibberd, Mcviegh, Swallow, Adcock
Hey Maso, high praise from an original member! Thanks :)
I'm a bit worried about Hanley, to be honest. He seems to be under a constant injury cloud, and Brisbanes draw isn't great for a FTB, even though they have a Melb and a GWS to come. I don't think I'd want to be riding 2 Lion Defenders through the rest of the season, so I'd look elsewhere.
Good luck :)

Hi Rowsus,

i did in fact go with Naitanui last week and feeling pretty nervous, however watching him move better v Collingwood last week has given me confidence. Massive risk but could pay off if Sandi goes down.

I now have 14 trades left, 5k and an overall ranking of 109.

I am struggling to find anyone to trade out in my team, which I am now worried I will fall behind the pack in completing my team if I do not trade this week. This is probably illogical but I hope you can probably see where I am coming from.

I have Enright and was already beginning to get worried whether he will score at a premium rate, so do you think I should trade him out?

I have many rookies who are almost reaching their price max price but not quite there yet. Langford, Tyson, McDonald and Taylor. Do you recommend trading one of these rookies out who still have a bit mroe to grow for the sake of cash generation or completing my team?

Thanks again Rowsus

I'm torn between the fact Polec has only scored 100 plus 3 times this season vs the opposition and his score vs GWS. But at the same time his score was inflated by kicking 3 goals. Also only have 13 trades :/

can I give you my password and you do this week for me lol

Have fun with Enright. You need someone who is capable of destructive scores mate.

Cheers thanks a lot, yeah I'm not to confident either just that 141 was against GWS in a big win Melb/Saints arn't the same but who knows. Think I'll still with the safer option and keep Cotchin.
Not sure what I was doing with the Rowscus hahaha, habit I suppose.

Hey Rowsus,

Currently ranked 321 so pretty happy and just want to keep my run going even
though I am too far off to win it. Your advice so far has been great and is much appreciated. You do a great job.
Struggled what to do this week with trades slowly drying up and bench cover disappearing fast.
Was thinking getting Buddy in this week with just the one trade via Lloyd but do I need to rather look at a Bartel or
another Premo mid first?

My options I was considering are:

1. Buckley to Bartel (hold Bartel in mids for another week or so then swap to def and upgrade Langdon to Premo mid
2. Lloyd to Buddy (leaves 96K)
3. Lloyd to Shenton, Buckley to Watson
4. Any other suggested option

Just not sure this week. Have 13 trades and $280K

B: McVeigh, Simpson, Jaensch, Swallow, Hibberd, Langdon (Langford, Bews)
M:Ablett, Pendles, fyfe, Libba, Murphy, Beams, Selwood, L.Taylor (ACRES, BUCKLEY)
R: Minson, Sandi (Thurlow, Currie)
F: Danger, Martin, R.Gray, Pav, Higgins, Cameron (LlOYD, Ambrose)

Any help much appreciated
Congratulations Slammer on your current high position.

This would make a great poll question as you are in a unique position and trying to fill the last 3 parts of your side, and hence worthy of a thread in of itself as it provides us all with a 'Supercoach lesson".

Buddy could go beserk and make up your difference making you a geniune contender. Or do the other options translate into incremental gains on the others.

Good luck.:)
Hey Slammer,
great job so far, well done! :)
I think your plans greatly hinge on omorrow nights selections. If Lloyd gets picked, you probably need to hold him, given his low B/E, if he doesn't you may as well ditch him, as we can't be certain when/if he'll be back.
I like you Buckley to Bartel idea, as your Def 5/6 look a bit iffy (I'm not a Jaensch fan.) Then I'd go either Taylor to Shenton (if Lloyd is picked), or Lloyd to Shenton. This should allow some more upgrades next week.
Good luck, and stay aggressive! :)
I would definitely go:
Lloyd to Buddy
Buckley to Shenton
Leaving 211k for Taylor to a premium mid next week!

Hi Rowsus
I have read your previous comments and concerns regarding Hanley and at the risk of making you repeat yourself, just want to ask you opinion regarding him v's Suckling. I guess my main question is do you think Suckling is a keeper at D6 ?
If not, do you think Hanley would be preferable (possibly in a few weeks after further price drop and if he shows improved performance) or do you see him as a worse option than Suckling? Thanks in advance.

Hey Bomber18,
I got Taylor a couple of weeks ago, and he is cheap, but I'd recommend holding off this week.
The sample of games he has played without Lonergan is pretty small, there is only 6 since 2010.
In that time Taylor has averaged 84.4 in all home and away games. In the 6 games he played without Lonergan he only averaged 61.2.
You might have something there! Well spotted. :)
Thanks for the response!
I was thinking he might be stuck in a more defensive role, which would affect his scoring.

Hi Rowsus. Thanks for all the time and effort you put in with answering our questions. Greatly appreciated.

I am in a pickle with regards to Langdon and what to do with him. It's clear that his SC scoring is heavily negatively impacted when Fasolo is in the side.

My defence is: Swallow, Simpson, McVeigh, Hanley, Thompson, Langdon (Georgiou, Hunt)

I have 180k in the bank and ideally I would still like 150k or more left over to do some
other planned trades in the coming weeks.

So my question is what do you think I should I do with Langdon this week?

A. Hold him
B. Trade him for Jaensch
C. Trade him for Hurn

Thanks mate!

Thanks guys
Yeah worried Buddy could go big this week thats why I proposed the question.
But also like the idea of bringing in Bartel in which I could swing to defence the week after and upgrade Langdon when needed
Tough choice

Hey Rowsus,
I think I have had enough of Shaw and Dunn down back.
My forward line looks ok, will upgrade later if cash allows
What are your thoughts on these trades?

OUT Langdon ($411,200) IN K Mitchell ($240,200) or C Shenton ($155,300)
OUT Shaw ($472,100) or L Dunn ($416,900) IN Watson ($551,500) or M Johnson ($499,700)

Johnson in will help my defenders (still need another upgrade there after Johnson coming in)
Watson in will help mids leaving only one more upgrade (looking at Stevie J if money permits in coming weeks)
Also will lose my mid/def swing if Langdon goes, had both Bartell and Langdon in mids this week. (McVeigh out of reach I think)
Other option is to keep both Shaw and Dunn and live with them and try to go one up one down this week, but not sure who? KK doing ok down back, should keep him for a while. I have Tippett and Cutler down back also

Only $34,300 in kitty. 11 trades left prior to this week
I'm only concerned with climbing rankings not league, but as it turns out doing quite well in league ATM.

Probably confused you, but as usual I appreciate your comments, and congrats on such a mammoth thread and number of posts. Well done!;)

PS. Just wondering haven't heard from "Brogues" lately. What's up with him?

Another thought.
Leave me $522K for next week to go BANG BANG?

OUT Langdon ($411,200) IN Shenton ($155,300)
OUT Shaw ($472,100) IN Mitchell ($240,200)

Hey FT,
I think you are being a little impatient with your trades this week. I would ditch the Jaensch trade, and get Bews instead. I think you'll be disappointed with Jaensch at D6, and Bews injects some Cash, and makes some Cash for you too. When you can't see how you are going to make Cash for upgrades, you really need to bring in the best bubble boy available.
Good luck :)
Row so sutcliffe or langdon to bews , then what should i be aiming towards ??? , did you see my team , what forwards to do as well mate not that many trades left want to use them wisely

Hi HoM,
great work so far, but you can't afford to sit on your hands now. Any team at the pointy end not making changes is giving up an advantage to the other teams. It looks like you are still 2.5 upgrades away from a full 22, most top sides will only be one upgrade away after this week. (the 0.5 is Tyson)
Dimma taught guys in your position a good lesson last year. He didn't wait to milk every last dollar out of his Rookies. He moved them on, if that's what he needed to do, to make improvements to his team.
McDonald definitely needs to go, probably down to Bews. That gives you around $172k left, including your $5k.
That would allow you to trade Langford to Birchall/Hurn, if you like either of them, or Taylor to Wingard, if you like him.
If you don't like any of those options, I think you need to downgrade Taylor to Shenton, so you have built your bank for next weeks upgrade/s.
Personally, I'd choose between Birchall and Wingard.
As to Enright, I don't think you can afford to sideways him, while you are still short of a full starting 22.
Good luck, I hope you jump the right way. Remember, if you are sitting still before you have a full team, you are effectively going backwards.

Hi RB,
I don't think Suckling is a good option for D6, unless you are struggling to complete your team. If you are going to settle/make compromises, then D6 is the best place to start. Suckling should be one of the last 2 upgrades you make, or if you are flying and can afford it, you keep him at D7.
I don't see a Suckling to Hanley trade being worthwhile. I'd prefer to wait a week or two, and get someone better. I think he possibly out scores Suckling by a little over the rest of the season, but I am sure there are better options available.
Good luck :)

Hi BB, thanks for that :)
Given you only want to spend $30k, I would probably go Langdon to Hurn. I don't like Jaensch, and I think he'll struggle to score at the level you'd like for a D6 from here. The other option is Murphy R, if you have any faith/belief he can recapture last seasons form, but I'd prefer Hurn. If you can squeeze an extra $26k out, I'd prefer Birchall to Hurn.
Good luck :)
