There has been a large amount of conversation regarding TBC, below is the biggest thing i have taken from the discussion.

freowho - "If you are trying to cover a late out TBC needs to sit at R3. Lot of money for someone to sit on the bench all year."
Read that to, by eminent players at that. But it is not the purpose of my thought. It is the one or two week injury to a ruckman. TBC sits in the forward line playing ordinarily as one of my 6, hopefully making some good points and dollars. NicNat or whoever is out for a week or two, I have cover with Cox as R/F. Is plenty of playing forward rookies (maybe) to cover TBC.

Then again, take two premium rucks and hope for the best...

Well basically nobody knows what the old and new scoring actually is.

I'm sure the players at the top of the hitouts the advantage list will be positively effected in some way though.

I would take it into slight consideration when choosing between players but certainly don't base a selection around it. (If you thought Jacobs would average 100-105 before, don't pick him.)

I think most ruckmen will probably score slightly worse next season though, making a R/F in the forward look less appetising.
I literally have no idea what effect the scoring will have. Ive said this before, but I think the biggest change will be when we understand what effect hit outs to opponent have. I'll be playing it by ear and paying for value at the start with the eye to upgrade before the byes.

I have a feeling this will be the best way to go about it. Unless it looks like the scoring change will have a massive impact during the NAB Challenge, value will by my number one priority with the ruck line.

This is actually more clearer! (and about as up to date!)

If the ruckman's hit out goes to advantage he gets 50% of what the teammate receiving it gets for his disposal. If the resulting passage of play ends in a goal the ruckman receives a proportionate percentage of the 8pts for a goal based on how many players were involved in the chain.

If the ruckman hits it to disadvantage he loses 3pts and a further 3 points for every subsequent opposition disposal until the ball is in dispute. If the result of his hitout to disadvantage ends up in an opposition goal he loses a further 8 points.

If the ruckman's hitout is neither to advantage or disadvantage he gets no points but the result of the hitout in his next ruck contest is doubled if hit to disadvantage.

If this all play out as true for 2015 it should be a big year for Big Sauce! Be hard not to start without him in SC!

Anyone taking the more cautious approach with rucks due to only having 1 EMG Ruck?

Or do we think it won't matter?

I think anyone not taking a cautious approach either needs to commit to trading when problems hit, or wearing a donut. There's no doubt, problems will hit. At this stage I will have TBC or Ryder in my Fwd line. While this doesn't provide cover for late outs, it does give some sense of safety.

I'm thinking the same too.

I also have Ryder in my radar, but don't like the price, especially in a new team with an established ruckman.

On the flip side of having one less Ruck is having one extra Midfield too.

I hear you re having cover, however my concern with TBC is that he has a history of missing lots of games and there is no guarantee that he will be available to cover in the Ruc when required and may need to be traded himself at some stage.

Only needs to stay on the park for the first 6-10 games and hopefully his price will be close to par with some of the other top prem fwds. Straight swap if and when he breaks down

True - although you then lose your ruck cover!

Also by then though if you go with Nic Nat, Kreuser or leuenberger they should have jumped up in price to so u should be able to upgrade to a proven prem for the year. Rucks I think are the hardest to pick they never seem to have 2 outstanding years in a row

You don't really wish it upon him, but if Sandi goes down in pre-season then Zac Clarke becomes an affordable R/F option.

Surely Clarke will play if fit anyway? His SC points are probably suspect, but he tags with Sandi and in the fwd line. I would have thought perhaps Griffin comes in if Sandi gets injured?

Clarke would be #1 ruck if Sandi is down. He scores more points when rucking rather than hiding in the forward line.

Am I the only one with Minson in version 1 team? Hmmm
Yes you are!

Not the worse choice though, should at least maintain last years average, but I personally think his 2013 year was a one off spike.

Happy to be proven wrong though.
