I think the problem is apart from Berger, there aren't too many other viable and semi proven mid priced options...Kreuzer injured, TBC under the ASADA cloud, Zac Clarke has Sandi...Zac Smith and Hickey might be gambles worth taking, but no one really jumps out

Any love for Blicavs at R2 until we work out who the best rucks are? I think he has lost his vest and his body is conditioned enough now that he won't be 'rested'. Seriously thinking about running a Mumford/Blicavs or Goldy/Blicavs structure.

Hey Courtesans,

I am toying with the idea still. With the new Ruck rules and uncertainty surrounding the scoring and how will affect the Rucks, I have contemplated started with Nic Nat and Leuy.
I figure by taking the risk with Nic Nac who could average a 90-100 and Leuy who maybe good for 80 it may free up enough cash to make the difference elsewhere with another gun premo
in the forward or mid lines. eg. A Selwood rather than a Swallow or Steven or a Bartel or Buddy rather than a Swan

Just a thought anyway

Am possibly starting Lycett and Smith. Upgrade one and downgrade the other when Kreuzer comes back and plays a couple is the plan.
However, much like a battle plan, it never lasts further than the first engagement, ie Round 1.

After reading KLo's thread about Top 30, there is 90%+ certainty that a top 2 ruck comes from outside the top 10. Am i confident it'll be Leuie? not entirely but it's given me some confidence to choose him and cop the whack if necessary. He was a corrective trade for me last year and if he has to be a stepping stone, or traded early again, so be it. I have Goldy at R1 so it's a minor risk, Leuie at R2 but it certainly makes the rest of my team look great.

I've got the Goldstein-Leuenberger combo too. I doubt Leuenberger will be a R2 for the season but I expect him to generate about 150k, which makes him a viable mid-priced cashcow.

Last season I traded Sandilands in his round 10 bye week for Goldstein and made a 70k profit after he started 300k behind. Leuenberger and Jacobs are 262k apart and I reckon Jacobs could drop to 550k and Leuenberger rise to 500k, which (if correct) would make him worth starting over Jacobs. Only problem is they have the same bye round so there is no initial extra point advantage that I got for my trade last season.

I might surprise you then! :p

50/50 atm, 2 middys or 2 top enders
Ditto. If Essendon are cleared today and Giles isn't named on Thursday then Bellchambers and Nic Nat will be my ruck combo. Won't be a popular combo but I am happy to roll the dice as for me, the potential benefits outweigh the many negatives and level of risk.

What are people's thoughts on Will Minson?
Played over 20 games with an average of over 90 the past 3 years, yet his name doesn't seem to get thrown around much.
Are there many concerns with starting with him?

Injury concerns I believe. Would be a great pick and steal if he returned to his 2013 form.

What happened to Hickey? He is my only backup ruck in a cash draft league so I probably need him to play at some point.

Woah, that would change things in the ruck department - all of a sudden, Holmes, Pierce and Longer could be useful!

wait and see, names to be released late this week or early next week, assuming the tweet had substance.

Teams might tell us a lot though.

Cripps a lock though I reckon.
