Hey Rowsus, what's your thoughts on Big Tex Walker?
He's currently in my team because of his nice first half draw, will Probally look to upgrade him. Really think he can pull some big scores this first half of the year and I assume he's a POD. He's fired up
Hey brad182,
he is one of the better tall Fwd options, but unfortunately, they score too many sub 80's in recent seasons. He may turn out to be a Fwd keeper, especially as he can push up the ground, and gather possessions, but until something changes in their scoring patterns, I will be avoiding KPF's. In the early days of SC we had Brown and Hall giving us 130+ seasons, but something changed, and right now, they just usually don't get close to or over 100/game.

Hey Rowsus, What are your thoughts on Rockliff? After seeing his solid finish to his season last year , i'm worried that the return of Rich and the addition of Beams might create a conflict of points.
Hi Steuby, as Rowsus will probably be under the pump once he wakes up (He is overseas) I'd suggest in the mean time that you have a look at the thread below. He has done a massive analysis on Rocky there.

Thanks Phil :D

Thanks i did not realise there was this post!
Rocky is the historical benchmark at 50 and 100 games played for all players that debuted in, or after 2005. He is a risk at the price, and I don't expect him to go 130+ this season, but I think his monster score potential makes him a viable selection for Captain's Loophole purposes.

Hey Rowsus,

I am planning on starting Mumford in the rucks, then switching Bellchambers from my forward line into the rucks and trading Mummy out early. I am hoping I will be able to get two premos in quickly by doing this, one in the midfield and one in the forward line. How many rounds will I need to hold onto Mummy for players like Cam McCarthy and Patrick Cripps to appreciate enough in price to become stepping stones? I would ideally do it after just 3 rounds, but how much would McCarthy and Cripps appreciate in that short time if they were to average 80?

Thanks,
BomberSam.
I'm just going to jump in and point out price rises happen after round 3. So if you will need to hold on to players like Cripps (one of the best rookies) for at least I would say another 4 weeks afterwards. After 1 round at 80 I suspect a 40kish price rise which is not nearly enough when you will be aiming to get 200k+ minimum out of him.
Thanks McC :)

Thank you, McClungeMagnet.
Hey BS,
apart from what McC pointed out, I can't see sense in the plan, unless you have some extraordinary expectations on TBC's game count and scoring this season. Remember, the first step to failure/disappointment in SC is setting unrealistic expectations/goals.
Secondly, I would point out that Mummy has GC in Rnd 4, and Carlton in Rnd 7, both have suspect Rucking stocks, and he could score big against them, if he hasn't hit the wall by then. It would seem another reason it is crazy to trade him out after 3 rounds.

What do you think of Chris Yarran? Averaged 87 in his 3rd year, followed by two dismal SC seasons with mid 60 averages and returned to some form with an average of 82.6 with two sub affected scores last year.

Mudflap, I don't set an expectation for each one, but I look at what I might be happy with for my D6/M8/F6, and then keep in mind that I should only have one player, maybe sometimes two, that I expect to score at that rate. It can vary from season to season. Right now I am looking at:
D6 around 90
M8 around 105-108
F6 around 95-97
Thanks for that... I had set D6 at 90, M8 at 107 and F6 at 97...... dont think I could have got closer than that

Hi maken7,
sorry, I don't do "Rate My Team" here. The thread would fill up with them if I did, and I don't have time to do them all.
Hamling is a JS/low score risk.
I would only keep one of Lambert and Krakouer (if not named), unless you are 100% sure/happy with your other Rookie selections.

Ah yes understanable

Thanks for the advice

Hi Rowsus,
What are your thoughts on Birchall? If you don't like him, which defender do you suggest I get with 494k. Thanks

Hi aleceee,
I'm worried he's a little underdone. At that Price range I would be looking at Murphy or Johnson.

Hey Rowsus,

Like myself , I am disappointed in not picking Doherty after liking all pre-season. But I guess its early days.

Just a quick question.
Struggling to select fwd bench. Currently have A. Saad and Lamb
Should I stick with Saad? Coming back from drug ban and has obviously played before.
Or should I look at Lonie?
No longer sold on Salem at that price, so looking at other options.
Need to pick two out of Lamb, Lonie and Saad. (Unless there are any others)
