Hmmm - I am planning on upgrading to three R11 bye players (this week and before R12), none of which Tamuhawk has: Beams, BSmith and Birchall. Do you not like any of those options Rowsus?
They weren't among the options Tamu put up for consideration.
I think Beams is a really good pick, I think Smith represents really good value, but I have doubts about him achieving the levels hoped for and expected of him, at the start of the season.
Birchall can score well, but has a lot competitors for that rebounding role at Hawthorn, plus what Goodie said.
Thanks for clarifying Rowsus - I thought you were expressing skepticism about Tamuhawk being able to find two or three good R11 bye players he didn't already have ... which concerned me a little as I had already placed three of them on my shopping list! :)

Hi Tamu,
you'd have to back Wines in to outscore Dahlhaus from here, and he's cheaper than Dahlhaus. That alone makes option 1 the better looking option.
As to option 3, good luck finding 2 or 3 good upgrade targets amongst the Rnd 11 bye teams. Definitely option 1 for mine.
Cheers Rowsus

Stuck to my original plan of Wines & Dale. Definitely successful trades. :D

Hey Row

How much more does ZOB @ $262,300 have to score than Dumont @ $153,500 to make him a better pick?

Thanks

Hey Rowsus;

Is there any reason at all that one should pick up Keegan Brooksby, and if so, should one go FWD - Brooksby via Ruc/Fwd DPP, or Ruc-Fwd DPP - Brooksby?

Hey Rowsus,

If you get a chance I'd love to know what price Dumont will be heading into next week and BE??

Cheers,
Goodie

Hey MrM,
On a one week basis, ZOB is priced at 53 (scored 91), and Dumont at 31 (scored 74), so in that sense the answer is 22 (it was ZOB by 17, so technically a win to Dumont, but I'll call it a draw for now.)

Hey Eagling,
I can't see any point in wasting a trade on him. Scores poorly, and has very poor JS. I'm not sure I understand the second part of the question, but Brooksby is Ruck only, not Fwd/Ruck DPP.

My guesstimates are:
$193,500 with a B/E of -42
That's pretty useful, if he can bang out two more 70's in the coming weeks. It looks a lot better now that the 25 has dropped out of his pricing cycle!

How Row, Just wondering what are your thoughts on Saad? Is he a keeper?
How Johnsy,
His scores this season: 89, 90, 76 ,61, 85, 106, DNP, 84, 78, 70 - Ave 82
Only 2 scores 90+, and only 1 score 95+.
Coming into this round, there were 17 Defs averaging 90+, and 8 of those were 95+.
That would pretty much mean that Saad isn't a Keeper............ unless:
1) You can afford a near $400k D7/M9, and not too many teams will be able to do that.
2) You are really struggling to fill your team, and you need to save both money and trades, by sitting him at D6.

Would be interested to hear your thoughts whether Newnes would more be in the sights than Saad come round 12? First poor game from Newnes and coming off his best game. Next week could be telling for one of them.

What would his value be if he does score two more 70's? Wondering if he's worth bringing in for CEY this week.

Bobbie if he scores 70 and plays until round 16 then he will make 120k. You would expect him to have some big games along the way. The issue that I have is the depth of nth if he plays two bad games then his out. His priced at 193 k my initial thoughts is to let him go and focus on a Boston type player but keen to hear row opinion? Sorry row for answering the question on your behalf

Thanks Rowsus.

What I meant was - most of us have Cox/Read/O'Brien. Should one trade out Cox/Read/O'Brien, or trade out a forward and swap Cox/Read/O'Brien into the forward line.

Rowsus, could you please remind us of what you see as a sensible structure to target as we look to complete our teams? For example, which bench players should we be looking to have as DPPs, and playing/not playing (ie, floating donuts)?

It's something I've been giving a little thought to as my team nears completion. I am quite unlucky to have a R-F or D-F loop, but the others look quite achievable.

I expect that the upcoming bye rounds and injuries/omissions might distract us from the longer-term plan for the next few weeks, but it could also be a heavy trading period, so I thought I would try to keep the long game in mind! :)

Even though Saad is just ahead of Newnes on average, I see more upside in holding Newnes than Saad. Saad will not have much improvement in him from here, as first season players can tend to tire as the season gets longer, while Newnes has been in the system a while, and despite his slow start, he has scored ok after that, when Weller has been in the team to take tagging duties.

If he scores a pair of 70's in the next 2 games he goes up $80k. I don't totally agree with Adrenaline, in that I don't think he needs to play 2 bad games to get dropped. I would think his JS is still very shakey, and I don't think he's a good trade in option from here.

Not many teams can afford to have a dead brick R/F sitting at F8, with no corresponding link in the Ruck line, this far out. I would think anyone wanting to bring him in, would need to trade out Cox/Read/O'Brien, which adds to the reasons why Brooksby isn't a good option.

Thoughts on Paul Duffield?

Not sure why he's so down on his historical average this year, role change or niggles?

Now with MJ injury and lack of defensive options at FRE, he may be worth a punt at around 290K?
