If Kreuzer stays below 500k, Goldy and Kreuz might be a winning combination next season!

Honest thoughts please
Zac Dawson
should be under 200k
he's a bit like Nathan Brown this year
Not the best scoring but has great JS
seriously one to consider next year

Sorry Johnsy but it's a massive no from me.
Brown had the potential to score alright (which he did), not sure if Dawson does at all. Think there will be better options.
Also Dawson's always one stupid act away from a suspension.

Brad Crouch next year, at around 357k (with full 30% discount), will be much like Rich this year. I imagine he will be selected in a similar number of teams (around 30%) as Rich was this year. Let's just hope he finishes the year more expensive than he starts it, which Rich seems unlikely to do. Could be a very good 'stepping stone' player. If not an M8 keeper by season's end, very likely to be the last upgrade, I would think. Definitely watch closely through the NAB.

Has proved to be injury prone already in his short career. But as always, preseason games.

Seems to be a hanfull of dominant rucks that can score 120+ fairly regularly.
Goldy, nicnat, sauce, gawn, martin, maric and maybe Blicavs and sandi?
Picking kreuzer over these blokes would be pretty hard id say.

Very good point BC.

Is anyone thinking they might not start Goldy if he is 700k or above? Maybe the way to go is to pick a set and forget ruckman and then another cheaper option (Maric, Gawn, Kreuzer) that is likely to rise in price so we can upgrade to Goldy when his price drops a bit?

EDIT: If he scores 130 for the rest of the season, he should be around 685k, I think I would be willing to pay that much for Goldy, would you?

Selecting him may come down to if Danger stays or goes!

Ablett, Rocky, Goldy locks.
If pendles come in under 600k he's a lock.
Depending how deep my midfield bats i'd consider a m6 stepping stone/possible keeper like this years Neale/Mitchell to get the team off to a flyer.. although considering i started with just 2 midfielders in the current top 8 i'm a little tentative about that.

I'm not sure that Gawn will fill the "cheaper option likely to rise in price" catagory!
He's currently the 2nd highest averaging Ruck, and has played 8 games, so won't receive any discount.
He looks like being priced at just under $600k next season, and would need to average around 118-120 just to maintain his price!
If he does that, you wouldn't be trading him out anyway!

Maric is averaging 96, and while he can score higher in periods, it is close to his mark, imo.

Kreuzer is averaging 85, and has a very poor injury history. He too will not receive any discount, and will need to score at 94 just to maintain his opening price. That's not that much lower than what you'd reasonable expect from him!

Going on recent seasons, if a player plays all 22 games he needs to score 2,482 to priced at $600k
Pendlebury currently has 1964 points.
To be priced under $600k he can only score 518 points in the last 5 games, at an average of 103.6!!!
Could happen, but seems unlikely! :p

Boy, he'll be expensive, and have that "number 1 Ruck from the previous season curse" to overcome!
I'm prepared to pay the price and think he will break the curse. He is the new Cox in my mind, think he will be in my team for the next 3 to 5 years.

Cheers Row.

Your boys bashed him last week, he don't like the bash and crash stuff. Got up pretty sore at times. Teams would take notice of this, I reckon he's in for a pretty sore 5 weeks ahead so I'm optimistic there's a chance he might just slip under $600k next year which would be pretty good unders if were going to be the improver's of the next couple of years like the media keeps saying. ( I'm convinced as yet)

p.s. Your boys were great last week, Played a very hard, attractive brand of footy. Congrats pal

I would be quite unlikely to start him next year if he is priced at around 130. At that price I think he's far more likely to underperform than outperform, so I'm happy to bet against, and try to pick him up later using a stepping-stone approach, as you mention.

I don't think he will be required as a C option either, as Ablett, Rocky, Selwood, Sloane and others will be cheap. In retrospect, I haven't been happy with anyone I felt I've overpaid (a little) for, and I did it mainly for captain options. Next year I will be more reluctant to do that, and fortunately, I think there will be less need for us to :)
