At the moment these will be in my lineup when season opens

Sam Gray
Crouch
Smith

Tippet
Hunter
O'Meara
Rocky

Nic Nat
Daniel Menzel

These will most likely but maybe not

Duncan
I was wondering whether anyone else had practically picked their 2016 team year. I have assumed a magic number of 5390 and priced every player, then selected a squad with place holder rookie pricing. My fiancée thinks I'm crazy but you can't be crazy if it's about SuperCoach, right????

Either we're all sane or we're all crazy. We can't have a mixture of both. So welcome to the asylum.

Yer I'm guilty of crunching the numbers mate. Squeezed out a 15 premium side using this years MN,
well not really a 15 premium side as I included Yeo, B. Smith, Libba in that 15.

Yeah I'm also guilty of trying to make a team based on the magic number, however I used 5375 so might be slightly off. Ended up with a pretty good looking side, however not getting my hopes up as i expect it to be over the salary once super coach opens in 2016. But anyway, heres a look of what i came up with. Only have about $5K left however can easily get lots of money back by dropping daisy to a rookie.

DEF: Yeo, Malceski, Smith, Scharenberg, Rookie, Rookie (Rookie, Rookie)

Gone for potential in the backline. Yeo will be a very very good player and we saw glimpses of what he is capable of this year, so hopefully next year will be the year. Malceski was down this year, however finished the season in some form and is capable of being a 100+ premium. Smith's year was ruined by his concussions and his performances on return reflected from these, however with a full pre-season and potential midfield time with Dangerfield gone, hopefully he can get back to 90+. Scharenberg was restricted from games this year but is a future gun with incredible intercept marking and disposal efficiency, and should get more games in 2016.

MID: GAJ, Fyfe, Rockliff, Pendlebury, Priddis, T. Mitchell, Liberatore, Freeman (Ahern, Rookie, Rookie)

Gone extremely strong in the midfield, however have also gone for value. GAJ, Rockliff, T. Mitchell, & Liberatore are all underpriced in my opinion for various reasons and are all super premium scorers when at their best. Fyfe is a gun and will go 120+, and despite playing injured most of the year, Pendlebury still managed 116 and is very consistent, as is Priddis. Freeman wants a trade to StKilda where he should get some opportunities and is a past top 10 draft pick, and same with Ahern.

RUC: Goldstein, Leuenberger (Rookie)

Goldstein is a lock and just can't stop scoring monster scores. Leuenberger is a huge risk, however if he does move to a club in free-agency where he will be the number 1 ruck man, then with his scoring history and price savings of being $250-300K cheaper than Martin & Naitanui, I think i will take the risk.

FWD: Gray, Martin, Zorko, D. Thomas, Petracca, Pickett (Rookie, Rookie)

Gray and Martin are premiums that score like midfielders so they are locked as always. Zorko is a risk as Beams and Rockliff were in and out throughout the year, therefore changing Zorko's role, however he dominated in the second half of the year. Thomas has struggled ever since he went to Carlton, however at around $270K, if he could make some quick cash and upgrade to a promo it could be worth it. Petracca and Pickett were both top 5 picks last season that we can pick up at basement price so why not.

Very nice looking team this early in the pre-pre season. It should be interesting to see how much discount they give gaz and libba, and what price they put Scharenburg after playing 2 games (from memory). You better hope that Yeo, gray, martin are still a D/M and F/M. They may screw us all over and make them M.

From memory, Yeo spent a fair bit of time back this year with all of this backline issues that WC had over the season, and Martin spent about half of his time forward. Gray is less likely prospect, his kicked less goals, had less goal assists, had less marks inside 50, as well as more clearances, tackles, contested possessions and inside 50s, all pointing to the fact that he spent more time in the midfield in 2015. I really hope he remains DPP.

Fyfe stated a couple of times last night that he would expect to play forward a bit more next year. Come on SC Gods, you know what to do.

I just hope that The Bont stays a M/F because he is going for a big third year.

i'm looking at plenty of those players as well ;)

usually what happens is you see more of the rookies and you drop out some of the more dubious prospects and upgrade to the ultra prems where you can.

i'd be looking at dropping fyfe / pendles / priddis and playing o'meara / gibbs / sloane and go full value in the mids  (oh and j selwood too)

CD are usually reactive rather than proactive when it comes to handing out the dual positions.

Blicavs and Stef Martin to be a MID/RUC swing set next season? Finally Blicavs useless DPP may be made useful!

Surely Stephan Martin is just pure ruck. He rucked 1 out almost all year. He gets possessions but it's not because he's a midfielder.

Yeah you'd think he will remain ruck, I'm just hoping that they justify Blicavs DPP by adding somebody else who is RUC/MID.

aren't the positions defined on where players get there positions?

there must be a cut off of ruck contests contested to become a RUC and not a MID.

I'd think both objective and subjective analysis would be used to determine the positions. And common sense also I'd think (hope).
