Currently pondering my midfield.
Priddis and Libba or Rocky and Wines. I have the cash to cover the difference in pricing but will I get value for it?
I would go for Rocky and Libba and put the saved cash to good use.
Great suggestion. Libba is ridiculous value and a potential keeper, Rocky is also great value and a genuine captain option.
Barlow/KK vs Montagna/Smith
To be honest it's more just a hypothetical cos i can't bring myself to feel completely sold on all 4 players.
I would take Barlow, Smith and loose change. Montagna is overpriced and can be up and down from year to year. On KK, there are a lot of players to fit back into the Suns side. I personally think it's hard to see Smith and Barlow underperforming their prices.
Wines & NicNat vs Libba & Goldstein
Would have S. Martin as other ruck and Wines/Libba would be M5
The second option looks much better to me, because Libba is so cheap. Wines v Libba looks a no brainer to me (take Libba) although I am currently running with NN as R1 and am highly unlikely to take Goldy at his price.
Thanks for the replies BB and THCLT, how about this one:
For a F4 slot (I'm considering starting with only 3 keeper forwards)
Wells 243K v Lyons 241k v Anderson 223k
Wells for mine as he is the only one that is proven out of the three.
What Ben said. The Roos seem to need what he offers, so it's just a matter of fitness.
I know wells is cheap and has scored ok in the past but is anyone really expecting him to play enough games to increase in value?
I think he was talked up as a cheap option last year as well and only played 2 games.
This is true, and a fair point, although he was much dearer then. He's basically a rookie with much better JS as I see it.
Selwood easily if he looks fit going into round one - Selwood is one of the best SC performers in the comp over the last five years or so, probably only behind Ablett, Pendles and maybe Swan.
An interrupted preseason could weigh on Selwood, although I believe he had one in 2014 as well (so it need not be a dealbreaker). He started 2014 with four scores of 125-160, and ultimately had his best season, at over 120. The Cats imports should help him as well.
