Barlow/KK vs Montagna/Smith

To be honest it's more just a hypothetical cos i can't bring myself to feel completely sold on all 4 players.
Barlow/KK for me. I also like Smith and think he is close to a must have at his price.

Montagna is just too expensive imo. Upgrade target for mine.

All these SC team talk is very tempting....BUT I've to focus on my BBL team (and EPL to a lesser extent). :(

I'll re-join the conversation soon...

Wines & NicNat vs Libba & Goldstein

Would have S. Martin as other ruck and Wines/Libba would be M5

Close call, but with either Wines or Libba occupying M5, I would lean towards the Goldy combo.

Tough one but I would have to say Libba and Goldy. Libba at his price is just too good to refuse for a guy who could average enough to be a keeper mid.

In saying that, I like the Wines and Nic Nat picks as well.

Thanks for the replies BB and THCLT, how about this one:

For a F4 slot (I'm considering starting with only 3 keeper forwards)

Wells 243K v Lyons 241k v Anderson 223k

Wells for mine as he is the only one that is proven out of the three.

I know wells is cheap and has scored ok in the past but is anyone really expecting him to play enough games to increase in value?
I think he was talked up as a cheap option last year as well and only played 2 games.

I would have them in the following order: Lyons>Wells>Anderson...obviously dependent on their showing during the NAB matches and whether they figure in round 1 teams.

FWIW...Lyons is high on my watch list, been sub affected and may get more of a go through the m/f role...will watch him (and the role he plays) closely during the NAB.

greene vs barlow vs motlop vs d smith

greene - if he stays a small forward isnt a option? does johnson take that role and greene replace treloar?
barlow - role seemed to change last year?
motlop - constancy and cant take a tag but with danger and a fit selwood?
d smith - shiel comes back but treloar gone?

Personally I have Toby Greene out of that lot, bit of X factor about him, a player on the improve.

Johnson may be parked around the forward line somewhere to weave his magic.

Barlow, now too slow for the game. Looks out paced to me.

Motlop, very hit and miss.

Devon Smith, maybe, like Shiel but.

Barlow easily for me. I think he had a bit of an off year last year and I believe even the coach may have said that he was being played out of position.

Hoping he gets a lot more midfield minutes which will hopefully get him back to a 100+ average.

Currently pondering my midfield.

Priddis and Libba or Rocky and Wines. I have the cash to cover the difference in pricing but will I get value for it?
I would go for Rocky and Libba and put the saved cash to good use.
Great suggestion. Libba is ridiculous value and a potential keeper, Rocky is also great value and a genuine captain option.

Barlow/KK vs Montagna/Smith

To be honest it's more just a hypothetical cos i can't bring myself to feel completely sold on all 4 players.
I would take Barlow, Smith and loose change. Montagna is overpriced and can be up and down from year to year. On KK, there are a lot of players to fit back into the Suns side. I personally think it's hard to see Smith and Barlow underperforming their prices.

The second option looks much better to me, because Libba is so cheap. Wines v Libba looks a no brainer to me (take Libba) although I am currently running with NN as R1 and am highly unlikely to take Goldy at his price.

What Ben said. The Roos seem to need what he offers, so it's just a matter of fitness.

This is true, and a fair point, although he was much dearer then. He's basically a rookie with much better JS as I see it.

Selwood easily if he looks fit going into round one - Selwood is one of the best SC performers in the comp over the last five years or so, probably only behind Ablett, Pendles and maybe Swan.

An interrupted preseason could weigh on Selwood, although I believe he had one in 2014 as well (so it need not be a dealbreaker). He started 2014 with four scores of 125-160, and ultimately had his best season, at over 120. The Cats imports should help him as well.

Crouch + Brayshaw (mid/fwd) vs Selwood + 115k Fwd Rookie ???

I think Crouch can average 102-106. Brayshaw 95-102.

If you think Brayshaw can average 95-102 then lock him in and throw away the key.

If they are your estimations then you should go with Crouch and Brayshaw as you think they will both be keepers (Crouch at M8 or M9 by season's end)

I agree with your Crouch estimation but I am not so optimistic about Brayshaw. I think he will average 80-85.

Ok, what if I lower that to 93-99. Same view or that changes it for you?
Bont average 102 last year.
Brayshaw would be a fair chance to get near that in his second year.
