Hey Ash,
I'm well, and I hope you are too!

I don't like the Clay Smith option. He might turn out to be a tremendous M9/F7, but he also might go with his history, and score very up and down, or worse still, disappear just as quickly as he arrived.
I'm not in love with Priddis at the moment either, to be honest. I'd be more likely to go Gaff for just over $100k less than Priddis. I can't imagine there will be $100k's difference in their scoring from here.
My first option is, take the 50/60 point hit, play Petracca, and reassess next week.
2nd option Libba to Gaff
3rd option Libba to Priddis
Last option Howard to Smith.
The season is only going to get tougher, with injuries and late outs etc. Dragging those 4 trades and $72k for another week seems like a good idea, so you can decide when you know where Libba is at.
Good luck
Cheers Rowan, very much appreciated, love how you are always the voice of reason.

After some more thoughts and given the current state of play, my perfered option is to hold off trading Liber this week.

But I will see how Danger goes tonight and if he blitzes it again, I think I'll have little optuon but to trade Liber this week. It would have been great to get a look at Pettraca's score before trading Liber, but he plays too late in the round.

Once again Thanks very much for your time and quick response!

Ash

Hi Juzzo,

Dangerfield $730,800 B/E 197
Collins $294,600 B/E -7
Bank $369,300
Price difference $436,200 - $369,300 = $96,900 / 440 = 221 points
For you to get there next week, you need Collins to outscore Dangerfield by 221-197+-7=17 points!
I don't think you should complicate it. Even though you might be paying $25-$30k more than you would next week, unless you are really struggling to complete your team, just go Ablett to Dangerfield this week.
Thanks for your reply Rowsus, I know you are a busy man.

I don't think I explained myself too well.

If I could just trade Ablett to Danger I would this week with one trade, but I don't have the funds. But I do have the funds to trade Ablett to Pendles.

I should mention I traded Danger out of my team in his bye round to bring in 2 defender keepers, Simmo and McVeigh (who is currently in my mids). I have never had Pendles in my team this year.

My situation ATM.
No trades used this week so far. 4 trades left.
$17,500 in the bank

DEF: Shaw, Simmo, Boyd, Rance, Laird, Collins (Lee, Aliir)
MIDS: Hanners, Neale, Selwood, Sloane, Ward, Ablett, Rocky, B Crouch (McVeigh, Mathieson, Trengove)
RUCKS: Gawn, Goldy (Goetz)
FOR: Martin, Montagna, T Lynch, Hall, Barlow, Lids (Phillips, Uber)

2 options this week are:

1. Trade Ablett out for Pendles (or another mid) this would leave me with $700 and 3 trades and Crouch at M8 and no DPP to swing into forwardline.
2. Assess after tonights game, and if Collins makes enough money and Danger drops enough, I could use one trade this week Ablett to C Smith this week which would give me some DPP cover with forward line and take my kitty to $369,300, and next week with one trade could go Collins out, swing McVeigh to defence and bring in Danger to mids. For this to work Collins needs to score ok, and Danger to not go huge.

SC Gold predict Collins to increase $37,100 which would take his price to $331,700
SC Gold predict Danger to decrease $24,200 which would take his price to $715,000

So with my kitty $369,300 + Collins projected price $331,700 = $701,000

So if Danger's price next week gets as low at 701,000 and Collins meets his projected price rise I can trade Danger in with one trade, Collins out Mcveigh to Defence and Danger in.

So, I spose my question was/is what will Collins and Danger have to score tonight (or difference in scores) for me to be able to to that trade next week.

Bit complicated to explain, I hope you get the gist.

Thanks again.

I know I'm going early here Row, but would love an indication of Sam Collins price and BE at the completion of this round if you get a chance.

The injury to Barlow will potentially change my plans for this weekend and next, and Collins price is crucial to this decision.

There has been a thousand or two's variance in the figures this season, but my guess is:

S Collins - $320,600 - B/E 84

It looks like he's about to start losing money.

Cheers Rowsus, exactly what I need.

Will be trading him to Boyd next week.

Now to assess whether it is worth getting Merrett this week (BE 77) or Sloane (BE 139), in relation to the severity of Barlow's injury....

Apologies for not asking at the same time. I completely forgot I would need his figures hahah

For those of us with Collins D7 - there's not much point in trading him out, is there? He seems to have decent JS and has the potential to go big, and if you have a doughnut he's probably going to get you 50 points.

With minimal trades left I'm keeping him as solid cover

No problem. Just got back here after 6 hours of beers, and No.43 with the wife on the balcony.

Barlow - $559,800 - B/E 157

At the moment I'm rocking Brand/Collins at D7/D8, and chose Collins' 58 to replace Laird this week.
It's not strong coverage, but it's better than some have this week! :p

Keeping in mind, the MN really has us guessing this season, so these figures could vary as much as $1-$2,000

Dangerfeiled after tonight - $705,700 - B/E 154
Collins after tonight - $323,200 - B/E 86

Difference $382,500 - $369,300 = $13,200 short.

To be honest, I'm not sure why so many people are in love with the idea of C Smith. He might be an inspired choice, he might disappear as quick as he appeared, and he might cough up 50's and 60's from here. Given his history, he is high priced, and high risk. If you are going to go Ablett out for a cash grab, and create a DPP M/F link, you may as well go Ablett to Silvagni or Markov, by moving Phillips. Up least you maximise the cash you grab from Ablett that way!

I hadn't thought of that.

Hi again Row,

I hate doing this again, but geez these injuries are killing me now. Thought I had Collins --> Boyd, Barlow --> Merrett done for next week if required. However, now with Deledio's injury, that may change things once again.

Would I be able to grab a price for Deledio and Merrett if you get a chance. No real rush as I can't see a way to get Boyd in this week now that McVeigh is locked out anyway.

Cheers.

Hi row

I should of listen to you and not trade in lids. I have a dilemma close to finishing my team however lids is likely to miss a few games possibly the season.

My backline is: shaw, laird, rance, bartel, collins, austin, tippa, simpson

forward line: martin, hall, lids, zorko, wells, joey, silvangi, phillips

I have a few options that I can do this week

A trade out McDonald for docherty and buy Dahlhaus when he returns for lids or a forward player that is less than 527k

B trade out McDonald tippa and trade in a defender worth less than 510k possibly z Williams and trade in Merrett for lids. If I chose this option who is the best defender in your opinion that is less than 510k and will score the most points

Also who do you expect to score the most docherty or Merrett? My goal is league win and I'm equal first with 3 other teams but I'm trying to work out if I should use option a and hope Dahlhaus comes back soon and scores over 100.

Hey Rows,

Getting low on trades now with 7 but still have final premo defender to make.
Plus I have a pretty weak midfield compared to others with no Danger and Cripps and Shiel currently at M7/M8
Just would like your thoughts on Tom McDonald as a POD. Is he playing a different role now? Seems to have returned to form from last year over the last few weeks. Or do I look at Williams or try somehow to get Docherty in?
Also who for? I have Collins and Ruggles at D6/7 atm. One has to go but not sure which one?
As far as midfield goes I guess there is not much I can do until I can perform a luxury trade in finals , if I hold onto my top four league spot.
Cheers

Hey Rowsus, great Ablett replacement write up. I went with Coniglio and it had an immediate pay off :)

With possible LTIs to Lids and Barlow, I'm thinking that there are going to have to be some "risky" forward picks to complete teams. Money isn't an issue. Wells doesn't inspire much confidence either due to his regular injuries, but out of the remaining risky options who do you rate to have a good finish? Looking at options such as:

JJK
NRoo
Gunston
Buddy
Hall
Westhoff
Lynch (Suns)

Dahlhaus would be an ideal replacement, but he's still got a B/E of 190+ and I'd like to see how he performs coming back from a medium grade injury before bringing him in. Happy to consider other options too. Cheers in advance
