Hey a_gups,
as you may have read last week, I prefer Cripps to Gibbs. I think he is still on the up, and has come out of mini-slump, and is playing as well as he ever has.
I wouldn't be too concerned with JPK's draw. He sometimes plays better in tougher games, than easy games. I think he'd by my preference over Cripps, especially as you already have Coniglio! (Well done! :))
Cheers mate, would never have gone Coniglio if I didn't read you Gaz Replacements thread.

My aim is to win my league match up this week so I have next week off, leaving me with enough trades to cover the last 2 weeks. Ideally i'd like to stock up on cash too which should be fine for when I go Lids > Dahlhaus next week. I've narrowed my choices to Cripps (might not be as big as Gibbs but more reliable to go 100+), JPK (ripper form but costs 70k more than Cripps), and maybe an outsider in Toby Greene? Do you think he can realistically score enough in the next 4 weeks to take up a spot at M8 above Cripps and JPK? The GWS draw is just too good to ignore, but I already have Coniglio and Ward too. At 450k, Greene is tantalising.

Thanks a lot, Rowsus. I'm trying to wrangle a top 1k finish and win a couple of leagues, but I reckon the leagues' objective is more likely. QF in my 1st League and EF in my second. I reckon I can make the GF, but the leagues are pretty tight. I do like a POD, so I'll probably grab Coniglio.
Just as a PS, would you have equal confidence, in general to use the VC/C on Coniglio as you would with Sloane?
When you are taking a VC, into a perma-Captain like Dangerfield, you want someone that might give you a surprise 150+.
While that is probably Sloane more than Coniglio, they have both only thrown up 5 scores that would have you thinking "Do I take Dangerfield or not?"

Hi Rowsus,

Supercoach Draft question here: I have managed to have all of Nic Nat, Sandi and Lycett in my squad after some careful selections of the waiver list.

I am going to play Lycett on field foward so I want to know who do you think scores the highest this week out of Sandi & Nic Nat in the derby?
Hi Shaahorn,
Sandi has always been NicNat's kryptonite! I'd back Sandi in that one.

Happy to help.
Greene is a job for psychologists. He can be 120+ or 70. He's a big risk, that could go either way.
I'd way up how much you want that $70k, and choose between Cripps and JPK. I'd probably go JPK.

Hey Row,
Given that I am now 46th, and 289 points off 10th, I'm thinking of a risky move. What do you think of Pendles to Gibbs?

Hey Row,

After a week of no carnage (felt a bit weird tbh) the majority of us now have the Pendles condundrum.

Any advice for someone sitting in my position as to hold or trade?

Thanks mate (and good work this week!) :)

Don't like it but Pendles to Marc Murphy if he returns entices me he's cheap as chips and blues have a easy run, may also favour Gibbs but also Cripps, doch, Simmo ect

Hey bb,
obviously this might hinge on whether Pendlebury plays or not. You are probably getting close to having to shove your chips in, and obviously it has to be a well thought out risk. I'd probably hold, or choose someone else, if Pendlebury gets picked.
B18 asked me about Gibbs 2 weeks ago, and I told him I preferred Cripps to Gibbs. He had appeared to turned a corner, and come out of his little slump. He was certainly racking up the Clearances again, which he wasn't doing in his slump. Since then Gibbs has gone 105 & 112, and Cripps has scored 118 & 124. If you decide to roll the dice, I'd go Cripps over Gibbs.

Hey t.t6, thanks for that.
I think it's obviously as easy as, if he plays hold, if he doesn't you have to take the opportunity to trade. I think I'd go for a POD like Bontempelli, rather than block of a POD against you in the top 1.5 teams.
Good luck, I hope you get there!

Hi Rowsus

What's the thought if in a tight league elimination final this week. Use last two trades to bring in a POD like an Enright + dpp donut (allows Rich to be off field in future games) or Pendles to Bont.

Thanks

hi row

i have a very similar question to the above questions and trying to do well in my league. im doing ok in overall as well and manged to get inside 450. league is my main objective and i lost last week. the likely case is pendles will be out a week and i cant afford to play dunkley as the guy im playing has a decent team. my midfield is danger, hanners, jpk, sloane, neale, selwood, rocky and pendles my options are:
-conglio
- bont
- cripps
- parker

i really like bont and cripps tbh but happy to consider parker or conglio. whats your thoughts on the above options?

I have Parker, so will be interested in Rowsus thoughts on other 3.

Coniglio - GC seemed to be restricting midfield competitors (hence poor score in win), should do well Eagles/Dockers and maybe tougher North game.

Bont - should get the Levi tag this week then two easier games. Do we still rate Levi?

Cripps - should hurt the Lion, Demons tough to score against and then bring on the Dons.

I forgot about Levi. Bont scored around 70 in there last outing and it was a tight match. If I get the Bont I need him to go large this week and as well as the next two. Cripps looks good but Melb with be the toughest opponent.

Hey Row, hope you're well mate. Quick question, your best pick out of the $102 fwds for loopholes or a chance a getting a gig. Cheers in advance

Hi GFB,
it looks like Pendles plays, so that should remove that option.
As to Enright, he sure has been consistent this season, with only 5 sub 90 scores, but I'm not sure you are getting full value for 2 trades there. Enright was averaging 94, before his 4 game hot streak at 128. Rich has averaged 103 in his last 3 matches, so even if they went 85 and 100 from here, is it worth burning your last 2 trades for a 15 point upgrade? I don't think so. Ask yourself this, would you be entertaining these trades 4 weeks ago? Probably not. Look elsewhere, or hold your trades, I reckon.

hi ad,
I think it all becomes moot, as I believe Pendles will play. I will revisit the question if he doesn't.

Hi Row,
In light of recent events, I am considering instead going Collins to Doch and Menadue to Wills (as pendles is playing). This will leave me with 1 trade left and 9.6k to play with. Do you think that this is a good investment, or should I be looking elsewhere to gain ground?

My 2c mate: if you're trying to gain ground you might need more of a POD. Doch has quite a high ownership in the Top 100. He is an excellent scorer, but it will mostly be cancelled out.

That's what Im going to crack into tonight. Will see what Row says and chuck you a message later. I reckon someone like Bach could be an option actually.

Hey bender, I'm good, and I hope you are too.
There are 23 $102,400 Rookies on the list. Most would need an upgrade to play this season, so it looks unlikely too many will get a game from here.
The best loopholing teams for the remainder of the season, and their $102k Rookies are:

Freo: 9, 4, 9: Nyhuis (Def)
Ess: 7, 9, 3: Wallis (Mid)
WB: 1, 9, 9: Goetz (Ruck)
GC: 7, 5, 5: Loersch (R/F)
Geel: 8, 8, 2: Parsons (Mid)
Port: 6, 6, 5: Hewett (D/M), Houston (Fwd)

Good luck
