Hi Row,
In light of recent events, I am considering instead going Collins to Doch and Menadue to Wills (as pendles is playing). This will leave me with 1 trade left and 9.6k to play with. Do you think that this is a good investment, or should I be looking elsewhere to gain ground?
My 2c mate: if you're trying to gain ground you might need more of a POD. Doch has quite a high ownership in the Top 100. He is an excellent scorer, but it will mostly be cancelled out.
That's what Im going to crack into tonight. Will see what Row says and chuck you a message later. I reckon someone like Bach could be an option actually.
Hi bb,
t.t6 is spot on. With the amount of ground you are trying to make, you are unlikely to achieve it by closing a POD against you. You would be far better served creating another POD, and hoping a popular Prem you don't own fails.

Yeah, I think that's a fair point. I think I have to back Doch to fail.

Im thinking now
Collins to Bach
Menadue to Wills

And with my last trade, Cox to Dahl for the last 2 weeks. Is Bach set for a fast finish, or was last week an aberration?

Hey Rowsus, hope all is well. Congrats on the big score last week.

Just a quick question. Im wondering how close Petracca will need to score to Dahlhaus for me to reach him next week. I have $23.4K remaining assuming i get Wells this week. Thanks in advance

Hey AiW, thanks for that.
Petracca $372,300 B/E 91
Dahlhaus $388,100 B/E 86
$388,100 - $372,300 = $15,800
$23,400 - $15,800 = $7,600
$7,600 / 440 = 17.3
17.3 + 86 - 91 = 12.3
Petracca needs to get within 12 of Dahlhaus for you to achieve your trade.

Hi Rowsus,

I've managed to avoid the Delidio Disaster and my team is as follows

D: Docherty, Simpson, Shaw, Bartel, Rance, Laird (Collins, Williams)
M: Danger, Pendles, Hanners, Selwood, Sloane, Neale, Priddis, Gray (Jansen, Trengove, Macpherson)
R: Gawn, Goldy (Loersch)
F: Dusty, Zerrett, Zorko, Gunston, Monty, Wells (Petracca, Phillips)

Pendles being named presents a problem....because I have 5 trades left and a full team named. I'm not sure what trade/s to do. Assuming he's not a late out, I've ruminated on some possibles:

Bartel to JJ (will JJ outscore Bartel in the last two games....worth a trade to mitigate Bartel's scoring volatility?)
Pendles to Parker/Bont (will an injured pendles limp home the last two games in the fwd line)
Petracca to Dahlhaus (it will force me to "waste" another trade on Trengove to a FD to get the most coverage out of Dahlhaus)

Thoughts?

Hi lmcjb,
keep in mind, just because you have trades, doesn't mean you have to use them!
I like the Bartel to JJ idea.
If Pendles is a late out, then going to Parker seems like an ok idea.
Petracca to Dahlhaus looks good too. I wouldn't be too concerned about wasting the trade to get a FD, it seems like a very sensible idea.
I'd probably prioritise that last one first, and set up a loophole for this week.

Who knows with Defs?! 75 one week, 110 the next!
The good thing is, he's in only 2.4% of teams, and has some history!

Hey Btj,
I think you should hold. I can't see any great improvement you can make, and at least the trade gives you cover if one of your Prems finishes the season early.

Hi Rowsus,
I have a very important cash league match this week and require your advice on how to win it!
Going on last weeks scores i beat my opponent by 200 but not sure if that will be the same this week

the PODs on field as of last week are
me: DEF: Simpson Laird McVeigh
MID: Priddis, Wines, Rockliff, Neale
RUC: Mumford
FWD: Hall, Montagna

VS

DEF: Johanissen, Rance, Williams
MID: Sloane, JPK, Parker, Gray
RUC: Goldstein
Fwd: Wells, Petracca

So with 2 trades left and 187k the options i have considered are:
McVeigh to Rance and Wines to Bontempelli

or could loophole Pendlebury off the bench wait and see what he gets, and if he underperforms trade petracca to bontempelli- but risky because then I'm stuck if pendlebury scores well.

I think the main areas that i could lose points are the mcveigh/rance difference based on form and maybe Wines because he has not had a high ceiling at all this year

What are you thoughts on what i should do? Thanks!

sandilands out and tippett in makes me a bit more confident in mumford v goldy
leaning towards either trading both wines and priddis out to JPK and bont
or loophole wines, if he scores poorly trade petracca to bont

but then again mcveigh v Rance could be a concern?

Hey Rowsus,

I have an SC draft question. I've limped to the final of the SCS draft league after being hit with J.Macrae injury and M.Murphy still not back after being carried for many weeks. I've had some success with picking up random picks like M.Brown & D.Talia and your genius suggestion of Touk Touk (wish I'd risked it for my classic side too!) for some big scores to carry me through.

I've had to search the waiver wire to find myself an M7 after playing D.Thomas there last week. I've had enough of Thomas so who's going to score the most out of:
B.Acres (3 round average of 103) vs Blues; R.Wills vs GC; S.Selwood vs Lions; C.Smith v Dons or M.Dea vs Doggies.

Thought you've probably been taking it little bit too easy in recent weeks as we've all run out of trades, but here's one to keep you honest : p

Cheers

Hi lakb24,
you not only hold a predicted point advantage over him, and possibly a trade advantage over him, but you also have a draw advantage over him. Currently 5 of his 10 POD's against you play in the first 3 games, which should give you some idea of how you are tracking. I know McVeigh to Rance closes off a POD, and there might be as much as 50-60 difference in their scoring this week, but we can't be sure which way that difference will fall!
Priddis certainly looks like a 95-105 prospect, given his history against Hawthorn, so you could either loophole him, or trade him. Wines to Bont looks like a fair move, but I'd be cautious with JPK. He can have a big deviation in his scores, too.
It's unfortunate that you need to decide on McVeigh/Rance early on. It would be good to know how you are travelling before pulling that pin. I'd be more on the side of letting it go, and having a trade for next week, or to be used somehow this week, if his early POD's have you up against the wall. Loophole Priddis, and go Wines to Bont.
Good luck.

Hey B18,
I think I'd go with Acres (v Rich, not Carl).
Good luck in the final! :)

Hey Rowsus

Got my match up in a money league this week, which is the only league i care about now. Im looking at trading out Blicavs, but my question is whether I should do it this week or next? Considering they're playing Brisbane at the Gabba and Blicavs scored 117 on them earlier this year. But he also hasn't scored 98+ since rd 13.

If i do trade him this week, I'm considering Nic Nat, Mumford or Goldy. My opponent has Goldy so we cancel each other out there, which isn't the worst option if he's likely to outscore the other two. Any thoughts on if I should hold Blicavs this week, or bring in one of those 3? Holding would be ideal as it means I have 2 trades left in my grand final (but I've obviously got to win this week first!)

Hey a_gups,
a lot depends on how your differences match up against your opponents differences.
Without knowing those, I'd suggest if it looks like you have some sort of advantage, I'd definitely trade Blicavs to Goldy this week. Goldy has been a bit patchy since his bye, but Blitz has been really patchy since Round 5.
Good luck

Cheers Rowsus, assuming I don't have an advantage and need to make up points by going unique in the ruck against my opponent, would you be leaning towards Nic Nat or Mumford? Also keeping one eye on next week's grand final. The only issue with Nic Nat is that he plays the first game, so I can't wait and assess if I need to make up the points (but let's ignore that fact for now)

Hey Rowsus

Hope you are well.

I have the Wingard dilemma to deal with this week and I am agonising short of a straight swap to Dahlhaus ($300). Motlop looks the clear standout option of forwards $399,700 and under but I'm wondering whether you have any left-field suggestions in my price range? I was thinking Membrey could be a decent shout too.

Thanks

Hey MrM,
Motlop does look the obvious candidate, though he can be a bit flakey. I guess anybody in that price range can be a bit flakey. It's a pity the Bullies don't throw up any solid candidates, as their draw looks the best in the last 2 games. Lobb from GWS might be worth some consideration, as could your Membrey suggestion. Even 2 metre Peter is a (very) outside chance of doing well the last 2 games.
Motlop looks the safer pick, and Lobb the wildcard pick.
Good luck.
