These coach choice stats are v interesting, although still a couple of weeks from the real deal. Making some of my team seem quite PODish overall (although probably not relative to the punters on this site) which I'm loving. Eg.no Hanners, NRoo, Petracca, Treloar

Love your imagination and creativity in the names...:)
Reminds me of Rex Hunt calling names. By the time I puzzled who he was talking about, the game would be finished. Great work PC.

If it's who I think it is, the problem may be that you're only thinking of SC relevant players. IMO he's the only player on the list who definitely shouldn't be. He may be a free man, but he's not free from hamstring problems.
Blimey. Shows my blinkers are well and truly on.

I will monitor some of these breakout contenders or pods.

(Not to steal PC's thunder) But as of 4/3/2017

Heeney 28.4%
Petracca 13.0%
Caddy 12.2%
Mills 10.1%
Titch 9.8%
Vince 9.3%
Billings 3.4%
Higgins 2.9%
Salem 1.9%
Lloyd 1.8%
5/3/2017

Nank 9.7%
Tuohy 11.1%
Post JLT2 & after the Heeney news 7/3/2017

Heeney 21.3%
Nank 18.1%
Tuohy 14.5%
Petracca 14.5%
Caddy 12.4%
Mills 11.3%
Titch 9.6%
Vince 9.2%
Billings 5.7%
Higgins 3.1%
Salem 1.9%
Lloyd 2.3%

As expected Nank, Tuohy increase and Heeney decreases. Interesting to see where more of the Heeney numbers will go as more people update their sides.

Very interesting that the top 10 % owned currently there are

4 premos (Fyfe, Danger, Dahlhaus, Gawn)
4 mid pricers - (JOM, Swallow, Roughy, Sandi)
2 rookies (SPP, Hibberd)

S00000 there are only 2 rookies and 1 that might not play - in the top 10! I may be wrong but this seems really different to previous years where everyone has the rookie locks. It is going to be an interesting season methinks! Surely a few other rookies like Stewart and Hampton will be top 10 in ownership when R 1 starts.

Bloody hell Steele jumped up to 20.8%. Reminds me a lot of when I didn't start Bont a few years back.

Nank up slightly to 26.1%, probably won't reach 30%.

Where is Rough at now? I know some are swapping out Rough for Steele, rightly or wrongly.

I had Steele in well before that last JLT game, and said to THCLT "I hope he doesn't play too well this week".

Bumping PC's wonderful work last year of the most popular selections
http://www.supercoachscores.com/threads/2837-SC-Gold-Most-Popular-Players

Coaches Award Nominations
ROUND ONE IS HERE! - 26/3/16

Def
1 Brown M (Ess) - 57%
2 Weitering - 52%
3 AMT - 47%
4 Shaw - 39%
5 Dea - 37%
6 Adams - 37%
7 Hartley - 23%
8 Rich - 18%
9 Laird - 15%
10 Rance - 15%

Rookies are the name of the game now! Over 50% of players owning Brown (Ess) and that expensive first year Blues player... AMT very popular, as well as Adams and Dea - interestingly, even though Hartley wasn't named, 23% kept him - I expect that could be either lack of funds or lack of time. SCS favourite Laird into the top 10 at 15%, while SCS discussion point Shaw in 39% of teams - man that is going to hurt if he gets on a roll early...

Mid
1 Danger - 53%
2 Libba - 53%
3 Mills - 49%
4 Ablett - 45%
5 Fyfe - 41%
6 Davis - 38%
7 Rocky - 33%
8 Oliver - 26%
9 Pendles - 24%
10 Gresham - 21%

Mids as you would expect with the lack of choice in the rookies - plenty choosing the one of the big 5, and Libba still popular. Starting team mids this year will be very same same I feel.

Ruc
1 OldGrimey - 32%
2 Goldy - 30%
3 Gawn - 26%
4 Cox M - 23%
5 NicNat - 20%
6 Martin - 13%
7 Lobbe - 13%
8 Blicavs - 11%
9 Currie - 10%
10 Smith - 9%

If the mids are same same, the rucks are not. FEAR THE BEARD moves to third most popular (BB you are a trendsetter), Cox flops to 4th (sorry, couldn't resist). No ruck in more than a third of teams, in fact only 2 premium choices in more than a quarter of teams. As every year, rucks will make and break.

Fwd
1 Kerridge - 67%
2 WellStep? - 60%
3 Chopsticks - 40%
4 Menadue - 39%
5 Barlow - 37%
6 PetRocka - 36%
7 BenKen - 34%
8 Buddy - 22%
9 Hall - 21%
10 De Goey - 18%

It's interesting Libba at 53% last year. I know coaches who did really well without him, others that started him and thought he was a success and others who kept him too long and got punished with him.

Many traded him in early after a hot start but missed 2 of the only 5 times he scored 100.

Ended up averaging 90 when many me included thought he would push over 100. Ended up probably not mattering if you started him or not.

Then this year we have JOM at 50%, me included. I wonder if we will look back and see a repeat.

Knee injuries are bad m'kay

Seriously though, would we see JOM ownership as high as it is if we had 3 or 4 viable mid rookies to start on field?

If you stayed disciplined and traded Libba out at his bye I think he was a pretty successful pick. Averaged 99 til his bye and made 150k in a year without many viable mid rookies.

If JOM can do the same, I'll be pretty happy! We similarly have a lack of mid rookies this year too.

I wish I had've done that, as originally planned, ended up holding, thought I had planned my last few trades well then I think Libba and 3 others went down in the same week (possibly 2) causing mayhem... Will be trying to be vigilant this year and sticking to my plan with JOM and other mid-pricers... Once I work out what that is...

It would still be high, but not as high, say maybe 30%. He is a fairly well known by the masses to be an extremely talented player and is relatively cheap. The lack of other rookies adds the extra 15% IMO.

Hell I even have him at this point as I checked my rule book and there was no such "Don't pick a player who has missed two years with completely stuffed up knees" rule in there. I suppose I'll add it soon, just not sure if I'll add it in the next two weeks or during the season if/when he burns us.
