Is anyone considering bringing in McNeice over EVW this week? $21.5k cheaper and therefore likely to make more money based on current scoring trends, does either present better job security than the other?

Not that they are like for like, but Ambrose and Brown out for extended periods can only help McNeice. There does seem to be a bit of a revolving door in the team at the moment. I'm thinking I might take the risk on him, mainly on what I've seen him do. Think he'll be a good player.

Depends when you plan to trade them out. EVW has R12 bye which is helpful for my team.

That would be really good too as he has a great bye! Although Swallow and Thomas both had good games in the 2s too so not sure on his JS. If Scott declared that he'd play the kids like Ross did last year, I'd be a lot more convinced on his JS.
Yeah his JS probably isn't great but his form in the VFL has been good. Definitely one for the watch list if he plays.

Back to your point about a double downgrade being imperative this week - does it depend a bit on what rookies you already have? Eg. I was lucky enough to grab Newman & Williamson, I have 4 non-playing rookies - Hibberd, Strndica, Barrett, Eddy.

I'm also facing a donut with Nank in the rucks, but I'm starting to consider taking the donut because I don't like any ruck options.

I've seen a few comments on not sure who to trade first out of Hampton/Otten & Marchbank, this might help

Season-low 14 CBA's for Hampton on the weekend + plus 58% of game up forward = time to go. #SuperCoach

Parfitt to Parsons but not conivnced I should do Hampton to EVW as I can't see him scoring well and nor am I convinced on his job security. Already have Eddy and Barrett not playing and Jarman as a DPP floating donut.

If you have a spare 30 mins... I'd recommend planning the next 6-7 rounds. I did this yesterday and feel more confident about my season now. This is one scenario I did where I recruited some I'm unlikely to go for and kept hold of some rookies that i probably won't (can't reveal everything!), as an example.

30 mins?!

I've already used 3 hours on this weeks trades, and you want me to plan 6 weeks trades in 30 mins?! :p

Mountford is a chance to get a game for North - would give us one on the bubble next week.

The biggest problem with Mountford is, apart from dodgy JS, that he looks like a 40/game player, and won't make enough cash quickly enough to warrant trading in.

I agree with you Rowan - he's play a lot of stopping and some run-with roles in the VFL (albeit quite well) both of which are not conducive to scoring highly. However when he's given some freedom he is very much a 60-70 rookie. The bigger question is his JS which at this point is not great.

EVW is probably not as important for you if you already got Williamson, so getting both Black and Parsons might work better for you. I hate a donut so I'll reluctantly pass up EVW for saving a donut if Cameron doesn't get named.

Good calls.

He did score a DT ton in the VFL on the weekend so I think if he does get a bit of freedom or if he's not a full time stopper, he could score well. JS is a big issue though but it's not like we have a whole lot of options in the mids aside from Myers. Mutimer didn't really inspire a lot of confidence and he got injured too.

I wouldn't mind having a ~50 mid rookie with a R12 bye just to provide a downgrade option as long as he had JS. Just hide him away on the bench for the year.

Is trading Greene - Stefan a waste of a trade? Thinking about trading Greene instead of Parfitt as it give me heaps of extra cash for next weeks upgrades. Will likely trade Parfitt for EVW if I decide to trade Greene. Can then trade Otten for Danger next week

So essentially it is Green/Parfitt for Stefan/EVW and saving my cash or Parfitt/Otten for Stefan/EVW and using my cash

Greene is back next week or so, Parfitt we might not see again for the season.

Sorry I forgot to add that I will trade Parfitt for EVW, that would mean Greene and Parfitt for Stefan and EVW. Next week I can get Danger for otten
