G'day Rowsus (and others),
I'm sure this has probably been asked before over the years, but I would love your thoughts on team finalization, specifically the issue of potentially having more than 22 'keepers'.
I've currently got about $130k in the bank, 7 trades left, and 22 'keepers', although I'm sure a number would be considered unworthy of that status:
Docherty, Laird, Adams, Hibberd, Tuohy, Johannisen (Scharenberg, Ryan)
Dangerfield, T. Mitchell, Selwood, Bontempelli, Beams, Hannebery, Fyfe, Cripps (Barrett, Bolton, Cousins)
Grundy, Witts (Strnadica)
Yeo, Heeney, Macrae, Dahlhaus, Greene, Nankervis (Greenwood, Parsons)
I'm pretty happy with the FWD line, not many options I'd consider swapping any of those guys for.
I was keen on bringing in Lloyd at only $412k, which I can easily afford via Barrett, but this would mean having a 9th keeper in my MID line (from which Lloyd could swing DPP with Adams in DEF).
I suppose the question comes down to the following:
(a) upgrade Barrett to Lloyd (leaving 9th MID keeper on bench)
(b) upgrade weaker DEF keeper to Lloyd (Johannisen, Tuohy, etc.) and stick with 22 'keepers'
(c) ignore Lloyd and use cash to upgrade weaker MID keeper (i.e.: Fyfe, Cripps, etc.) to stronger 115+ MID keeper
Obviously this is a specific example, underlying the overarching question of:
Is it better to strengthen your 22nd keeper or add a 23rd keeper for backup?
Thanks in advance. Open to suggestions from all SCS users.
