Looks like another embarrassing Brownlow Count Night coming up for the AFL this year, regarding Fyfe.

One possible solution could be that 3 votes are taken off a player's Brownlow votes for each week they are suspended during the year.
The Best and FAIREST, who doesn't get suspended, will have the advantage to win.

It's an award night,
that in itself is embarrassing.
Chuck city, just like the Oscars, Academy Awards, Logies, Cricketer of the year.
I work as hard and am dedicated just as much as any sportsperson or actor, I don't have, or need a reward system for me to further my "brand" and gain popularity and "respect" amongst my peers, it makes me sick.
The Brownlow IMO is overrated and anyone you talk to knows who the "best" and "fairest" players are, without a stupid prize night.
The Premiership Cup is enough prize in itself.

Why can't the AFL site configure its game times to be local to the reader? Living in the damn dark ages.

aha - so it doesn't, right, but SC site does... Is that why I am always messing up start times? Or is it I'm poorly focused and organised , I wonder?

A season-low 5 HTA's for Gawn yesterday kept his #SuperCoach score well below what we expected.

Yep they certainly did. I would be interested to see how many of his hit outs were sharked by Collingwood players cos I reckon there were a few!

There was one spot he kept hitting it to, kinda like 7 or 8 o’clock that kept getting picked off. It was very clear the Collingwood players were expecting it to go there.

He certainly is the dominant hit out ruckmen so I expect the tapes were out most of the week , you are right he does have his preferred spots to hit , so the analytical work was first class.

Not sure Melbourne planned too well for De Goey to start mids and for our rotating FF to take Jetta to the goal square.

Most I have seen Cox up the ground so our planning was top notch.

Pendles seemed to mind Jones/Oliver then sat back to stop the kamikaze kicks out of defence and to remind the poor kickers to handball.

Nice to see BBQ , Tay Tay & Sidey lead by example

dare to believe

Thanks mate! Do you have his season averages for both? I don’t know where to find those stats.
You can find Hitouts to Advantage Stats on the AFL Website in the AFL Stats Pro section.

M Gawn:
2018:
Hitouts to Advantage: 195
Hitouts: 567
Hitouts to Advantage Rate: 34.39%

Only the 3rd time since 2015 that M Gawn has had 5 or less Hitouts to Advantage.

It's amazing how much a big forward clunking marks with some confidence can straighten an entire team up...

For ages Collingwood have had too many mids and small forwards - trying to get a winning score out of Elliot, WHE and rotating mids was never really going to work but with the big man up and about yesterday and Pendles with a cool head down back they looked a miles better team.

cheers mate

the big Cox is improving and developing with every game, and has a willingness to learn. Certainly gives a 100%, a taste of what he can do, know to do it consistently.

I actually hope the 2 egos in Elliott and Fas stay out of the team, much prefer the way we rotate Stephenson/WHE/De Goey/Treloar/Thomas.

More than happy to let Pendles take a back seat and sit back directing traffic and let the other leaders stand up.

Geez if De Goey could only kick accurately, clubs will be lining up to pay him a million a season.

Was very impressed yesterday with the tackling, pressure, chase, willingness to run and work, and handball to angles instead of blazing away.

great win

De Goey on the burst had 2 forward 50 entries inside the first 2 minutes yesterday. Both were floating, wobbly kicks with awkward spin - calling them drop punts would be generous, but they both found their targets on the lead. The commentators launched into praise about how good he had started but half way through a sentence got stuck looking for adjectives to describe the actual kicks... they were effective but pretty awful :p

Good footy brain and plenty of endeavour but as you said, the skills need an intensive or two. Ditto Treloar.

I think Bucks has told a lot of the blokes not to kick, unless they have too, hence the handball game of recent weeks.

De Goey would have been lucky if even 50% of his kicks hit a target, Treloar and Adams should only kick 20 metres no more.

Handball handball handball and give the ball to Pendles and Wells

Kick-ins at Melbourne this season - Vince 43, Lewis 34, Salem 16, Lever 13 and Hibberd a lowly 5th with just 11 (3 to himself).
