Ryan vs Brander

Would become F7/8, one probably gives reasonable back up and makes a few dollars more, the other may not even play half the remaining games but serves as a useful link to Sicily...

I think it depends on what your cover is like elsewhere. I've gone Brander because it means I can use D7 (Austin currently but might become Hurley if he drops some more) to cover the forwards via Sicily and can swing M/Fs around as well if I need to. I save some extra dollars this week which means I can get Dusty instead of Rockliff which looks very nice on paper.

If you're good for cash though Ryan has more chance of getting usable scores this week and next (could throw out a 40 but also a 100) which could mean real points to your total.

For me - Brander for now
- Brander is in this week definitely at a time when a team may be short on players in the byes
- In my team would allow me to move either Siciliy or Tmac to cover a forward or backline hole come the end of the season
- Is ~$50k cheaper

But Ryan does have appeal as an F7 who can generate some reasonable scoring capacity and also raise some cash for deep in the season if needed to trade him for cover

The thing to weigh up with Rookie you're downgrading to at this stage of the season is do you want them as a cash cow or potential bench cover?

Most are 2 or 3 upgrades away from a completed team, so I would say that the latter is probably more relevant, unless you're well endowed with trades and are looking to use them as cash cow towards a 'Premium' bench type cover.

Now is usually the time where I place particular focus on getting all the pieces of my team in their 'correct' place to ensure that I maximise on any potential DPP status to increase my coverage. As such, the Rookies I select now MUST have a purpose and place for my team. I'm no longer prioritising their potential 'on-field' scores, rather I'm placing more of an emphasis on the flexibility which they will bring for my team.

Good points.

My question then becomes is brander the best option given he’s not a basement price?

Brander for the DEF/FWD link.
True I do have sicily in fwds atm but have stuff all def bench cover (Ridley/Murphy/Duman)
I’m a doggie supporter I think Smiths place looks okay in the side but no idea about this brander bloke scoring potential + JS..

I have been JJK all week, and now I am looking at wingard all of a sudden..
JJK v Wingard
I feel both are 50/50 to go below 85 which is a fail and 70/30 to go below 90 which is a partial fail. However, if I was going to roll the dice on one, I would probably go Wingard because IF he stays in that pure mid role, he does have the potential to score very well from here. JJK will probably be up and down, and could struggle again when Darling comes back.

Brander is in for Darling so could make way when Darling is back in 5 or so weeks.

He could or could surpass Waterman in the pecking order, time will tell but at least there's a secondary purpose to him to be useful.

NicNat has the least downside as he is already sharing while Carlton might decide Kreuzer needs some help. NicNat also has the most upside as his time on ground has been low and if West Coast decide to increase it he could go nuts.

I went for McGovern after a Mcg v Hurn v Yeo debate with myself, I think he is scoring at about the expected level and that both Hurn & Yeo are slightly above and hence in my opinion likely to have a slightly lower scoring second half of the season with McG, hopefully for me anyway, maintaining his level.
