Thoughts please

Gaff - career best season but vulnerable to a tag in the past and with a tag from Sydney a possibility this week. Relatively unique
Curnow - pretty consistent season and Cripps gets the attention. unique
Treloar - obviously wait a week, but quite consistent this season
Dangerfield - who is a bit more expensive and spending plenty of time up forward. Bye to come
Macrae - highest scorer, but a price of 700k & break even of 200+. Wait a week or two

From avg perspective hereon out :

Danger (definitely do not see 130 danger in this season) > Macrae (hard to say since he's exploded and theres definitely an uncertainty factor to his scoring) > Treloar > Curnow / Gaff

Also do need to consider some other variables such as a captain premium and also whether or not they've had their byes. I think 700k is a huge overs for macrae right now but he's definitely looking great and could very well overtake danger too, especially with a game in hand. Curnow / Gaff also have a game in hand over Treloar but i believe Treloar is a more established entity in the 110 realm.

Would anyone take Gray over Westhoff? Why?

I like him but the general consensus seems to be the Hoff. Hoff 5/11 games below 90. Gray 2/10.

i am trading in tmacdonald next week however i am not sure if i should trade in simo or westoff as my last forward or defence spot. i could transfer tmac to either the forward line or the backline. i currently have sicily in my team and i am not concerned about the dpp flexibility.

the question is simpson vs westhoff?

the question is do you think macrae will return to hitting the 160+ scores. i would love to hear rowsus and everyone thoughts regarding macrae potential moving forward. i think treloar is a safe bet. collingwood have a nice run coming up and he should be safe for 110 plus moving forward.

Treloar does look in good touch and OK value at ~$550k. He's not pulling in many scores at that 125+ level that you want from a captain.
Perhaps it does take a few 160 games to maintain a 130 average in Macrae's case. Nice POD though if maintains his superior average.

Should I get rid of Petracca or Fritsch? One of them might have to stay at F6. :(
Get rid of Fristch if you had to choose to get rid one one.

Not sure about you but when i had petracca and he scored 85 i would be like meh but when fristch scored 85 i'll be ecstatic :p

Think you will find Fritsch has outscored Petracca consistently since his role change, keep Fritsch in my view and thats after ignoring Petracca's two poor scores when his dog bit his finger.

Think Steuby's reaction is due to what we all paid for both, expectations are lower for Fritsch.

Held off Macrae as he was running into several contested sides that makes the best midfielder accountable. Port a bit iffy, took a half of Tom Mitchell dominance before they quelled him and didnt use Ebert. North's Jacobs coming up. What I do like is he hasn't posted a bad score.

Who would be the better option - Hurn or Simmo? Not sure if Simmo is a risk to drop off given Carlton's trajectory.

Simpson by a long way in my view. I regard him as an obvious lock, whereas I see Hurn as an almost-premium. Have a look at Rowsus' thread for more stats on Hurn either way.

I largely agree with others' comments. In order for me:

- Danger - for all the usual reasons. Not playing his best role and still averaging 114.
- Macrae - probably overpriced by a fair bit but has a higher ceiling than most of the others, probably for both one game and a run of them. Probably a good pick only if you have plenty of cash, and too rich for me.
- Treloar - someone I plan to bring in. Solid, durable 110 type player at a fair price.
- Curnow and Gaff - no overly strong view, except in that they're not as established as the others. Would bet both will average less in the second half of the year. My guess is you potentially wouldn't consider either as seriously if they still had their byes to come.

Have you thought about Bont?

Who to trade first
Fritsch v Guelfi?

Keep in mind both will be going in the next 2-3 weeks, solely cash grabs now

Fritsch has averaged low 90’s for a large stretch of games since he was switched to a more SC friendly role, something we have yet to witnessed from Petracca over a more exposed period of time.

From my ‘eye test’, Fritsch just looks to be your typical no-fuss footballer who just does everything and does it well. Watching Petracca is ‘edge on the seat’ stuff at times, waiting for that something extraordinary which most often than not doesn’t eventuate. I feel that the problem with Petracca is that he tries too hard to be THAT player which the scribes wants him to be, and maybe not what his team needs him to be. I think he could do much worst than to a leaf out of Fritsch’s book and just concentrate on doing the stu*** which he knows and do them to the best of his ability.

Thanks Darkie. I am not sure what the appeal of the Bont is. Macrae has clearly surpassed him as a SC scorer and he has been too volatile a scorer for my liking given they've relied upon him up forward. For me, Treloar is a far more consistent scorer for a similar price.

Interesting how the Dangerfield's, Martin's, Gray's and Bont's get pushed up forward for their teams, reducing their scoring power from a fantasy perspective.
