Hurn and Treloar.

As good as West Coast have been I can't imagine they just keep winning for the rest of the year and would expect a slight drop off. So I think Gaff is overpriced and Hurn's price might still see him present some value.
I like all 3 but probably the first one. I prefer Treloar over Gaff personally, he just seems like a higher averaging player. Collingwood have a pretty good finish to the year iirc.

I’ll be watching Hurley closely when he returns. With our new gameplan, it looks like the days of over possessing the footy are gone which will probably affect his numbers going forward.
Cheers boys. It was Hurn and Treloar that I was leaning towards plus that will likely be the cheapest combo too. Like the fact Hurn and Treloar are POD's too, at least for the moment.

Cheers Darkie! Yeah durability is an important factor I hadn’t considered. My main durability concerns would be Gawn and Rocky but as we know LTI’s can strike the most durable of players (Pendles and JPK last year) so a bit of luck goes a long way sometimes!

I’m leaning towards leaving myself with 2 but that may change when Billings starts dominating
That's an interesting point re Gawn ... if you don't have a very reliable R3 then Gawn going down when you're out of trades could be a disaster. Another element is that trades can be more valuable when used together (one up, one down, etc), so limiting yourself to two may leave a "stranded" trade or cash at some point if you have to use your second last on an LTI in a month's time, for example. If you're not down to your last one until very late, the chances of this are reduced.

In a rough spot with Howe going down, so this trade comes a week before their bye rather than the week after :(

Yeo vs Sicily vs Simpson
My gut has them in that order, thoughts?

**If Murphy miraculously gets into the 22 then I can roll with my original plan and simply field 3 def rookies this round :\

I like Sicily over Yeo but only just. Both are risks to miss games though, one through suspension and the other injuries, if that sways you at all towards Simmo.

Yeah it’s easy to forget how injury prone some players are. I’ll be running Gawn/NicNat so have reshuffled my trade plans to keep McInerney at R3 who will hopefully provide cover for the rest of the year. He’d have to be a chance to get dropped at some stage though but i think it’s better to have some cover than none at all.

Great point about the stranded trade. How many times do we get an injury and are forced to compromise on who we bring in because we have no cash on hand and the injured player’s value has dropped to a point you can only replace them with a mid pricer. I’m hoping it doesn’t get to that and I’ll have the luxury of making some sideways trades late :p

Loooks like Murphy was named but I’d probably go with the order you went with.

Rice with no confidence at all. Ridley probably has good short term JS though so should see you through the byes if that’s a factor.

For my final upgrades in defence and midfield which I'll be doing over the byes in round 13 and 14, which combo is best?

Hurn and Treloar, Hurley and Gaff or Hurn and Gaff?
In prior years Gaff used to receive the tag as it is so effective on him, would be mindful of this. Prefer for this price mids who win plenty of contested ball and can handle some heat when it comes.

Hope not the case given I brought Hurley in couple of weeks before injury.

Thanks mate, looks like Rice was the right call as things stand, so I'm happy I went that way :)

Final FWD upgrade (unless I have the chance for some luxury trades later in the year), already have McLean, Heeney, Gray Franklin and D. Smith...

Westhoff vs. Menegola vs. Hogan ?

Gray v Westhoff v Boak
It's a tough one but in terms of pure scoring potential i would say that's the order. We know Gray can smash out some big scores and kick a bag of goals. Hoff has been more of a 140 or 80 type player in the past but more consistent this season. If you need a POD then Boak only in 4% of teams is good choice at his price along with Mundy.
