I probably prefer locking in a side on Wednesday or earlier if possible.... just to be safe. The premise is that we all start with the same side, I don’t think it’s a big issue if there’s a surprise rookie non selection and we all end up starting them. Just my own thoughts though!

If we leave it too late, someone might inevitably accidentally start a different team.
Enough people have suggested this now that I probably have to take note. If we're not waiting for teams, we might as well lock in on Tuesday night?

Does this change the rookies we should pick? I.e the lower scoring but sure-to-be-named gibbons and Parker types?

Constable and balta are the ones I'm not sure on. I think they're both must-starts if they're named but I don't feel at all sure they will be.

I think darragh Joyce should become Burgess anyway. They'll both be duds so let's at least get the dpp.

@KLo30 (and anyone else with an informed opinion) do you think we can lock in Bailey Scott with any confidence?

Sorry guys .. might have to bow out of this comp .... love the concept and all but just realised that this isn't independent of other comps I'm in. Ie this starting line up is set for all leagues and I'd like to make a handful of changes to the current team line ups ... unless I'm missing something in the website ...

Awesome work by @stephen though ... loved it all ...
Sorry to see you go, mate. Thanks for the crash course in the ways of this alien format. Good luck with your team.

@Shaahorn I think this means you up!

My view is that it should tilt rookie selection somewhat towards those with JS. With that said, cash is key in this format, and trades are much more plentiful, so picking a donut is not the end of the world (we may want one for the VC loop anyway).

If in doubt, maybe one from each category?

Personally I think we should try and get 30 green lights if we can.

Seems to be enough rookies now with questionable JS , so I don't want to spend Round 2-4 trying to fix up donuts.

I know logistically it might be hard but surely after the Carlton v Richmond we should have enough information to find 8 named bench players (excluding the Rucks).

I think if Gibbons is picked Wednesday night we just select him on the bench.

Just my thoughts

Any ideas on how to join a league on a mobile device? I currently feel like my Dad trying to send a text message. This AFL Fantasy website is a dud
Do you have the Fantasy ap?
On that you just tap “leagues” down the bottom of the page then tap “join a league” at the top of the page. Then on that page tap “private league PIN number” and put in the league code.

Alright, how about Wednesday night lock, after RIC v CAR teams named. If Balta's named, he's in. Otherwise it's Parker. If we have heard anything positive about debutant announcements from Geelong, we pick them, otherwise we pick Gibbons (assuming he's named).

Unless we hear anything negative about them in debutant announcements, Scott, Butters, Drew etc are picked in our team on trust, and if they're not named come Thursday then so be it.

AFL Fantasy app is much better than the website, I'd recommend downloading that and just using that to update your team. I struggle with their website as well.

That sounds like a good route. Although, I'd probably now prefer Parker over Balta given the new comment from Dimma putting more concerns on Balta's JS.

Burgess over Joyce is probably a better result as well. Other than that, is the below the correct team? What were the C and VCs? We should have everything set and only have to do maybe 1-2 changes on Wednesday ideally...

Sorry, I know I said I'd put up some XvYs, but with (at least) 5 spots still open it got too complicated. Thought I'd just have a play and throw out another draft to gauge reaction and see if we can take a step closer. It loses our C options but tries to make up for it with a top VC option in each of the first 6 rounds (where we can loop).

Was just about to post some XvYs with view to to settling basic team tonight or tomorrow.

If we lock Wednesday night, I think that means no VC looping, so we should just pick a C.

Here's an XvYvZvAA for the last few spots. Not sure how easy it is to turn it into a poll, or if it's worth it.

I agree with this. Looping would just increase the chances that one of us gets sidetracked and misses setting their team correctly.

Option 2 for me.

Dusty is clearly ahead of Steele in my view, Macrae clearly ahead of Treloar, and Witherden was close to elite in this format already last year, if you account for his injury game - so I don't think we are giving much up there.
