Hopefully with your great start you can push/exceed a 1000+ score this round. Also what's your plan regarding the 250,000 remaining salary.
There are no plans for me in this ... it will be a week by week proposition. I figured with my poor start I just need exchange a few high break evens with low break evens then use the money wisely! Tredesco or Cleary could be next to go!

I'd keep both Teddy and Cleary and utilise the 250,000 by upgrading either 1 or both of J Kahu and V Radley. With the limited trades (37) over 24 rounds I fail to see the allure in trading out of all the big guns at the start.

You are probably right, and I would never do that with AFL premiums. I am treating this as a bit of fun though as my only NRL knowledge is from watching the occasional Storm game coupled with asking my brother-in-law who loves NRL and hates AFL for advice ...but unfortunately doesn’t play any form of fantasy sport!!

Good luck with the tactic if you decide to go in that direction. The reason I decided to load up with the midpricers/discounted premiums was that it's a different tactic in comparison to the usual fantasy sports which would make it more enjoyable and that if I eventually had to trade them to generate cash or upgrade I wouldn't be losing a key/core player

I've thoroughly enjoyed watching either the majority or snippets of the NRL games over the past week as before this competition I've only maybe watched 0-3 full games ever (State of Origin or Grand Finals).

What is a good VC score to take? Assuming my 17th player (lowest scoring bench player) will get me 10-15pts

Anything over 100 is pretty good, however, if you are considering making a trade to loop burgess or cook, don’t do it. You’ll wreck your team for price rises by doing so for an extra 30-50 points.

However if you have a player that’s a ready made loop, I.e. Simonsson (although there’s a possibility Rapana still may not be fit) then by all means give it a go.

Hopefully not too many of you brought Taumalolo in, as his night has been cut short because of an injury. Not 100% on how serious it is yet, but there was mention of a medial ligament injury.

Also, Jake Friend is out for the Roosters this weekend, so if you want to use him as a loophole (for those who already own him) put him on field and VC someone you think could go large. If they go well, captain Friend. If not, captain someone else who will be strong.

Thanks for the news regarding Friend.

Friend out :cry: but will move to bench and move K Holland on whilst taking the R off Friend and putting it on A Keighran.

Well Hodgson (23) and Morgan (19) did their best to put me back in my place after a solid start.

7/432

However, still on track to improve on last weeks deplorable start to the season!

C Murray 71, J Bateman 69, C Nicoll-Klokstad 50, M Morgan 19.
Friend out this round so A Keighran will replace.
Currenly have C on S Lane but could change to A Fifita.

Still to come:
Saturday: J Arrow, A Fifita, M Moylan, B Nikora, N Cleary, J Trbojevic, M Taupau
Sunday: C Gutherson, K Holland, A Tolman, S Lane (C), A Keighran and E Marsters

Hoping for another 1000+ but will likely be low 900's.

Murray, J Bateman, Morgan, McCullough, Hess and Addo-Carr.

Still to come: Arrow, Fifita C, Moylan, Nikora, Taupau, Holland, Lane, Capewell, Garner, Tedesco (+Friend's AE)

Have Friend on field so will probably end up with Ravalawa's 12 unless someone else has an absolute shocker. Was hoping Morgan would go big last night so I could loophole, but those plans were scuppered. Going with Fifita again for the big C. Don't think Tedesco will have as big a match as people are predicting, so just going with Fifita as he should get his usual 60-80 points. Anymore would be welcome though!

Wasn't an ideal start to the round, but I consider myself very lucky I didn't rush to bring Taumalolo in like some have done.

Disappointed in myself for swapping the arm band to Fifita, looking for a point a minute. He doesn't look fit. He doesn't get involved enough to my untrained eye. Arrow and Nikora great in that game. Moylan ended up with a strapped knee, so one to watch, and Capewell was okay.

13/801 FIfita C
Cherry-Evans, Tedesco, Holland and Lane to come.

Hard for him to get involved that game. He was fairly involved his first stint on the field when all the points were scored and then there were a heap of errors for the 2nd stint which ruined any continuity for the Sharks in attack (and defence for that matter).

I'm fairly confident he will get a try assist for the Dugan try as he kicked the ball to advantage to Dugan before he ran over the line, so just watch for updates. It should be a 12 point boost, and possibly more if it counts as a linebreak assist as well (extra 8 points).

Thanks, I only saw that second half of that game, but the whole of his first. The boost would be great. Kind of hard to know what to do with the FRF/2RF against the poorer teams, especially in regards to captaincy.

It is hard with FRF and 2RF because they do have the base stats which make them the safer option to captain, but they aren't certainties to get the attacking stats that other positions get. Fifita usually does make more runs, but this match was a strange one in the 2nd half, as both teams were quite horrid. Arrow was sensational, but I'm always worried about putting the C on a forward that will be in the losing team as errors and missed tackles can come in droves.

Edge runners that can score a try = good Really important players likely to have a break when the scoreline is inflated= bad
